Jon the VGNerd 886 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 DSTs are at it again from last night and, while people do enjoy Daylight Savings Time every year, others like myself are fed up with this. In my honest opinion, it serves no purpose and creates more annoyance than benefits and it also affects television schedules as they're now an hour ahead instead of back. I know I have. It creates difficulties in keeping track of my favorite television programs because of this and in my honest opinion, I would like to have Daylight Savings Time not exist. What are your opinions of DSTs and why do they benefit/annoy you?
Tinkh_ 239 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 It helps if you have to close half of the hours you work in some places, because it gets dark earlier and earlier. I was closing four days a week, lol; Its still pretty dark by the time we go to the bank so I dunno how much it'll help until Tuesday, but still. The only thing that would possibly annoy me is if I forget to change my clocks back.
Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 I don't really care. The only thing about it I take notice of is when it's not completely dark when I'm waiting for the bus in the morning which I kind of like. It makes so I don't feel like I'm standing out there in the middle of the night.
El Duderino 879 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 I don't like it. I think it is useless. Tinkh_ 239 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 "Daylight saving time (DST) or summer time is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months by one hour so that in the evening daylight is experienced an hour longer, while sacrificing normal sunrise times. Typically, users in regions with summer time adjust clocks forward one hour close to the start of spring and adjust them backward in the autumn to standard time.[1]" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time
Celtore 2,770 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 Yeah, it's fairly inconvenient and results in some really weird glitches in the daily routine. Fortunately though, it's only Sunday and not in the middle of the week.
MLPFanatic34 3,234 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 It's somewhat difficult for me to adjust to, and I feel like I can't get on a good sleep schedule, but I'll work it out.
Envy 6,182 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 I don't understand why we do it, and 'Springing forward' honestly only makes me hate Spring even more. lol Everything needs more woodwind!
Nightfall Gloam 18,266 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 I don't like adjusting to it, and I wish more of my clocks could automatically update when Daylight Savings happens, despite being in Australia (though, more specifically the southeastern states, where Daylight Savings is actually observed in the country). 1 Aspiring animator/illustrator, founder of MLPF's Lighthoof and Shimmy Shake fan club! Cirrus. 1,090 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 I like the hour when it ends in the fall, but I hate losing the hour when it starts in the spring, especially since I always work the following morning. :okiedokielokie: Rainbow Rocks... at least how it could've looked... in a stranger, more interesting dimension For those who are wondering, Twilight is chewing bubble gum. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,693 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 Doesn't bother me much, though this time it threw my mind for a loop, I got all mixed up because of it. I like it best during this time of year though as it gets darker even sooner, which I really like.

cmarston1 5,959 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 I don't even understand why we even have it in the first place. But when we get the extra hour back it's nice. Because more sleep is always good. But besides that I don't think much of it.
Tameless 979 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 Well.. daylight savings always throws me off course. It was nice to get an extra hour, but now it seems as though it should be the previous time and not the adjusted one. It confuses me but more or so I would think it would mess with sleep. Adri 52 November 2, 2015 Share November 2, 2015 (edited) Daylight savings is rather dumb in my opinion, as there really isn't any good reason to keep it around (other than in some places, you don't want to see the run rising at, like, 4 a.m.) I wish this outdated concept would just die already as its purpose in WWI no longer has any relevance. I find it to be a detriment to my circadian rhythm as well, since getting decent sleep is a bitch in the first place Edited November 2, 2015 by Adri
Rainboom Dash 1,056 November 3, 2015 Share November 3, 2015 I don't understand daylight savings. Not all of my time-telling devices update to it automatically, so I get confused when one clock shows another and I have to reset them all.
Invincible 2,091 November 3, 2015 Share November 3, 2015 I get a free hour if i clock in before the clock's reset. -Nobody- 519 November 3, 2015 Share November 3, 2015 I hate it. Well, I like gaining an extra hour, but I hate losing an hour. We should just keep time the same all year long. I'm just nobody at all...
SparklingSquirrels 21,349 November 4, 2015 Share November 4, 2015 I think it's kind of annoying, but I don't hate it or anything. It does feel really weird the day after though ֍֎֍֎

rotazar 22 November 4, 2015 Share November 4, 2015 Well it was originally made for farmers and I hear it still helps them a lot during the summer months. I like it in the fall because that means I get more sleep.
Detritus 258 November 4, 2015 Share November 4, 2015 It always seemed kind of pointless to me. It's like cutting an inch off the front of a ruler, tacking it on the end, and then pretending the ruler is longer. That said, I'm not really bothered by it.
