leonbrony17 1,216 October 17, 2016 #1 Share October 17, 2016 I know the time will come for a real live action movie of mlp fim. And we all know i will be a great blockbuster for all of us. Transformers got real movie, ninja turtles got a real movie and many other most popular toys got real movies. So why not our fandom ? Even if it takes 5 - 10 or more years to make such a movie, I know everypony -brony would like it. Just write what you think about this
Mothra 704 October 17, 2016 #2 Share October 17, 2016 (edited) Oh please god no. Well, the problem I have with both TMNT and Transformers is Bay, so as long as he isnt in charge, that's a step up. But would MLP really work as a live action movie? Im assuming the characters would all have to be cgi (cant see them painting a horse pink and forcing it to act) and then for it to be live action we'd need humans, which was a thing in previous gens, this time around we got alternate universes for equestria and earth, even though Im sure there are people that would like to see a crossover of sorts between the 2. I'd say let's just stick with season 7 and the remaining movies Edited October 17, 2016 by Magistrate Mothra
Hazard Time 1,127 October 17, 2016 #3 Share October 17, 2016 It's a terrible idea and I hope it never happens. If it does, I can only see it turning out like the Smurfs or Chipmunks movies. PacificGreen 1,163 October 30, 2016 #7 Share October 30, 2016 I honestly don't really see how it could happen. Our little ponies probably look best in 2D; 3D would just be kinda uncanny; it would probably be OK for online fan-animations, but it would be hard to make it work for the big screen. Additionally, I don't really see a reason why it should be live-action; most live-action-with-animation movies are that way so that they can have human actors, and seeing that there are no humans in Equestria...well, G1 had them, but that's another story. If an MLP movie were to be made similar to the TMNT movies, it would probably just be straight up 3D animation a la Disney or Dreamworks. No live action people. 2 "Why should the Bill of Rights be in the official time capsule, but this painting of my dog is in time capsule 7?" -Parks and Recreation, Time Capsule -----Visit my deviantART HERE. Number62 1,258 October 30, 2016 #11 Share October 30, 2016 Why does there need to be a live-action version of MLP? How would using "actual" horses as characters and doing the things we see (especially talk) in MLP:FIM not look silly? Cartoons can do way more with its medium than live-action since the latter needs to look "realistic". Animated movies nowadays can make a huge profit, so not being live-action isn't much of a problem anymore. And would anyone have begged for a Simpsons live-action movie even back in its glory days?

Oleks 1,993 October 30, 2016 #13 Share October 30, 2016 I don’t think they’ll ever make an MLP FIM live action movie. However, an EG live action movie seems possible, although the possibility is very low. Rather it seems like something they’d have done in the 90s, not nowadays. Anyways, it most likely will be bad. Cartoons should stay cartoons, at least the cartoons featuring non-humans as main characters.

RivkaBobble 110 October 31, 2016 #16 Share October 31, 2016 Please no. Most cartoons that try to find their way into the live-action world don't do so great. Some cartoons that are brilliant and are known as very well made cartoons have a live action film made of them...and it sucks. Just no. Merrypaws 71 October 31, 2016 #18 Share October 31, 2016 Disregarding the sheer atrocity that are the recent cartoon-based films, I'm just sitting here wondering how it would even be possible to make a live-action movie of MLP, especially the FIM incarnation. If you wanted the characters to even distantly resemble the show, they would have to be CGI, and same for most of the locations and scenery too... what would there be left to film for real?
