Actor and Comedian Gene Wilder died today at the age of 83 in conneticut. He died on the complications of his Alzheim disease, which he had to fight with for a long time.

Wilder was in the 70s and 80s one of the most comical actors in the united states, with movies like Blazing Saddles, Frankenstein Junior and most famously, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

My deepest sympathy to the Family. May he rest in peace. :(

An actor who truly went the distance, and played some incredible parts over his extensive career, no less than his definitive role as Willy Wonka. I'm happy he is at peace and spent his last moments with his family, but he will truly be missed by the acting world. :(

I personally will always remember his role as the 'Waco Kid':

RIP Mr. Wilder.

That's really sad... May he rest in peace indeed. My favorite line of his in Willy Wonka was:

"The suspense is terrible. ...I hope it will last."

The unasked questions are what bother me, not the answers. The answers give me clarity. Silence is in its self an answer, so ask! To not ask is to deny the existence of said question, and leaves you with just "what if".

Thank you for the "Pure Imagination" you gave us as Willy Wonka, Mr. Wilder. Rest in peace.

This is just depressing. He will be truly remembered through the years. So many good actors and musicians are dying this year and yet all the bad ones like Bieber remain alive. That makes no sense! :(

He was a massive part of our childhoods to this very day, and seeing the news that he is now dead is just devastating to hear :(

2016, you will be remembered as the year you've taken the greatest people we've known since the very beginning away from us.

His Willy Wonka performance will always stick with me. It was perfection. Cooky, unpredictable, sometimes harsh but in the end very kindhearted. To me, nobody has topped that performance as Wonka. He at least isn't suffering now, as his condition was probably in a bad place. I will definitely miss him though.

Such a shame that such a great actor has gone. He had a long life, though.

Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite comedic movies. Classic.
