Alright, well first off, Jennifer Skelly ain't coming back this season. The genius behind Buckball Season and Snails having the spotlight! So much for Snips in the spotlight! XD

So far the only returning writers is GM Berrow with 2 episodes, the Fox bros with 2, and Nick with 1. And since it's confirmed a 26-episode season, we're gonna have ALOT of new writers! More than last season!

Means that my prediction of a completely different season may be coming true, it's hard to have a similar season from the previous if most of the writers from that season already left.

I can only hope that they didn't ruin Starlight or AJ for this season.

I hope it doesn't ruin ANY character! I want all the characters to shine this season in their own way! They all deserve it! Each Mane Six deserves their little time to shine, so does Starlight, and the CMCs, and even Spike!

This comment isn't directly for you when I say this, RDashie, if's for everyone reading it: new writers means new opportunities! Doesn't mean the season will be bad! We don't know! It just makes the season mysterious for us! :3

I'm still dreading to see if Dave Rapp and FM D Marco are returning :P

I don't have a problem with new writers in general(though the fact that the better ones are leaving is a bit concerning) my issue is that with season 6 it felt like most of the new writers didn't do their homework(not to mention I found Haber to be a pretty lousy story editor), and I still feel that could still be an issue for S7

I'm good for new writers because there isn't that many cartoons in current running. Just as long they don't have some ulterior motive to use the show as their own personal platform.

I'm definitely interested to see how this season turns out with so much new blood. Then again, S6 had a lot of new blood, and it turned out pretty good in my opinion. Still, its sort of a wildcard in the sense that we have no idea what to expect from these people in terms of writing quality. I'm optimistic though!

New writers are always a good thing because they are clean slates though this does mean making a good first impression is important in the eyes of a fandom who looks at every last thing in a given episode.

Who knows what fates holds for ponies. What I can say, many of the new writers started weak in S6, but came back strong. still, I'm not that comfortable with gambling so much with so many new writers

After hearing so many writers left the show, i am starting losing confident.  :( I hope the show can prove me wrong once again

Starlight Glimmer is a new character & Trixie has been upgraded to a new character (from occasional guest).  I hope I'm wrong, but new characters & new writers are classic signs a show is in trouble. :adorkable:

Not necessarily.  The same thing happened in Power Rangers Turbo, but then we got Power Rangers in Space right after that and the show bounced back.

Not to mention, the Pokémon anime has been rotating in new characters and new writers for twenty years now.  Granted I don't personally care for the anime, but it's still insanely popular among kids and teenagers.

Hopefully the new blood will undo what the old guard have done and fix the characters

Twilight is in desperate need of competence

Heck, all of the Princesses need a boost

I blame Haber and Vogel for making Twilight easily overpowered by Changelings, and not even bothering to explain how.

If I were to guess, their answer would be "very carefully."

I was hoping last season's writers could iron out their deficiencies in S7, but a whole new batch of writers means a whole new assortment of people who need to get used to the show's style sand format, which is worrying even though it usually meant fresh stories in S6. That season had its quirks but I found it to be a breath of fresh air, so I'm hoping the new writers do their homework, but also that they provide new angles like season 6 did. Maybe one of them can make Twilight interesting again!

they had to worf them all to shill starlight last season; Twilight literally had her episodes sacrificed to be Starlight episodes for example.

I was worried for season 6 and I liked it a lot, so this time I'll have faith and see what happens. New writers come with fresh ideas, which is good, and it also means the old writers won't let the show die by losing inspiration (which would happen at some point were the writers permanent), but the episodes of the new writers might not be too well implemented because they lack the experience of writing for this show, not to mention it's more plot-heavy than it has ever been with 140 episodes, so it might also be hard for them to be consistent.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Berrow's episodes because I loved The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows, also to Nick's (I'm disappointed he'll only write one though), and I hope Vogel and Rapp return as well.

(edited)

In the past two seasons, every one of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy's episodes mostly came from new writers. If we're getting a lot of new writers in Season 7, I suppose that means we're in for a lot more major roles for our pink and yellow pony friends.

What I'm NOT expecting from these writers are ANY RariJack episodes. It's the only shipping I've had enough of for once.
