Also, Fluttershy already learned that being a pushover isn't necessarily best for whoever she's being hospitable towards and that sometimes the kindest thing to do is push them away.

The fact that it's included in the synopsis at all that Fluttershy is forced to stand up to him is probably a sign it won't be the resolution of the episode and the lesson learned, but rather something that happens earlier in the episode.

Twilight's parents, even if celestia is basically Twilight's mother in everything but name XD

And pinkie's family looks very close nit, just pinkie pie moved out so we don't see them interact too much at home (Pinkie's probably like 23-26 here and isn't a kid, no matter what the EQG universe may say :P)

That's true. I'd say the Pies are the second best parents of the mane six. Then again, if you take the book canon into account, they can be verbally abusive. I suppose they're still the second best though because they would probably at least care if Pinkie almost fell to her death. Maud on the other hand is definitely up there with Applebloom and Big Mac as one of the best siblings. I'm not sure about Marble and Limestone, especially the latter, but I would have to see more of them to see what kind of siblings they are. I would assume Marble is just fine. Limestone...maybe.

I hope that's true. This episode has a lot of hype building up to it, so I'd hate for it to disappoint. That said, I'll give the writers the benefit of the doubt and see what they pull off.

I hope we will too, but I'm less confident about it. I can just as easily see the cold open showing Fluttershy receiving a letter from him stating he's coming for a visit, only to have him drop the bombshell on her after the break that mom and dad kicked him out of the cloud and asks her if he can crash with her for a while.

Doesn't seem like it considering Fluttershy is the one who will convince him to move out of his parents' house. I'd imagine it will be Fluttershy dropping in for a visit, seeing the way his brother treats her parents and offering to take him in for a while.

That said, the episode dealing with a mature real-world problem could backfire in so many ways if not handled properly. The synopsis describing Fluttershy's brother as a freeloader and saying that she should stand up to him don't do much to level out his fear of failure. I have faith that the show can at least pull it off in a realistic manner.

You're right! I misread the first sentence of the premise and missed the part about her convincing him to move out of their parent's house. This is good then that we'll get to see her parents, though it probably means my headcannon that her parents are disappointed in her because she decided to live like an Earth Pony will probably get stomped out, lol.

What if her brother's special talent is building robots? As silly as it is hear me out.

1. It would make him a unique counterpart to Fluttershy.

2. It would justify why he is worried about failure (his talent makes creations that could terrify or offend others who are not familiar with robots)

3. It would explain why he spends so much time at home

4. It would give him a very useful talent and make him a character we want to see more.

Same could be said with creating anything, I think robots is too large of an assumption, and not to be racist(to pegasi not robots lol) but how would a robot float on clouds?

Anyways it sounds like this season is going to include a decent amount of mature morals stories/themes. Like no second prances had a mature theme and I enjoyed that. And honestly, will kids even remember the morals all the time? I think morals for adults might be better and kids can learn from that too since it'd be geared towards their future it sorta trusts kids to deal with more mature elements, and assuming kids are stupid is sorta how MLP went down the drain before gen 4.

After reading the synopsis I'm really looking forward to this episode. It's really cool that Fluttershy has a brother of her own and I wonder what her brother will look like. I also do wonder if we are going to see what Fluttershy's parents will look like and if her brother will be younger, older, or even her twin. I'm also looking forward to how she will help her brother in overcoming his fear of failure. This is because I can relate in having a fear of failing others myself, and I wonder how the episode will be written out to solve a problem like this.
