So, CPUs in Smash. What level of them to you place against? When you're a beginner, you can't just play online, that'll get your booty kicked. You gotta start somewhere, so CPUs are a great way to progress and get better. Now which do you do? On the weekdays, I play against Lv. 9 CPUs. My reason is because I play on a 3DS that I got for my birthday after breaking my original one a few years ago. The one I got had a parental control on it for some reason, and my father still hasn't called Nintendo to get it removed. On the weekends, I play on my old one because it's still connected to the internet.

9, because I'm not a pleb.

Well, actually I played against 3s for a while so I could easily unlock a bunch of characters. Then I switched to only 9s once I had most of them. Level 3s are really boring, anyway.

The 3DS SSB is the only one I've ever owned, so in all the other games I've only played multiplayer with friends.

I am learning a new character and can't consistently beat 9's so I have to do 8's. Mainly only doing it to annoy my friends because it's olimar...

Good luck my friend. Olimar is so freaking annoying, all you have to do is use side B and then it racks up damage effortlessly. How is he not top tier? Same with PAC-MAN, the fruits have different properties that only those with great memory will memorize, and the hydrant has hundreds if not thousands of uses. If we give it a couple centuries, we could find a few million more uses for the hydrant.

Well I play against Level 9 CPUs regardless if they're random characters, but mostly I just pick on large and heavyweight characters like king DDD, and bowser. Normally I like to fight against my amiibo which is at level 50 and I have to change the AI behavior.

Level 9's. That to me is the most fun way to play. What I love to do specifically is do one-on-one matches against a level 9 CPU. Doing an all out Melee with 4 players all at level 9 is surprisingly easier, so going against just one feels far more intense and fun.

I have no idea if this list is only for the newest Smash Bros or if it counts for all, but i usually play with one easy Cpu, one middle Cpu and one hard Cpu, but all against each other and not all against me.

I also played, me and middle, against easy and hard and rounds like that, was fun.  :twi:

At least it felt, like having friends.

I have beaten the first game in all difficulties though.

Well, if i remember correctly.  :ooh:

I couldn't agree more, going against one CPU or player is so intense, especially when you have two campy characters against each other, like PAC-MAN vs Duck Hunt. Players camping, baiting, and spamming different projectiles is what keeps my eyes glued to the screen. Though I prefer to play For Glory.

Level 9, obviously. Though I wish there were higher level CPU's though, 'cause you know… after a while, it gets really easy.

Yea, but you do have For Glory and going to tournaments. Now THAT will be a crazy challenge.

When I used to play Smash, I'd actually go against two or three level 9's by myself.

Of course, this was when I could probably have played a plausibly competitive Yoshi, which could beat the second best Ike in San Antonio, Texas (my older brother, back then). I also was good at Falco and Diddy Kong. Unfortunately, this was only for a period of about two months.

Now all I play is LoL. I'm better at LoL anyways...

For one-on-one, I go 7 or 8. If I'm doing teams (with CPU or human) then it's 9.

It really depends for me. Although if I'm doing a one-on-one, I will usually set the AI player to level 9.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

9 isn’t that hard really if it’s 1v1.

Try doing teams where the other team is all 9s though :pout: . That’s really hard to win  . Don’t think I’ve had success with it.

Depends. When I practice, I go against higher levels like 6-8. (Never 9's cause they're idiots.)

But, when I goof around, I love to put them on 9.

I used to play 1v2 against level 9's and win most of the time :P

But if I played now, I'd probably just play against a level 7 or something. I haven't played Smash in a couple of years, and all I've played since has been LoL, Paladins, and a few emulated GBA games.

I usually play against level 9s. Back when I use to play online I'd practice 1v3 against level 9 computers. Now I've become really rusty, and could probably take on level 7s with a GameCube controller... any other controller I'm hopeless. Thinking of getting a USB GameCube controller for my emulator, so I can get back in the hang of Smash. Because using an Xbox One controller to play Smash is a lot harder than it sounds.

I've always played against Lv. 9 CPU opponents because how else would I be able to improve myself in order to take on human opponents? I also played 'For Glory' online when Super Smash Bros. Wii U was arguably at its prime though I most spent my time watching others for fun.
