spoiler I smell a potential episode coming along. (Twilight and Shining)

So if you guys already seen the latest episode, you'd be aware that it's Canon: Cadence and Shining Armor are having a baby.

 

What really upsets me that I've yet to see an episode where Shining Armor and Twilight actually bond. They only meet during circumstance. Sure, both are busy, but if Cadence took the time to see Twilight, Shining could have as well. Twilight expressed how close they were, but so far I'm not seeing it.

 

SOOOOO despite this never happening, I feel as though an episode where Shining and Twilight are the focus is a great idea especially since Shining will be a father and Twilight will be an aunt.

 

There's so many possible plots for this. One where Shining is freaking out about being a dad and spends a day with Twilight to receive comfort and encouragement while also facing a problem that leads to that "Hey maybe I can do this!"

 

Two: Twilight is in charge of putting together a baby shower and goes nuts. I'd imagine it would involve pinkie, and it might be repetitive considering that Yak episode, but it'll be nice to see. Shining Armor could be included by pressuring Twilight that its perfect because he could be nervous himself.

 

Or an episode where Shining has to announce it to their parents but is having troubles so Twilight tags along and not only do we see a Twiarmor bond, but we get a little more from their oarents as well.

 

I'm just rambling but yeah....really like to see SOMETHING between them if not anything. I know male.characters usually don't get great roles or.development but come on, this guy deserves at least one episode where he lives up to the hype Twilight gave him for being a great brother that she shares a real bond with.

I do hope we get to see an episode where Twilight gets to be a cool aunt or something.

I'm not too sure how far apart Twilight and Shining really are in terms of age, but it would seem to me that Shining would probably have taken care of foal Twilight at least once, before Cadance became her foalsitter. Maybe an episode could revolve around his experiences then, and how they would help him now that he's about to have his own baby.

 

Maybe it starts out with Twilight being unsure as to how she can help, and Shining telling her that she already did, when she was a baby. I'm really just saying the first thing that comes to mind regarding this, but it seems like it could work.

I've been dying for more TwiShining, or just Twi family reunion, in general. Parents, Shining, Cadance, Blueblood, Sunbutt, Pollbreaker, and Spike. All of these characters could've fleshed out Shining. Didn't need a baby thrown in as a prop to do that.

I seriously hope something like this happens. It needs to happen. It is clear that they had some kind of strong bond when they were young, Twi and Shining, we all saw how much Shining freaked out when he saw all of his childhood stuff, so clearly they played with each other a lot, there was a song about him too going on and on about this. Wheres the love? We need to see this nowadays! Not just in flashbacks. Plus, this would give shining more character too and more valuable screen time, something he has not gotten at all at this point. Hell, his latest appearance has pretty much been his best appearance in my book despite being brief.

 

We could have a babysitting episode, an episode where they bond while Cadence is babysitting, something like this could work wonders.

I can predict it already...Pinkie is going to be in charge of the Cakes babies as well as Cadance and Shinings Babies.....and then pinkie drops Cadance and Shining's baby and then it grows up to be a Derpy Alicorn...

I wouldn't be surprised if an episode like that came around in Season 6 at some point. Season 5 has already had a lot of unexpected episodes and an episode surrounding Twilight and Shining just makes sense for a future story. There are so many possibilities for how it could work. I do like the idea of using a babysitting episode though.

After seeing Big Mac and Applebloom develop their sibling relationship, they defiantly need to expand on Shining Armor and Twilights. Hopefully well see this in season 6.
