What do you think My Little Pony will be like in 5 years? Do you think it will flourish? Do you think it will fizzle out? If so, how? Personally, I have no clue, I don't think anything so friendly and accepted, yet against the general expectations of society has happened in the history of Mankind, I'm interested to see your responses!

Oh, and sorry for kinda spamming the recent topics ;)

Personally I think the show will change, like... They won't make it for children, they'll start and make it for men. Since thats their best audience.

Well, I think....

That would be horrible, It wouldn't be enjoyable anymore

Don't worry, I don't think they will "start making it for men"

It is working at its current state, I see no reason why they would change that aspect.

Ponies are by nature a feminine attraction within the humane society for some odd reason. You could be standing next to a real pony and say to your friend "I want to ride that pony" and I'd guarantee you a mocking reaction. For this obscure reason it is virtually impossible to market "Pony" to a male audience.

As for the show FiM, it takes what is acknowledged by the human society and plays on it incredibly well in a way that is suited to the tastes of either gender. Whatever the individuals reasons are would be the same of their general lifestyle preferences I guess.

Also, we're seeing some drops from the staff already, but the brand itself has been running for over 20 years. In this spectrum, if they were smart they would keep the current foundation the series is on now and shuffle staff that can continue and improve on this vision Lauren created over the years, while understanding that the demographic would always have to be towards females.

Cartoony-looking 3D animation. I'd say they'll return to the original anatomy for that, seeing the current one wouldn't (imo) look well in 3D.

No idea. I'm also a bit questioning what happens to the bronies? Will they be there even after 5 years, or is it just a phenomenom for a year or two?

Hope they won't botch the future episodes.

personally, i think FiM will be no longer aired after 5 years. the MLP franchise will continue going on, but FiM, its characters, and its world, will no longer be aired after 5 years.

now, as for what direction MLP will take then, and if Studio B will keep pursuing it into a different, fresh direction, i have no idea.

How long was Spongebob actually good?

That's what I think will happen. Funny show stays the same but eventually jumps shark, as all shows do.

^^ this is what is most likely to happen to the show. it runs out of charm, ideas, and humour, and becomes another stale cartoon.

my only wish is that this show actually WILL end sometime, with a proper ending to close the show. making it end on a good note rather than letting it become another Spongebob.

If a show starts of good, it is doomed to become worse, ie Spongebob.

But MLP FiM does have the huge fanbase of music and arts, so in 5 years the show might stop airing or become worse. But instead of just down right falling, some fans might choose to create the spinoff shows based off of different ideas, like Fallout Equestria.

Also, there has to be an ending to FiM, Twilight can't keep on going to find friendship problems, cue season 2 episode 3, which is an issue to the show itself.

I would love to learn how to shuffle. Just like this

That's why the Princess has them ALL write to her now. I c wat u did thar, writing team. Take the focus off of your main character and open up story avenues not previously accessible.

Well yes there will eventually be some sort of decline after some seasons.

I just don't want it to end up like Spongebob where they lose all their talent at once and the show goes in free fall.

I don't know if the show will last that long. The brand definitely isn't going anywhere though. As far as the toys, I think the ponies will slowly mutate, keep getting skinnier, their eyes will get bigger and their muzzles will shrink. At least that's been the trend for the last 20+ years!

My hopes is that it doesn't decline into what the original MLP was...a crappy cartoon only on TV so they can sell their toys.

I wonder if Lauren Faust would ever return to something she left...I highly doubt it but that would be awesome if she gets it back on track if it happens to derail :D

Well I'm going to do an in depth prediction here...

I say that Season 2 will have its risks but will still be a good season that some will say even surpasses the first season.

Season 3 will try a little too hard to capitalize on the Brony fan base. They'll even go as far to give Derpy Whooves a small speaking role as Ditzie Doo. Though this season will tank as "not quite as good as the last season". There will also be a feature length Christmas Special that most fans will condemn as a lame Christmas tie in.

The 4th Season will be a "Hit and Miss" season where most of the episodes will be like Season 3 (kind of boring), a few will be good and being more reminiscent of Season 1. A couple episodes will go off in their own tangent by taking strange risks.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: The Movie is aired on the HUB. The Movie seems to be in the same spirit as the first 2 seasons, but has its flaws like season 3. The movie brings back the Brony spirit that was lost after Season 4.

Season 5 turns out to be the worst season. They try to capitalize on the male audience by adding a Mane 7th pony that is male who (to capitalize on the ageing female fanbase) they have this character work as a romance arc for Twilight Sparkle. This episode tries entirely too hard trying too many big things. Most episodes are 2 parters to try and capture these big concepts. Most fans who truly care for the shows health agree that the series should've closed up shop with the movie even though the movie wasn't perfect.

There's a second feature length film that basically works as a closing for the series. Most fans will say that the movie wasn't perfect, but it proves a definitive end for the series.

Unfortunately the series is still later milked out in straight to dvd movies that feel completely uninspired cries for attention. Most remaining Bronies (the fad died out with still a few more dedicated forums still going) pretty much ignore these. There's even a few creepy looking 3D animated movies that Bronies openly despise!

Eventually MLP decides to revive it's self through a new series on the HUB. However the series is entirely 3D animated and it mostly reverts back to it's old ways before FiM, though it still at times tries to bring Bronies back.

There's a famous Japanese Anime versions of the Ponies of FiM. Bronies say that this series is a step up from the garbage of today, but feels more like "Hit and Miss" like MLPFiM Season 4, but mostly miss. This series mostly attracts the female audience of Japan.

I swear I'll probably shit myself if this is close to correct! (Probably way off with the Japanese version. I just wanna see what Japanese animators would do with the ponies)

[New siggy in progress!]

From the looks of things, the second season is clearly improving from the first. Most TV shows, whether they be cartoons or not, tend to get better as they go along. Then suddenly take a daring change that often people don't like and they lose many of their viewers. The one thing about shows designed for kids though? They tend to keep the same focus throughout the series.

The one thing that might change is the voice actors, but I seriously doubt that would have much of an effect on the shows ratings. (Unless of course they get Chuck Norris to voice Twilight) So I'm confident the show will stay popular amongst kids and bronies alike until the series is over with. Hopefully that won't be for another 20 years or so ;)
