Pinkie Pie is kind of a tomboy despite her name

Well, if we categorize the Mane6 with a simple tomboy and girly girl, it's safe to tag Rarity and Flutters as the girliest of the group, AJ and Dashie as the tomboys, but Twi and Pinks in middle ground.

About Pinks being a tomboy, it's kind too simple of an answer.

She doesn't have that raspy voice that most tomboys have so I wouldn't really call her a tomboy, keep in mind that I'm comparing pinky to dash in this instance.

I've said this before but female characters never strike me as masculine or like a boy. When a girl is a tomboy, she's like a girl that is less feminine but not masculine, that's just a border that can't be crossed sometimes a girl can be feminine to me even though others perceive it as tomboyish behavior. Having a pushy personality for example many perceive that as tomboyish behavior but for me there is a difference in how women are pushy and how men are pushy. As for Pinkie Pie well she doesn't seem very tomboyish to me. Rainbow Dash is actually the only tomboy of the mane six, Applejack is a bit on the tomboyish side as well but just half of her is a tomboy I mean she likes to cook, get together with people and takes care of her little sister, that's pretty girly to me.

And back to Pinkie Pie, she likes to party, get together with other ponies, loves to have fun, girls tend to strive on social environments and her using any possible situation as an excuse to celebrate and have a party is very girly to me. Men tend to not have a celebration at the drop of a hat and aren't keen on organizing one unless they're trying to get something out of it.

It's only her that can pull off being "Pinkie Pie". She's more than a fun loving party happy pony and deep inside she's brave, strong, willful, and persistent. Characteristics depicted in her own nature and that is what greatly expand her personality, her character as a whole. She may not exhibit the most feminine characteristics by her name and her appearance but its redundant to whatever role and action that she affiliates with a girly name. It's her, it's Pinkie Pie.

I dunno, I just don't think Pinkie Pie is much of a tomboy, but I don't see her as girly girl either, she's somewhere in the middle. The way I see it each character has their own unique personality trait. Pinkie Pie is random, Applejack's a country girl, Rarity's got a passion for fashion, Fluttershy is... Well, it says it in her name, no need to explain that. Rainbow Dash is the tomboy, and Twilight is the Smart one.

We should stop using this word: tomboy.

Society:

"Hey sports are for boys!

Being tough is for boys!

If you're not tough then you are a pu**y!

Girls can't be tough and should not be tough!

My Little Pony is for girls! Guys who watch mlp are girly so it makes them not tough! Fag***s!

Gender stereotypes are awesome! Am I right?"

Gender stereotypes need to stop. -_-
