Personally, out of all of the gremlins that I know have names, I like Brain the best. (one with glasses/could talk)

Because he could talk, his voice, and the fact that he spoke of civilization, he was the least scary of them all.

Who's your favorite gremlin?

I remember these! Oh boy, these bring back memories. I think I'm going to have to go find my Gremlins DVD and go watch this movie again. The midnight rule always confused me when I was a kid. Because if you can't feed him after midnight, is that like forever or just for the day? I'm assuming just for the day. So you can't feed him in the early hours of the day as it's after midnight, but then wouldn't noon, and the afternoon still be midnight? Argh!

Brain too,he's friggin awesome.Tony Randall did a great job voicing him.Him singing Sinatra's New York is one of my childhood's greatest moments. There's also Daffy(the mad one) he's just as chaotic as Discord and Pinkie together,George(the big lipped one) and his partner Lenny(the idiot one). But my most favorite is definitely Mohawk He's got the best design of them all, more so than Stripe

I've only seen clips of these movies (The Snow White clip from the first, as well as the Looney Tunes opening sequence, both "Gremlins ruin the movie halfway through" sequences, and the New York, New York scene from the second film), but I do have the DVD of the first one. My sister had a Gizmo plushie, but I think the head fell off.

Here is a funny article from X Entertainment about the second film teaching you a life lesson:

The original scared the everlasting shit out of me when I was a kid. I dunno why, maybe it was the idea of something cute and lovable suddenly turning violent, maybe it was the idea of little creatures that could hide and get you no matter where you went, maybe it was the idea that these things could multiply if they touched water, meaning they could never fully be destroyed, maybe it was the designs themselves. But I think that the most likely reason of all was the final line of the movie stating that there was the possibility that there may be a gremlin in my house.

And don't any of you people tell me "they're just kids movies, man." They were always meant to be horror comedy; the original draft called for both the dog and the mom to be killed (Billy would witness her head being ripped off and thrown down the stairs) and for the gremlins to actually eat people. Even the final toned-down-on-Spielberg's-advice version pushed the boundaries of PG and almost got and R rating. Not to mention the scene where one of the characters tells the potentially child-filled audience that Santa Claus isn't real and she discovered this via her father's corpse.

You know, for kids.

Big fan and I have both films on DVD.  Did play Gremlins 2 on the NES a few times.

Anyone who has Max, I recommend the animated show Gremlins Secret if the Mogwai.

In fact the show is returning in October 3rd under the title Gremlins The Wild Batch:

Yep, I love the movies and watched the show too,

The rules make no sense. They changed the "after midnight" to something about the moon in the show, didn't they? Still weird.

Yeah, Gremlins is one of those films that fall apart if you think about them too much.

Yeah, I never really got into the Gremlins movies. I saw them when I was young and never cared for them. They don’t hold up under scrutiny and, as I recall, didn’t deliver enough entertainment to justify overlooking its shortcomings. I do like all things ‘80s though, so maybe I’ll revisit them sometime and see if my old opinions still stand (but I expect they will).
