Anyone else ready for G5?

Generation 5 of the My Little Pony franchise is full of unknowns...hard to be ready for something we can't see.

 

From what I think, after Gen 4 ends, a few years might pass before we hear rumors of something new. I would hope that we see something new yet familiar to old time fans.

 

But, the reason why Gen 4 had such an appeal was because we had a person in charge with the vision to break new ground. Faust blended the familiar with something new. Unless we get someone like her in charge of a future gen, there's a 50/50 chance of it being another Gen 3. There's a chance they'll try to change things too but who knows whether they will be good changes. The animation style for example. I don't see a need to do much with that. But they might try something new.

G5 is the answer to keeping MLP and bronies kicking and fresh. With a G5 the fandom will have a longer reason to stay active as long as its good.

MLP has been around in a number of incarnations since the early 80s, and given the huge (and largely unexpected) success of G4, do you really think Hasbro are suddenly going to put the franchise out to pasture after G4 comes to an end?  There is no official announcement of a G5 yet (after all, they aren't even finished with 4 yet), but of course there will be one, even if we have no idea what it is going to look like yet.

G5 could be along the lines of the early generations for all we know in the way that it is just targeted at little girls.  G4 is not as good as it used to but I still like it so I'm not really looking foreword to the end all that much.

Those who I think the main characters will be for Season 8 -- that's Starlight Glimmer, Spike, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie -- will also be main characters in G5 when most of us stop becoming fans of My Little Pony, while the rest of the Mane Six, who I think will be downgraded to secondary characters -- that's Twilight, Rainbow, Applejack, and Rarity -- will remain secondary characters.

Animation for G5 will very likely be in CGI, like Disney, Pixar, Illumination, and Sony Pictures movies.

I don't think Gen 5 would happen for a while after gen 4 ends, but I do want a g5, but most of all, the max amount of seasons we need for gen4 is 10. anymore, and it'll be like spongebob and the simpsons

In the odd chance that they can create something completely new and better than FiM (unlikely), then I would be fine retiring G4. The show has had a good run and I'd hate to see it become a shadow of its former self like The Simpsons became. 

But a safer option might be to create a spin-off series since this show has acquired so many fans. Perhaps they could set it decades into the future with new characters like a new Mane 6? That could work quite well. You would no longer have to be up to date with everything in G4 so that newbies can easily jump in, but all the older fans can catch all the referencing and instantly be familiar with the setting.

Whether they create a spin-off or completely reboot the show, they can create a new art style and do some really new things with it!

For me it is hard to say. I like the show and the designs but I do not really like the 'new' style (G4.5). 

However, it is hard to know if I would like the G5 style. The show could tank and the figures could be really unpopular. On the other hand though maybe the figures will be gorgeous and have a massive amount of variety with a good show. For those reasons I can't say if I am ready for G5 or not because we simply don't know what it will be and thus can never really be prepared.

With the COVID-19 and COPPA working together, we will probably not see MLP in a while (at least not this year). I really wanted to see Pony Life

That makes sense, since most movies got delayed in production anyways. I don;t care what other said about pony life, but I think they are pretty adorable and looks fun to watch too!

Thanks! Well, Hasbro is violating my eyes! That is real glitter they are forcing me to put in there!
I heard the MLP the Movie cast actually got blind from wearing too much glitter in their eyes (you can see how their pupils are already faded into gray in the Movie)

Only the brightest, at the Hasbro, Inc!

Their decisions of trying to make a web series (commercial for children) on Youtube, with the slogan "Feeling good ad h*ll", at the same time as COPPA happened, really shows they are either very unlucky or worse.
