gaming Team Fortress 2

Yesterday I practiced Ambassador only for like 1-2 hours, now today I went something like 30-4 with 69 points in Borneo on red, next best on our team was 29, I think practicing with the ambass improved my awareness rather than just trying to see if I can get lucky with back stabs..

All things that interact with the world exert a force. All things that exert a force have an opposite and equal force. Ergo, nothing immaterial exists [because where would the opposite force be without material as a medium?]. Ergo god doesn't exist immaterially. Also if the universe were infinite itd take infinite time for a god to make it. If it were finite it'd be subject to entropy. Which means an eternal god can't exist.

Not a fan of the game's current state.

Casual is still barely functional. Competitive is still shit, and Valve has stopped caring about the game. Seriously, how, after a year, is a new game mode that was introduced, still barely functional?

Scream Fortress was a carbon copy of the previous year's. How lazy can you get? And then Smissmass was just as bad. Also, enough with the tiered cosmetics, Valve! No one likes them, they ruin the community market!

The Pyro update is coming soon (in Valve time, anyway...) and supposedly is going to fix Casual(yeah, sure.), comp, and add more weapons for the Pyro to mess the metagame again, so that's more weapons to balance later on....

A new contract, but this time it's a CYOA, so that's better than gun mettle and tough break, at least.

I honestly have no faith this update will fix anything. And if it does, it'll probably add more broken shit.

Valve, please, bring back quick play. The point of casual is to drop in and out at leisure. Leave matchmaking for competitive. Also bring back all the good community servers.

I used to play it, I liked playing as the medic and I got quite good at it. The update that removed Valve servers killed the game for me though, I liked to play the beta map rd_asteroid but that's inaccessible now because no major community servers have it, I also find it hard to find servers that aren't ruined with premium bonuses and pay to win. Because of that I just sort of stopped playing and now I don't care about the game at all, though I still love it's characters and follow the SFM community.

Used to play it a lot, I've stopped and quit until the next update, which won't be for 20 yrs.

I get sick of hearing about how Valve stopped caring about TF2, when there are only 2 people left on TF2's development team out of the original *15*. Valve isn't going to allocate any resources to TF2 unless the devs specifically ask for it.

I also get sick of hearing people complain about TF2's balance when 90% of them think pyro is too strong even though scout is strictly better and soldier mains are less fun to play against.

I had this bitter attitude toward back in 2012 when they were releasing a never ending stream of cosmetics, when MTP and MVM came out and were both massive disappointments, when there were several bugs and balance issues that went months, even years with no fixes. Now that the TF team is actually doing something with the game, that bitter attitude is gone. You can imagine how miffed I get when people bring that same attitude back where it clearly is not needed. The game hasn't changed, you have.

Have you even played Casual? It still needs fixing. I can't even go two consecutive matches without having an empty server. The level system is pointless. Competitive is still a broken mess.

Never mind that meet your match was developed for two fucking years and still launched in an unacceptable state. I don't care if it's 2 or 5 devs working on the game, that was unexcusable.

If you ask me the game has changed and not for the better. That's my opinion and if you don't like it, tough.

The removal of Valve servers was probably the only negative change, and even if MYM was a failure on launch, casual still works fine for me and community servers still exist. You can keep your bitter attitude if you want, but the game is perfectly fine as it is now. The fact that it's a little less convenient to try and find a server doesn't change that.

Alright alright. This is a pointless argument. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be bitter.  I'm still going to play the update, and I really want to see the game improve. Also I would love to see competitive be something interesting. Placement matches, short matchmaking times, class and weapon limits. And maybe some nice rewards. Also actually matching you up with similarly ranked players.

I just wish Valve would let the players test the new updates. I am interested in the new contract, because I'm not a fan of being forced to play a class I suck at (Spy for example).

Also, what is your opinion on tiered cosmetics?

I think it's a stupid way of creating artificial scarcity on one hand, and on the other a nice way of keeping stupid hats like the potassium bonnet out of most peoples' inventories

I have to admit, the burly beast is one of the most interesting cosmetics to come out of tiered cosmetics.

So the big update has been out for a week now.

And I've highly enjoyed it so far! Love Pyro's new unlocks, they finally fixed his flamethrower, also I like his new afterburn effect, new campaign is great.

I'm loving the new maps, too.

Well I wasn't completely pessimistic :P

Also, demo's bottles break again. 10/10 best update ever.

Also I've seen people complain about the dragon's fury, but wait ti a month or so, people will learn to counter it. I think the best balance was the pretty boys pocket pistol. It's really useful for getting health for scout and no longer a crutch. Removal of no falling damage may seem bad, but that's what Scout has a double jump for.

It's been literally, over 3 years since i was last active, but when i saw this topic, i want to participate in it :P

Since 2015, I've been playing Team Fortress 2, there are only 2 classes i'm best at (or being a main to it), Spy & Engineer, I personally love both classes' weapons, but i can say i have a favorite item set, like Anti-Pyro Weapons & Saharan Spy weapons for Spy, as for Engineer, I like the Quick Engineer weapons & The Brainiac Pack, One of my favorite maps is Hightower.

I gave the game a try recently, and I think I'll just stick to Paladins. The Pyro update seriously f***ed up the balancing, plus I really do not like how they've essentially killed off private servers for good. I'll let the game die a slow and painful death like it should, unfortunately. I wish they'd make a version of TF2 like it was in 2014...

I've been playing it since 2014 I think and have racked up more than 1500 hours total. I think the lack of updates is annoying, since the game still has potential. I prefer it over many other games due to the very high skill ceiling and being impossible to master. I tend to play all of the classes except spy, as I think "maining" a class can cause it to feel stale. Still, my favourite classes are demo, soldier and sniper.

I used to play it more, now I play it very rarely. One reason is that I play games less frequently now and another is that when they introduced random loot drops (as opposed to getting them for achievements), it got boring for me, since I did not get the items I wanted , at least it was possible to farm achievements.

Though I guess I got bored of the game anyway. I still sometimes turn it on to have some fun on 2fort or some MvM...

Were the other three snipers?

Nope, I was the only sniper fortunately. The other two were f***ing pyros because of course have to abuse the class that got all the updates... like 2 years ago...

Also, it's official: I have no f***ing idea how rocket jumping works. There's a reason I don't play Soldier.

I've lost interest with TF2. Ever since the lootbox debacle, I've had every other items with me and I'll know that I'll just end up getting "more of the same" kind of weapons, skins, cosmetics, etc. The only reason I still even have TF2 is because they are associated with Garry's Mod in terms of maps. Otherwise, my interest with TF2 has completely died down, same for other F2P games.
