I never thought anything of it.

But I started seeing it's ever more popular activity on memebase, and some jokes were funny without having to know the show.

To tell the truth, a lot of memes completely changed their meaning once I became a brony, since I thought that the show would be much more similar to the other generations.

I really didn't pay much mind to it. I didn't hate it or like it or anything. I learned that a good friend of mine was a brony, and still didn't pay any mind. Only thought it was cute when he'd get so giddy about the show. :)

It was the beautiful artwork and the memes that began to get me interested in it. Heck, I'm willing to give anything a try. :)

I've seen a couple of references to it before I started watching the show. Most of the references were on meme-heavy sites, so I just figured it was just some current fad/meme/joke. It wasn't until I saw a few ponified-trailers and PMVs that I realized that people were being serious about the show, so then I decided to check it out.

I didn't really know anything about FiM until a couple months ago, when a buddy of mine suggested it to another youtuber. I didn't really do anything about it, but then I watched a video called Teens React to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I decided I'd try it, I mean, come on. People like it, I might as well give it a try. So I did, and instantly, I was a brony. :D

I didn't even know the show existed until summer of last year. I found out about it by seeing pictures that were posted on ROBLOX during the show's rise in popularity after the first season aired. I then decided to check out an episode on my TV's on demand feature (the episode being Owl's Well That Ends Well by the way), and ever since then I was hooked.

I had absolutely no idea that it existed. I saw some 3D ponies pop up in a random Team Fortress 2 animated video, I went to Episode 1 right after that, Fluttershy exploded my heart about 8 minutes in. And then like a month later I learned there were others like me... AND NOW I AM HAPPIER THEN I'VE EVER BEEN!!!! =D!!!!! ^^

As far as the show goes, I thought it was only a show little girls watched. I liked the G2 shows back when I was, like, four, but stopped watching them when I got older; back then imo, they were like most other kid's shows based on merchandise, just simple and boring eyecandy with thread thin "storylines" and characters. But I loved it back then, so I guess they succeeded at their goal of getting their main demographic hooked, lol.

As for MLP in general, I used to love the dolls, and never really completely severed my connection to them since back then. My memories of MLP and people raving about how good FiM is are what made me come back all the way.

I honestly never even thought about it. Until the day I became a brony, I never thought of it once. I knew it existed but that's about it.

I'm lucky I became a brony when I did because if I didn't I would be sooooo bored right now!

Yes, as much as I hate to admit it, before I watched MLP I thought only little girls watched it. I only started to become aware of the brony crowd when I discovered quite randomly last semester that one of my friends at college watches the show (sadly, he no longer does, but simply because he didn't have time for it). Afterwards, I simply couldn't get it out of my head that something must've clearly appealed to him about it. After a few months of doing nothing, my interest in the show grew again when I started watching Yaplap's parody videos of the MLP songs. They were hilarious, but I also noticed that the animation from the show itself was quite good. After checking out a few clips on YouTube, I finally decided to start watching the episodes, and, well, now I'm in the herd! Couldn't be happier! I'm convinced now that this show has a universal appeal, but people can really only become aware of that appeal if they actually check the show out, through no fault of MLP:FIM, but more the reputation that the MLP series as a whole built up in the 20+ years prior to G4 with G1, G2, and G3 as an extremely girly show that was more of a 30 minute commercial than anything else. Thankfully, that's why we're here, to get the word out that MLP: FIM is amazing, and certainly not just a girls show, as so many people such as myself once thought. Oh yeah, and in case you haven't checked out Yaplap, here's one of my favorite videos of his (WARNING: BE SURE TO TURN DOWN THE VOLUME, IT IS A VERY LOUD VID!!!):

I remember being amazed how it suddenly and quickly became so popular, seemingly taking over the internet...But when I heard it was from the creators of Foster's and Powerpuff Girls (two shows I used to LOVE), I decided to check it out! And instantly fell in love!

The only thing I knew before becoming a brony was that a lot of people liked it and a lot of other people hated them for it. I saw a bunch of clips of the show and, after seeing people talking about MLP everywhere I decided to try it.

I used to think it was for little girls, my friend watched it, and sent me a clip of fluttershy going "way to go" and I was like... DAAWWWWW~ then.. I watched, and learned of its greatness :D

Ha yes!!! Another converted by Fluttershy's cuteness. Ya know, come to think of it, despite the fact that all of the mane 6 are awesome, I bet Fluttershy is especially responsible for Internet viewers deciding to check out the show. In fact, I'd bet a muffin or two that if I had a nickle for every brony who started checking out MLP after seeing a Fluttershy clip on YouTube, I'd have... well, at least some more nickles than I do now ;).

I used to only think of MLP in the farthest reaches of the hinterlands of my mind. Just before becoming one myself I saw some images, avatars, etc. I thought it was odd, but I wasn't going to hate someone for liking something I didn't. Then Know Your Meme finally roped me in and I've been in the herd ever since! :P

So essentially I was indifferent.

At first, I thought it was just for little girls... Then I learned about bronies and thought it was a huge elaborate troll on 4chan. I liked all the pony memes, and I eventually watched an episode and got hooked. :)
