MLP Equestria Girls 4: Grand Friendship Gala

 

Scornful of Canterlot High, having 'lost' the friendship games but more importantly her best student and several others that followed her example and transferred schools principal Cinche enlists the aid of school board chairman Sombra along with the previously defeated sirens to put together a trap for the magical girls at Canterlot high and attempt to use their magic for their own nefarious agenda. Meanwhile at Canterlot High they in turn are preparing for their graduation which takes place at the annual Grand Friendship Gala with all of the mane 7 telling exactly what they'd be doing after graduation.

 

Rarity says that her parents are going away for some time and have given her control of their shop they run in the city which has always been her dream

 

Pinkie says she'd gotten a job offer to be a pro party planner for an entertainment agency in town 

 

Fluttershy says that the owner of the animal shelter is about to retire and wants her to take over as owner of the shelter with Tree-Hugger as her co-owner/co-worker

 

Applejack says that she'll more or less be staying local to the area tending to the farm and helping take care of Granny Smith and Apple Bloom

 

Rainbow Dash says that shes awesome enough to do anything after she graduates

 

Twilight says she plans to remain at Canterlot High as a tutor 

 

and Sunset Shimmer says that she plans to go back to Equestria for the Summer as she hasn't been there in quite awhile and feels homesick and had put in a request for early graduation.

 

While the girls are saddened by this they understand Sunset's position and encourage her to have one last fun night with them before going home. This happens and afterwards when Sunset leaves they are met with the arrival of...HUMAN WORLD SUNSET SHIMMER! Whom in this world is a transfer student from another branch of Crystal prep from another town who comes to Canterlot High to be a tutor like Twilight much to the surprise of the mane 6 and soon to be confusion of human Sunset seeing as how everyone at the school seems to like and get along with her so well having under her assumption never met her before and wonders just what is going on and begins investigating and soon finds out the magical nature behind the mane 6 and confronts them about it claiming that they shouldn't keep it so secret and share it with the world and use it to better mankind but the mane 6 refuse and tell her that a good friend told them that this magic was too unpredictable in the hands of people who didn't know how to wield it properly and even they had trouble knowing exactly how it works as its been changing in different ways lately. This angers Sunset and she storms off claiming they have no ambition and are foolish and selfish for their choice.

 

Seeing this as an opportunity the siren's make their move on Sunset Shimmer however Adagio as the clever one notices that this Sunset Shimmer isn't the one they know meaning she has no knowledge of the fact that they were evil and using their cunning they convince Sunset to ally herself with Cinch and Sombra claiming that with their help she can understand the magic they held as well as control it and prove that it could better mankind(with a song of course...they got singing lessons)

 

Sunset agrees to this and lends her aid as an insider to the mane 6 by pretending to be their friend.Spending time with them she tries to get answers as to what their magic is, where it came from and how it works with each of the girls giving very odd and vauge explainations as to what the magic is and where it came from which confuses Sunset but the siren's just tell her to go with it assuring her these girls aren't crazy. After spending a few days with the girls she gathers enough data and even steals Twilight's magical pendant and delievers it to the siren's cinch and sombra.

 

Using the data collected and CPA's highly skilled tech students they fashion necklaces for the siren's which have the fragments of their necklaces in them which gives them back their power to mind control people with their music and its here that Sunset discovers their own magical nature and malicious intent and attempts to get back to the mane 6 to warn them but is quickly stopped by the Adagio's voice which is amplified by her new necklace and then in combo with the other siren's they sing a villainous song and basically turn her into evil Sunset(complete with costume change)

 

With this they go ahead to the Gala the next evening, the girls wondering where Sunset went but they eventually find her at the Gala...and aren't happy with what they find. They find her with the siren's and is apperently apart of their band now having gone completely into her evil self. As the Gala goes on with many events ensuing that begin turning people against the mane 6, after the graduation ceremony Sombra announces that the dazzlings will preform over the rainbooms for the Gala much to the dismay of the mane 6 who demand they be allowed to play the Gala as they were supposed to which leads to a battle of the bands Rainbooms vs Dazzlings round 2 but this time the Dazzlings had Sunset on their side and easily defeat the mane 6 due to the fact that Twilight is stage shy and can't preform in front of others and the Dazzlings power is just too strong for them(even transforming). However the Dazzlings push the rainbooms far enough to where their magic comes out and they begin to drain the magic from them all including Sunset who still has Twilight's pendant.

 

Weak and drained of their magic the Dazzlings win and its at this time Cinch and Sombra betray them all and use special magic nullifying tech he had his students create and take the pendants and takes all that magical power in on himself claiming that he didn't care about bettering humanity he simply wanted the power for himself to rule the world as he thought himself fit to rule over more than just a simple school board and with magic on his side he could do it no problem, going wild with the magic and ripping holes in dimensions and turning people into magic monsters, the mane 6 try to help but to no avail but its when Sunset gets back up and lends her help saying she is sorry for all she did and that during the latter half of this she was under the siren's influence and begs the mane 6's forgiveness...which they give to her and they all finally explain truly what the magic of friendship is and this in turn empowers them with their magic once more Twilight and Sunset included and they all super pony up and defeat Sombra and turn everything back to normal afterwards convining the now reformed siren's to use their voices to make everyone forget what happened.

 

At the end Sunset officially stays on as their friend and takes up the role as a magic investigator with her own little office at CHS to tackle friendship and magic problems with her new friends with Twilight as her tech assistant.

Post credit scene would be pony sunset coming through frantically wondering if her friends were okay without her and then comes face to face with her human world self and is lost for words to which human sunset replies "Don't worry...I got things here"

Hm...well damn i didn't know that i'll take your word for it i guess, though i'll feel more secure when i see a trailer i guess, just how i am cause movie titles tend to change all the time

It hasn't been confirmed if EQG 4 will be called "Legends of Everfree" its just a project Hasbro is working on for next year but, will probably be called that. Also if Hasbro wants to end the EQG's series the last one being graduation would make lots of sense. The series began in 2013 and if the fourth one is the last one the series would have lasted 4 years, the time you are in high school (if graduated on time) so each year could have been one year in high school but, the problem with that is the mane 7 have been in high school for longer than that. Remember the freshman fair? And remember Sunset Shimmer won that princess of the fall formal 3 times?

 

but, maybe all three EQG's have happened all in senior year? It also would make sense since the freshman fair was one year and all three movies have came out in 3 years so far. So 1 year+3 years=4 years (senior year) This is just what I think, I could totally be wrong and I probably made an error or two in my theory. I just don't want this series to end   I FREAKING LOVE EQUESTRIA GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope that the reason the Sunset subplot in Friendship Games was dropped is because of it being used in Legends of the Everfree which I plan on watching..

My main hopes for the new movie are that Sunset will go back to Equestria, however briefly. I want some interaction between her and Twilight to fuel my shipping.
