For example, the Knights Templar were named after their mission; they were to defend the Holy Sepulchre, which was on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. So the Knights of the Shining Spear would be named as such because either their founder used a shining spear, or that was the item they were looking for. So a good sounding name with a good back story prospects would be the Order of Cleansing Fire; which can be used as bad guys or good guys. "I love deadlines.
