Are you glad to see the Mane Six and co. after hiatus?

This sounds like an odd question but I wanted to see if anypony felt the same as I did on the matter. See a long while back during Bronycon, I bought Rainbow Rocks and was watching it in my hotel room. Keep in mind this was between seasons. The movie doesn't begin in Equestria of course but when Sunset Shimmer says those three magical words and our perspective zaps to Ponyville, I'm filled with an odd feeling. Nostalgia, yes, but almost like a feeling of, "I haven't seen you guys in so long! It's great to see you!" Just seeing the Mane Six sit in the throne room doing their various activities filled me with a feeling of being home.

I have said briefly before that when the show does inevitably end, there will be tears from me. That's chiefly because it would mean it would be the last I would see of the Mane Six. It sounds silly but they have made that deep a connection with me.

Does anypony share this same feeling?

There was the time in the season 5 premiere, where after such a painfully long hiatus, I was excited to see the show finally continue. But now that the hiatuses have gotten a lot shorter and I have a good amount of shows that I am watching some of which, like Steven Universe I enjoy more than FIM, I don't think I have that same kind of excitement waiting between seasons that I had from season 3 to 4 or 4 to 5. But than again this may be because of how long I have been watching the show. I still really enjoy FIM and will have good memories from it, especially seeing Rainbow Rocks in theaters, but I think it is getting time to wrap things up and end things on a high note. Which is what I hope the movie will be able to do.

This is a good question. I never actually thought of this in depth, but looking back, seeing these beloved characters back for new adventures and stories after a long wait always did make me feel this sorta warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Every season premiere has done that for me and usually the episode after that too. At this point it is a strange mixture of happiness, nostalgia and relief. The nostalgia comes from the fact that the show has been around for 6 years now, which is nuts, and the relief is a different one. It is like a feeling of comfort that the show is still going.

No doubt season 7 will do the exact same thing again. :yay:

Yes I very much understand. We all have an emotional connection to at least one of them. Mine is RARITY!!!!!

And I will be sad to see her go.

Yeah, for me it really is all of them. The side characters for sure but the Mane Six and Spike really will be missed by yours truly. Yes I can see them basically whenever I want but the fact that I won't see anything new of their lives will hit me eventually.

Then again I'm talking a complete hypothetical for now. I have the next season AND the movie to look forward to!

A part of me feels so glad to see our 6 friends again but another part of me also feels like they should enlist a new group of ponies to carry on the torch. Of course, the original mane 6 is great and the nostalgia is high but I just feel like maybe with another set of new characters the show can somehow change into something fresh or go into a new direction with new characters arcs and goals.

Who isn't! :D Well that is, if they all be treated fairly in the premiere. Like when the Remane Five barely do anything like in The Crystalling, or Spike in The Cutie Map. It would be really awesome if the Remane Five had as much usefulness as the season 4 premiere, and Spike in the season 6 premiere! That would make an awesome season 7 premiere! :D

I'm happy to see them and it quickly morphs to disgust as the writers take a beloved character and rip them to pieces to justify an awful plotline

Cart Before The Ponies, Tanks For The Memories, Princess Spike, The Crystalling, The Cutie Remark, etc

I'm always looking forward to see 'em horses  :rarity: . Sure, rewatching episodes, and EG movies is fine and all, but feels like just remembering the good times with friends that aren't at your side right now  :adorkable: . But new episodes are always welcome because you catch up with your good friends after summer  :please:
