Soda is bad for you, and other food tips

Soda is like the devil's drink. I mean sure, you don't get healthier by not keeping active, by not moving around i mean. But drinking that.. You really get a belly from it, and is really bad for you. I mean snacks and candies is also bad in a way. But Soda is like the prime of just being friggin awful, and fast food hamburgers are awful too. Although i am not too complainy about Ice cream, i dont like them either that much. If i guess right, they are like frozen vanilla covered with chocolate most of it. Basically if you eat fruits thats kinda like what you need thanks to nature, you'll feel fresh and new everytime you wake up to say the least, water, breakfast, bread and stuff, dinner, and fruits at times.

I also have suspision it was the germans who made the hamburgers, while USA just popularized it.

Making it home though like bread and burgers isnt that bad to make for dinner, aslong as it isnt sloppy fat sauce or something. But if you buy them at some fast food.... well its really a bad idea. Put them in the oven, have some water. And its much better nourishing food for you

I mean companies make these and profiting of it, but its really a bad eating lifestyle. Its sad that it exists to be honest. I mean some are lazy to not wanting to not make their own food, but the fast food usually are bad in general. So its much more beneficial to make your own food that is good for you.

Although i dislike most soda, and coca cola company in general for promiting this stuff all over the world!

Either way. Just wondering what you think?

You don't have to stay away from fast food to be healthy. What you need to do is make sure you get a decent amount of nutrition and exercise. Although I'm not a fan of McDonald's, Wendy's, and other such establishments, my brother is. He eats at one whenever he feels like it, but he makes sure to keep tabs on how much he consumes. If he eats a Big Mac, he balances out the scale with fruits and/or veggies, some home-made trail mix (hold the sweets), and enough water to stay hydrated. Combine that with a steady workout plan and he's fine. Same goes with me.

I'm no nutritionist, but feel free to try this out: Lower your tolerance for sugar. The best way to stop eating something is to stop liking it. In my experience, being unable to take large amounts of concentrated sugar (ie chocolate bars, ice cream, cake) has helped me reject them in favor of more nutritious sweets (fruits, bro). There's no temptation nagging at me either, since I don't care for the stuff as much as I used to.

I drink a can or two of mountain dew (hey that rhymed) every day... I am 14 and I weigh 110 pounds, so I don't know... I know it isn't good for me, but it's almost an addiction now... I get the jitters if I don't drink any... But it's so delicious...

Of course soda isn't good for you, it's supposed to be a pleasure food of sorts, people like it because it's sugary and tasty. And like snacks/candy/fast food/etc, it's not supposed to be eaten regularly, but we do anyway because they're incredibly cheap  :P

I don't need a huge thread to tell me that soda is bad for me. I know it's not healthy, but I'm still gonna drink it.

I almost exclusively drink water while at home. But while I'm at my college, I always make sure to grab a Mountain Dew between classes. I also drink a lot of energy drinks like Monster and AMP when I'm out and about.

Personally, I've experienced nothing bad from just drinking or eating whatever I want. Maybe my metabolism is such that I just don't have to worry about it like some people do.

Politicians are bad for us too, so let's stop using them.

Moderation is everything. Once in a while isn't the worst thing in the world. Plus, soda is damned delicious.

I will second this! A few years ago, when my dad found out he was diabetic, my mum and I resolved to change things with him, including switching to sugar-free juices and buying better food. It got to the point where I had been sugar-free for SO long, I couldn't eat large amounts of sugar in one sitting. It started to make me sick. Regular-size Cinnamon buns, ice cream sundaes, etc...Just couldn't eat them.

So, when I went on a major diet for the first time, I followed the same regimen we had been on before and the same thing happened, a long with the addition that sometimes, I would just look at sweets and walk away. I didn't want them. I did that today, actually, when I was grocery shopping. I was like, "I don't need this junk."

On the main topic at hand: I don't drink soda. (Sweet tea is my vice of choice) It tastes like carbonation and corn syrup and gives me heartburn. I actually stopped drinking it when I was like, nine and developed an intolerance to it. The first time I had a soda in years it was disgusting. The only soda I can and will drink on occasion is Ginger Ale. It's the only one I can tolerate. And it's awesome when you mix it with cranberry juice.

Soda is really really bad. Especially for the teeth. All the hidden sugar/sugar alcohols will eventually be converted into fat that is applied to your belly and those areas.

I suggest drinking water, and if you can't afford water (how did you afford soda to begin with)?

I used to drink soda any chance I had as a kid. But as I started to workout 7 years ago, I’ve kept control of my weight, and came to the conclusion that soda is what gains me weight the most

It doesn't matter if I like soda or not, my stomach sure doesn't:unamused:

I get suuuuper nauseous whenever I drink soda or really have unhealthy stuff at all, so I stick to being as healthy as I can be; not out of love for my future self, but out of a deep-seated fear of bad stomachs...:yeahno:

I used to drink a full 2 liter every day, or 5-7 cans per day. Sometimes I drank 2 2 liters.

I have dropped a lot of sugar from my diet including drinks like soda. I mostly just have water now.

The first thing I noticed is my anxiety is no longer so extreme. I’m more laid back about things that would normally trigger severe anxiety in me. I still have a cup of soda every now and again, but no where near what I used to drink.

Not trying to say to stop drinking soda. I am just mentioning the things I found.

It is true that soda is bad for you when consumed in large amounts. I might only have a Coke every couple of weeks or so. I've taken health and nutrition classes and the things I learned about what certain unhealthy foods and drinks (especially anything with large amounts of sugar and caffeine, and alcohol) can and will do to your body, especially in the long-term, made me shiver and never really want to eat those foods, or drink those drinks, again. :adorkable: At least not very often at all.

On 9/25/2015 at 8:44 PM, Bakugou is my Man said:

I only drink soda when I feel it compliments the food i'm eating.

Other then that, I generally stay away from caffeine because it isn't good for my heart.

Yeah I feel like I have also been getting a lot of palpations lately from all the caffeine I consume.... But you gotta admit that Pepsi or coke goes REALLY well with spicy foods such as tacos etc as the fizzy burn just hits the spot! In fact they did a study and they actually discovered the carbonation in pop actually does activate pain recaptors to a minor degree which is why it burns such a tiny bit going down!
