Why are there planes on Jet Set's cutie mark but nowhere else?

Ever notice how there are planes on Jet Set's cutie mark, but nowhere else? It's just 'plane' weird. My theory is that when he was a colt, Jet Set and one of his parents were mining for diamonds in the Canterlot Caves, when Jet Set spied a plane from the human era. The family fixed it up, and brought it to the airport thing we saw in Becoming Popular. And so Jet Set got his cutie mark.

The comics have television. We know that Ponyville prefers to use simpler technology so that is why we don't see a lot of it. It exists but culturally the ponies don't use much of it.

We also have prehistoric-era creatures

 

Planes on a pony's butt isn't all that odd in comparison

 

We've also got, what, a dozen ponies with moons and suns on their butts that aren't Luna or Celestia?

Does that mean they can move the sun and moon by themselves?

My theory about computers is this:

Computers exist in Equestria, but aren't the most popular. This is evidenced in episodes like The Saddle Row Review and Magic Duel. It also explains how Twilight took a relatively short time to figure out the workings of the computer in Equestria Girls. She'd seen them here and there, but wasn't 100% sure on how they worked.

Of course computers could be at the same level as they were when space invaders was an arcade game.  If the tech level is 1970s(but not late 1970s) computers were:

 

1) Very expensive.

2) Not Very useful.

3) Made by enthusiasts with a kit.

 

An example is the altair 8800

The Flim Flam brothers were using a digger-like thing in an alternate timeline from The Cutie Re-mark. Think they'd still have it in the normal timeline?

Those humanoid creatures don't seem smart enough to make a robot. Ponies seem most technologically advanced but 90% of the time they're walking on fours and are less humanoid in physical appearance so they wouldn't build a robot that would look like a humanoid but a pony.

Ponies might build a humanoid robot. Some of the first mechanical toys that humans made were of animals. The ponies would see a toy humanoid the same way we see a toy horse.
