KillerKingBakudan 702 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 If the Mane Six were called to a specific location, and they flat out refused to help restore a friendship or series of friendships, what would the direct consequences be? Would it strip them of their elements somehow and give them to other ponies? Would their cutie marks be replaced by something indicative of utter disgrace and failure? Would it inflict pain in their flanks? Or would it emit an enormous shockwave and tear the whole castle down? What do you see happening if they exhibited this kind of selfishness? No questions asked. Techno Universal 2,575 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 It's impossible for that to happen as every task the know they will enjoy plus the map probably does do invisible mind control if something doesn't work out. But if the worst happens it will most likely completely reset the timeline to try and fix the issue in the past. Cwanky 17,655 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 (edited) Well it would probably at least make their cutie marks go off like an alarm indefinitely in the short run, much like the Powerpuff phone: EDIT: for those that don't get the reference Powerpuff Girls was another popular TV series with all female protagonists that Lauren Faust wrote and animated. digit112 89 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 I've always had the idea that the map could basically tell the future. It choose those locations and those ponies ahead of time because it knew that everything would work out if it did.
Hoppy 699 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 i think the map is a representation of the episode righter and plays god with the pony's
snowflame 189 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 (edited) It would be interesting episode if for some reason the ponies could not respond to the map and then dealing with going late to the place. I don't think the map can force the ponies to but it would be interesting if the episode would deal with consequences of prorastination (if they would choose to delay the map for some reason) or just how the circumstances change such as if the map chooses to send other ponies when the initial ones can't go so we and the characters wonder his things would have gone of the other ponies had handled this. Unlikeable Pony 2,700 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 (edited) Would it strip them of their elements somehow and give them to other ponies? Kind of hard to do that when they've ALREADY been stripped of their elements more or less (The gems, which are the actual magic things, are stuck inside the tree of harmony, and they have yet to exhibit any kind of magic they can call upon without them, outside of Rainbow power which looked to have been a temporary one time thing that burnt itself out) Probably would try and prod them for a while and then go inert before trying to kick the out of the table group (take their Cutie mark off the throne) and get someone else to take their place. I'd imagine the Castle doors would magically shut and lock them out till they got their act together as a group (sorry twilight) and bar them ALL from entering. Though, It'd be hilarious if all it did was constantly buzz their butts at the most innopportune times like to wake them up at 3 in the morning, like some sort of cell phone prank that the table was constantly pulling XD I think a more interesting thing would be what would HAPPEN if they didn't help, not if they PERSONALLY didn't choose to help, but if they didn't fix things up-- so far, there's a severe lack of a sense of urgency at ANYTHING the map has had them do besides fixing Starlight's cult. Luigi 7,871 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 Not sure. We've already seen Applejack unwilling to solve a problem involving the Flimflam brothers in Las Pegasus, but Fluttershy talked her into it. As for refusing from the start, it would probably end up hurting Equestria later in some way.
Concerned Bystander 2,904 February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 There hasn't been anything at all to suggest that the map has any kind of power over the mane six. I would imagine the most it could do is keep on paging their cutie marks until they get fed up and respond, or at least until such time as it is too late to resolve the issue.
KillerKingBakudan 702 February 25, 2017 Author Share February 25, 2017 Kind of hard to do that when they've ALREADY been stripped of their elements more or less (The gems, which are the actual magic things, are stuck inside the tree of harmony, and they have yet to exhibit any kind of magic they can call upon without them, outside of Rainbow power which looked to have been a temporary one time thing that burnt itself out) I meant getting their ties to the elements severed, not actually losing the elements in their physical form. I could already see the former happening if the Mane Six died. No questions asked.
Tropico 226 February 25, 2017 Share February 25, 2017 i think it would beep forever xD and in the end somepony would go. Matthais Unidostres 5 March 2, 2017 Share March 2, 2017 It would be interesting episode if for some reason the ponies could not respond to the map and then dealing with going late to the place. This WOULD be cool. Like, it calls for Twilight and Rarity, but Twilight is giving a lecture in Canterlot, and Rarity has some important social event to go to. They procrastinate and act like it can wait, we get some funny sequences of their flanks blinking like a cellphone that keeps going off in your pocket, and their waiting ends up making things worse and harder to fix. The moral is "procrastination is bad" and/or "Sometimes you need to give up doing what you want to do for the greater good."

Absolutely these. The thing would make their flanks vibrate like a phone in their pocket INDEFINITELY until they hop to it and do their jobs. 2 Check out my artwork any time: http://shadobabe.deviantart.com/ "OMG; You are such a troll. llamalauncher 84 March 2, 2017 Share March 2, 2017 This could work well for an episode. The map doesnt know or care if there busy (in brotherhooves social applejack couldnt go with applebloom, because the map called) the map probably doesnt know if they have anything important to do. Having an episode where one of the mane six cant go because something really important happens and there late for the friendship problem. Then they get consequences. Because they failed I made this Picture myself FYI
Goat-kun 2,530 March 3, 2017 Share March 3, 2017 It would force them to do its bidding via mind control. Don't worry. The Map is antisocial and has a tragic past, so it's K.
Thrond 3,265 March 3, 2017 Share March 3, 2017 Probably annoy them into doing it, because god forbid they simply get on with their lives rather than intervene in something which isn't their problem. But like others have said, it doesn't seem like it assigns problems which the ponies involved would refuse to solve.
Ganondorf8 11,463 March 3, 2017 Share March 3, 2017 If that were to happen, Twilight would have to immediately step down as the Princess of Friendship. She would effectively be going against the thing she chose to do as a princess and her friends would feel the same way since they are an extension of her desire to solve friendship problems around Equestria. The map itself is likely to keep reminding them to solve the problem and won't stop until they actually do it.
ManaMinori 4,146 March 3, 2017 Share March 3, 2017 I would like to see the map try to summon somepony when they're gravely ill or in the hospital or something. Rainbow Dash: ugh...map calling. Must....get -hack, cough, wheeze* to friendship problem.... Nurse Redheart: Oh no you don't! You stay in this bed and rest! 1 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
