Someone was missing from almost all the Alternate Universes in the Finale...

Sorry if that title looks clickbaity. I only have so much room.

 

I've been think about all the alternate universes, and aside from the Nightmare Moon and Discord (Right?) one, Luna was not seen in any others.

 

Although there is a lot of arguments for why she isnt in some of them, the one I want to point out is the Sombra AU. Applejack specifically said Celestia was leading the charge. Wouldn't she have said Celestia and Luna like they always do?

 

Maybe it's just me being overanalytical, but is it possible that someone defeated her, without Twilight and co?

 

Perhaps Celestia wins without the Mane 6, but doesn't succeed in reforming her? What do you think?

But as for Luna, I believe that without the Mane six, she would not have ever been reformed,as it would leave Celestia to handle the reigns in the battle with her sister, and we all how that ended last time.

Maybe it's possible for Celly to defeat her in all but in Nightmare Moon's victory timeline. But forget Luna, what about Twilight? We didn't see her in any timeline

I have a headcanon that King Sombra converted Luna into becoming Nightmare Moon. Luna becoming Nightmare Moon is an event that occurred after Sombra's defeat after all. The same could of happened during the new timeline.

I'd guess and say that in all other timelines, Nightmare Moon was defeated by other means. We see Luna in the Discord timeline because that would have meant others found the Elements to turn her good, meaning Luna and Celestia's connection to the Elements is cut off and Discord's old petrification is undone, and the new bearers weren't able to stop Discord this time.

I've heard theories going around that other ponies could have taken the Mane 6's place as defenders of Equestria but weren't as successful as the Mane 6 in getting things done.
