If you scratch it feels better though :scoots: .

Still this  .

It's a win-lose situation. Otherwise it's a lose-lose and you sit there suffering :scoots: .

If a mosquito gets me at the worst location, I will just have to scratch it. The key is to not have a mosquito get that chance in the first place! That's why I am so exhausted of summers lately, as the mosquito are soo many to defend against, and just letting your guard down for a moment ends in a rash!

When I used to live in the Midwest I was eaten alive by ticks and chiggers. When they bite it’s not like a simple mosquito bite which is annoying and goes away in a few days. These bites are horrific, relentlessly itchy and last for weeks, even if you don’t scratch them. I started out scratching, which made them into a bloody, oozing mess, so I tried applying pressure without scratching; less gory but not very effective. Isopropyl alcohol helps if used a LOT. It takes the itch down for a little while but doesn’t last, so it has to be constantly re-applied. It does help to speed healing though, and that’s an added plus. But back to the question at hand, I mostly avoid scratching (if I absolutely can’t stand it, I scratch the vicinity of the bite and not directly on the affected area).
