gaming Pokémon Go Is Finally Out

I haven't even had to really travel. All I had to do was spend a shift at work. I swear new Pokemon popped up everytime I opened up the app on my phone. I didn't even have to walk around the workplace much.

But yes, it is interesting that there is a game that is about actually getting people outside. I noticed it also puts stops at churches...

...Oh. I see what this game is all about now. :okiedokieloki:

Ah that's true too, have seen trainers catch Eevees on their beds and Dragonites (?!) in their driveways.  Guess it just depends.

As for the churches…!  About every single casino on the Vegas strip has at least one Pokestop too, so.  Porn shops…lots of those, also good for stocking up on Pokeballs.  ^_^

So I have a fun story of what just happened to me. Me and my brother are on the same team, so he drove me into town to a nearby gym. We took it over together for Yellow Team, and set some Pokémon to defend it. Meanwhile, a couple other people drove into the parking lot together to try to capture it back for Red Team, we were placing our Pokémon in to defend it as fast as they could take them out. We both ran out of good Pokémon and potions, so we put in weaker Pokémon just to buy time while we drove by three nearby Pokéstops to get potions for our good Pokémon. Right when we were about to pull back into the gym the server crashed. We got to talking to the other people, and they were about to defeat my Venonat when it crashed. They were all nice people.

So far this isn't out here in Europe, or if it is then it isn't available on Android.

Nonetheless, it hasn't stopped me hearing reports of Pokemon appearing in the strangest places for some people. The worst (and incidentally hilarious) I've heard is a Magikarp being found in a frying pan. :P

Go was supposed to come out very soon in the UK but as of today, it's been "paused" while issues with the lonely server are worked out.   Rest of Europe to follow, can assume.

Magikarp has also been spotted in the fresh section at a mart..  This game is endless fun~  (or it looks that way. *hasn't been able to sign in since the first time, SNIFF*)

Pokemon Go is as exciting as I thought it would be (since I was one of the beta-testers but anyways...), and I've been finding many people everywhere I go trying to capture pokemon or just playing the game in general. Quite entertaining, in my opinion.

As for me, I've found a Weedle inside a Victoria's Secret...don't ask why I was there, be more concerned about that Weedle.

Pokemon go is cool if you actual live in city limits. I have no poke stops near me and only bug, water, and normal type pokemon around me. I live near the ocean which is like the only good part. The game crashes a lot but otherwise its made me go outside more than usual

Got in, played, and it's so fun!!!!!  As expected.  need actual walking shoes, desperately.  Creeping up on the YMCA, literally hugging the walls in the back by the dumpsters to catch an Abra…ah sweet memories were created on this night.  At least twenty other trainers encountered in a two-mile radius (Suburb with a bigass park.) and I caught 25 Pokemon.   It is truly a world of dreams and adventure…  :rarity:

It sucks for players in very rural areas, though, with few Ingress portals and thus few Pokestops and gyms..  A ton of complaints are being made, though, so hopefully that'll be improved soon.  Might mean now is a good time for a road trip, though.

but yo.  for all that walking, growlithe was almost always in the nearby menu but never got closer than three pawprints.  Elusive guy.  Not to be triangulated solely on foot for sure.

I'm hoping to take a trip into town soon to see if there are any good Pokéstops or gyms, and hopefully go to the local park. I really hope to find a Growlithe, because Arcanine is my favorite Pokémon.

This is so frustrating, I've been waiting for ages for this to come out, and it's soooo close (in the UK) - hopefully they will get those server issues sorted out soon so I can get hunting :D

In the mean time I'll just have to stick to checking the App Store ever 5 minutes to see if it's on there yet XD

Pokémon Go has done what nothing else has ever done…get me to exercise. I just walked 6 kilometers in the last hour. Maybe Pokémon will finally be what gets me in shape.

That's awesome, I think that was part of the idea of this game (and ingress), to try to get people outside/exercising for fun, instead of seeing it as a chore. It looks like it is working :)

Oh god I check Pokemon GO like every hour.. at least it makes me get up off my butt and take walks. :P

There are plenty of glitches out there already! And the servers do seem to crash a lot. Hopefully they'll get fixed soon!

So I checked my town so I could defeat some gyms today and some guy a team mystic jerk everyone knows valor is the best took over every gym in said town with a CP 478 Pidgeot called BIRD JESUS. gg I'll need to train my CP 356 All Terrain Venomoth a bit more >_<

Oh, I also got a 10km egg. I've heard people have hatched Dratinis, Aerodactyls, and Laprases from 10kms so hopefully I get a good one.

When you beat BIRD JESUS, you need to name that Pokémon something like Lucifer, so you can say that you had Lucifer beat Jesus.

*sigh* I have to wait for Pokemon GO to be released in my country next month. Oh well.

I wonder, does the app only contain Pokemon from the first generation or all Pokemon?

Today I finally installed Pokemon Go and I am enjoying it so far.

Besides my starter being Squirtle I have caught a Venonat which I didn't expect to be found where I am from, a Rattata, and a Pidgey.

I am amazed with just how big the game has become in a grand total of 3 days.

@@Photon Jet,

Only first generation Pokemon, but that doesn't apply to types and moves; I have a Jigglypuff with the move Play Rough and it's a Fairy type, and apparently people found Moonblast in the code. So there will probably be updates that add in future generations.

Well, we might as well stick to first generation Pokemon from now on before that update arrives.

I downloaded the game, but I don't understand how to catch any Pokemon. I turn on the game and look at the map, but no Pokemon appear. Do I have to tap on something first? I see a few Pokemon in the "Nearby" box, but none of them show up on the map, even when I zoom out

You have to walk around until they pop up, then tap on em.

This game is amazing.

Is there any way to know if you're going in the right direction? All of my Pokemon seem to be staying at 3 footprints.

Not sure. I think you just have to walk around and find em. That's what I've been doing.

Reddit seems to be agreeing that if you highlight a Pokemon in the Nearby menu, your avatar will turn in the correct direction.  Can be difficult, though.  Gotta get that triangulation going- bike-riding or skateboarding is recommended if you're tracking a 3 paw Pokemon.

Also.  TEAM YELLOW.   :squee:  :proud:

Seriously, this game is not good for your health. I am going to walk myself to death one of these days. I have caught more than 100 Pokemon. All without driving once, just walking. This is coming from a lazy nerd who hates the outdoors! I have walked so much collecting Pokemon that sometimes I almost collapse form exhaustion (it does not help that I live in the desert). Seriously, I walk all the way to the park (there is a Pokestop there) and back up to 4 times a day!

*Edit: Also, by the way, join team red.
