If she becomes a nightmare like version of herself, she would no longer be Rainbow Dash.

I guess you could call her Monochrome Dash.

Damn, this takes me back to the early days of the fandom when people would come up with nightmare ideas for the mane six.

That's kind of gone by the wayside as the series has gone on they've distanced the group from having any real connection to the EOH as a magical source of power.

Problem: the mane six are, apart from Twilight, pretty much 100% mundane, especially since the EOH are gone now.

 

You can piss off RD and the others all you want and the most you'll get is just a slightly unruly pony. Not a nightmare alicorn. You'd have to pull out some random Dark magical artifact for a nightmare form.

nightmare form is caused by the corupted Nyx, not dark magic/alicorn magic

 

So onanypony can have a nightmare form, as we saw with Rarity
