He's not really a fan of it but has been watching due to a bet. I am curious, if you just watched S1 would you think of Twilight as kind of a jerk? Sunny Fox 5,952 October 31, 2016 Share October 31, 2016 She had certain character flaws that hadn't been smoothed over by her development over the seasons, so yes, she was a bit of jerk sometimes in season 1. Consider her behaviour with Pinkie, first in Griffon the Brushoff, where she gave advice despite giving less than half an ear to actually listening to Pinkie, and therefore got it totally wrong, and her misapplication of science in Feeling Pinkie Keen. I'm sure I can find other examples. But she needed some flaws to work on, because a perfect character is boring to watch. ponykittylonelygirl 73 October 31, 2016 Share October 31, 2016 They were all a bit two dimensional in the first season, and Twilight's inability to understand friendship was what really drove the narrative forward, so they did need to accentuate some of those 'jerk'-ish reactions. It makes for nice character development now that she's the princess of friendship. They could all be that way though, the sleepover episode with Applejack and Rarity can be cringe-worthy and Rainbow Dash always has her moments. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This was the Twilight that made me a fan of her, she was adventurous, she had an interesting personality, she often went to new places and she wasn't one dimensional. Now I think that she is a bit of a jerk right now, she's too self centred, can't seem to let go of her past and she's too one dimensional now, I mean when was the last time she baked a cake or doing hobbies with her friends? She is still learning at that point, we have to remember that she lived, drank and breathed school and only school. Going into social situations after a life of solitude is tough and you have to genuinely try your hardest to get used to talking to other humans before they bully you for trying to get used to it. Does make it seems she is jerk..but i think that is more of a trusting issues. But yes when it come to her pride of know-it-all..yes she can and still a jerk. Of course Twilight would had been a jerk in either being arrogant, blinded, naive and clueless about how friendship things work. I think you meant Rainbow dash who is the bigger jerk than pinkie, because she just so selfish and very inconsiderate toward her friends.let alone being blunt in a less nicer way than pinkie. And i think pinkie isnt all arrogant toward situations when someone is down or something is bothering them. No, I'd say she was being mis-informed about certain aspects of those she has interacted with since she first came to Ponyville. She was still new to the idea of having friends in her life so she would revert back to her original way of thinking when it comes to her perspective on the idea. But yeah, she was rather bitchy, but that is OK, they accepted her, and so did all of us, and look where she is now?? Princess of friendship. The moral of this tale is...
