Do you find sad/depressing/dark music to be comforting?

I tend to listen to tropical house when I'm sad because that makes me happy again. Depressing, sad or dark music makes me sad.

I love dark music, because i love dark things. I will listen to sad and depressing music at times mostly from soundtracks and the like... usually they don't strike me as sad or depressing though.

My sad time music is a weird mix- I tend to listen to a lot of Nine Inch Nails and Pink Floyd. 
I like NIN because Trent seems to really pour his emotions into his work. I normally listen to the quieter songs as opposed to angsty, aggressive, guitar-heavy songs because I'm more depressed than I am angry.

Not really, it just makes me feel even worse yet I listen to it anyways when I'm feeling bad sometimes.

Typically, yes. If I listen to something happy when I’m sad it feels like I’m just trying to repress something where if I listened to something sad, I’d be airing out the feelings

No I don't find it comforting. Some music do make me feel something though, if that say anything?

Yeah you bet it's absolutely comforting. A good reason for me to rub this reason in my mom's face because I'm sick of her complaints of wiping out all depressing things from the house. "Staying positive" and all that junk that means nothing anymore.
