gaming Fallout 4 Plot Ideas

Recommended Posts

My uncle's friend knows Todd Howard, the president? of Bethesda, who is supposedly beginning Fallout 4 or a Fallout MMORPG. I thought it would be cool if we shared our ideas for what we think the story should be about. Remember, in Fallout games, the story IS NOT, i repeat IS NOT the entire game and cannot completely overtake the entire playthrough.

My idea is that at first, you begin in the medical clinic of an opened vault community. Apparently one of the scavengers who passed through town found you in a ditch on the side of the road. As you explore through the wastes and do quests and missions and just randomly come across info and people you learn that you are a top secret Enclave experiment. You were once an Enclave soldier but due to being charged of treason, you were to be put to death. On death row, you are chosen to be part of an experiment where they would completely whipe your mind of everything and moniter your activity throug the wasteland. As you have traveled they have been deciding whether or not they are strong enough to return. At this point you cab try to reunite with the Enclave(probably evil faction), join the Brotherhood of Steel(probably good faction, simply assist the Brotherhood(neutral way to go), or simply go it alone(another neutral path). In the end, each path has a different ending, such as with the Enclave, you take back the wasteland and eliminate anything in the way of returning America to it's former state. For the joining the Brotherhood, you help locate and eliminate the Enclave and take complete control over the wasteland making it a safer and more technological place. Simply helping the Brotherhood will make it so the wasteland is basically the same, with the Brotherhood and Enclave hunting eachother down, and the chaos (and occasional beauty) of the wasteland as it always has been. Simply ignoring both factions has them burn eachother out until both sides are eliminated and you begin a conquest of the wastes, whether it be to unify it or destory it.

**Important: This takes place 15 years after the events of Fallout 3, however in an entirely new wasteland that has not been unified or taken over or affected by the BoS and Enclave yet.

Well that's my thought, what do you guys think?

My Plot idea...

It's rather large so I felt the need to put it in a spoiler tag

Oh wait that's my plot idea for everything! :D

EDIT: Shame that was supposed to be an animated gif! :(

EDIT 2: Click and load for animation!

...and that's my plot idea! Epic isn't it!

Being a ghoul would be awesome. But all I ask of Bethesda is for at least some of the game to be set somewhere other than the desert. Specifically, if you go north, you can go to Oregon or Washington and find snow in the mountains.

Ok, yeah, all I really want is the ability to go to post-apocalyptic Portland :P but still, I know the wasteland is a big part of FO, but at least a little non-desert would be nice. You can have a snowy wasteland just as harsh as a desert wasteland. And then you can have freaking Yeti's, man.

I'm guessing it's already on it's way to being finished, but I'd definitely lurve an early copy signed by the core production team. I'm a big Fallout fan, even the earlier ones like Fallout 1 and 2. Having a signed collector's copy would be effing schweet.

I could care less what the main quest is about because bethesda's sidequests are always much better than the main story. The only thing i would like is better gun play ( Think Borderlands or RAGE)

I agree with this but imo, Fallout 3's story was rather disappointing, especially compared to 2 and even NV(haven't played 1). There was hardly any character or plot develptment, no sudden turns or twists except when ___ ___s(sorry, cant make a spoiler tab on mobile) and even this was expected and didn't really affect me in the least. I want a deep and thrilling story with a really open ending completely dicated by and to your playthrough with the great side quests and fun Bethesda always dishes out. Oh, and post main story gameplay, they need that.

It may be just because I'm weird, but they NEED to keep Fallout 3's grim atmosphere.

I loved seeing the extent of the harshness of the wastes. The constant reminders of how bucked you are (like raider massacres, broken lives) kept the dark, cold atmosphere which I thoroughly enjoyed. The overall reminder that THIS is how far humanity will go was brilliant.

Also, bring back three-dog. Mr. New Vegas is terrible in comparison.

I think everybody agrees with that and that you aren't weird for thinking it.

Anyway, here's how they could make it the best: Obsidian does the writing. All of it. Bethesda is not even slightly involved in the writing.

Once they finish, they hand it to Bethesda, who reads it and makes one of their nice, huge, open worlds around it. Cuz that's what Bethesda is good at.

Oh, and they get Valve to make the engine, so it's not full of bugs and doesn't crash all the time.

No linear plot. The story should be fully chosen by your actions and random actions of other characters. One play through a revolution, the next the rebuilding of human society. The best rpg games have no linear plot.

Alright, an opportunity for some shameless self-promotion!

Alright, so this takes place 20-50 years after New Vegas. You're found, unconcious but alive, on the Canada/California border by a pair of Canadian soldiers. After you wake up, you're given the option of either taking up a rifle and a uniform and joining the Canadians, leaving on your own and helping the NCR, or going on your own.

Yeah, I basically converted this into a game idea in five minutes at Wal-Mart.

Also, what I would really love is the idea of choices that make an actual difference.

I mean, in Fallout 3 you could nuke a town and then be considered a saint if you gave a dude outside Rivet City a thousand water bottles.

THAT'S NOT HOW MORALITY IS SUPPOSED TO WORK.

As it is implied that both America AND China got bombed, I think a game set in Chinese Alaska or in mainland China in this post-apocalyptic world would be great.

My first thought was before the war, but that's not going to happen.

A completely horrible idea: the game starts in an unopened Vault and, wait for it... It doesn't open and the entire game is Vault-life.

my idea would be to set it in Europe it the best way to go about somthing completely new, how ever i feel that Bethesda games have been some what lacking, and i wist they would continue with something new and not half ass it like brink<- great game but bethesda didn't want to pay for servers so it became host based.

i would love to see brink 2 or a new IP from Bethesda before the're consumed by greed and the need to stream line everything thill they become muck like BioWear which i see them becoming in the near future.

Okay so there's this war, and it like never changes and stuff. And then there are these people with an obsession for the color blue (Let's call them Happy Happiests) who all wear blue jumpsuits. Anyways they kick one guy out because he had chronic flatulence. He then has to fight a bunch of stuff like zombies and mutant zombies and zombie mutants. And then stop the badguy and he does.

In all seriousness it'd be cool to see it from another part of the world aside from America, this'll change the atmosphere from 1950's america to 1950's someplace else.

Glitch City.

Now going serious.

It would be cool if they chose China or Japan, those two countries have really scary atmosphere in some games.

New Vegas is an awesome game with the "Project Nevada" Mod.

My wishes are:

a) New enemys and creatures

B) A new location, maybe a bit more on the countryside of the US, or Europe

c) More armor and clothing items so characters look a bit more individual

d) more challenging Hardcore mode

e) less powerful level ups so that you don't feel OP halfway through the game

f) better companions and more interaction with them(like in mass effect with a lot of dialogue, friendship, relationship, etc)

Besides that I loved 3 and NV

Just put in an end boss on the same level as Frank Horrigan from Fallout 2.

Thanks, Bethesda.
