Could you turn down Princess Celestia?

Could you turn down Princess Celestia? If so, what would you say to turn her down?

 

At some point your friendship with Celestia grows strong as you live in Equestria as a human that ended up there involuntarily. She falls in love with you and eventually at some point she stares deeply into your eyes as she asks you out on a date.  What would your reaction be?

 

If do turn her down, you would have to choose your word carefully. She is more or less a demigod (or a god depending on your headcanon), she's immortal, ruler of a nation and is literally thousands of years old. You could not say "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU UGLY FILTHY ANIMAL!" Unless you wanted to be no longer be friends and have her lose all respect for you.

 

Personally, I could not turn her down. I would probably be shaking and near unable (If not completely unable to speak) to speak in shock.  I would be extremely flattered, that literally am immortal god wants to pursue a romantic relationship with a mere mortal human. I would probably feel unworthy of her. Say something like "Why me? I'm just some stupid idiot human that was unrequitedly (secretly, I could probably never tell her I love her) in love with you? How could you love someone so pathetic?"

 

I'd also probably feel weak in the knees as I cry and would need a big reassuring hug after being told a poorly educated loser like me somehow won the romantic affections of literally a god. I would be overwhelmed with emotion that she could be interested in someone like me.

No way! I couldn't and couldn't want to. Well, I might drop dead from happpiness, but let's not assume the worst, shall we? Also, I think that such an wise being that already knows me would be perfectly able to make me more comfortable in such situation. Of course I would ask myself why she would fall in love with the worst creature she could find, it even sounds disrespectful to just consider this scenario; but, I confess, I would be selfish enough to just take such an opportunity of happiness. I assume I'd say yes by jump-hugging her and crying; I'm sure she would understand what I mean with that. The only downside of this for me is how extremely inferior I am in relation to her.

I'd date a horse. If the horse was as smart as a human, could talk, and whatnot, I'd date that horse.

If I develop feelings towards that horse, that is. And in Celestia's case I doubt I would.

I'd admire her and love to be friends but even if I were to meet a real human version of her I don't think I'd have any romantic interest in her. I'd give her a chance to prove me wrong though.

 

Would I be afraid of breaking demigod/god/almighty ruler's heart? Well, I would feel kinda sorry for her but she'd understand. She's too smart to not see that turning her down is better than letting her live a lie.

I would and I wouldn't, it all depends on what time line it is. Say that Luna is still banished to the Moon, I probably would have, but considering Luna isn't banished, i would because of reasons.

I don't think she would ask me. Celestia's magic is powerful, as are her powers of observation. She would undoubtedly know from the start that I only have eyes for a certain purple Egghead. If I heard that Twilight had started dating a certain guard, I'm afraid that I would say yes to Celestia on the rebound. It would work out in the end, as Celestia is so gentile and wise. It would be hard NOT to fall in love with her. 

(I'd rather be in pony form though, if all this happened.)

I would implore her, while crying of course, to whip me good afterwards. Washing me away from even thinking I was worthy of her godly embrace. By the way, she would have to strangle me too, just a little. Because, after all, I need to be reminded of my absolute worthlessness.

I'd also like to wear a collar, if all possible, with a leash bound to her necklace. Crawling on all fours, so she could use me whenever she pleases.

 

And call her "mom" Not trying to be picky here, although I wouldn't mind some further punishment for this audacity.

I would say, "With respect, Princess, I am merely a mortal, and I am only 19 years old. The age gap between us is too much. Besides, You will certainly outlive me as you are immortal. Also, I am already with someone, and I am sure you highly value loyalty. To betray her, even for a princess like yourself, would be wrong. I will continue respecting you, however, I think it is best to keep our relationship at a friendship level at most."

 

Or something along those lines. I don't want to anger her. I'm sure she will understand. If she is angry, it would be out of character for her. It's not like her to be angry when I refuse to do something that goes against an element of harmony. (loyalty)

 

Then again, I may be single in the scenario. In that case, I would tell her that it would be better for the both of us for me to refuse the offer. My interests and personality clashes with hers, and that would create an unstable relationship. I would tell her that it's best if we remain on a friendship level and suggest, in the politest way possible, for her to choose someone who would be a great match for her. As much as I love Princess Celestia, it just wouldn't work out.

 

I'm sure she wouldn't be angry, still. She is wise. She would understand that I mean no offense to her and will continue to respect her. 

 

I fear Princess Celestia in the sense that I respect her. I don't think she's terrible, though. The way I see her, I think she would accept it when a pony turns her down and be understanding. She is powerful, but that doesn't mean she would force someone to engage in a romantic relationship with her, especially if it wouldn't work.
