ggg-2 3,553 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 For me, the absolute height of Big Mac's characterization thus far is Brotherhooves Social. (heck, i'd even call it the best characterization of ANY supporting character) ......But his lowest point is....*gags* Hard to Say Anything. Don't be a nerd. Join the herd! cmarston1 5,959 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 Fluttershy was definitely at her all time best during Flutter Brutter which is why I really do like the episode. And I guess I would have to go with Putting Your Hoof Down for the worst portrayal of Fluttershy, even if I don't really dislike the episode.

Wow, I actually think Putting Your Hoof Down was one of her better characterizations while Flutter Brutter was her all time worst Both episodes were kinda mediocre overall tho Why? GeekySonic 1,150 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 I honestly can't even remember my favorite moments from Dash. I know for sure I despised her characterization in 28 Pranks Later. 2 Check out my voice-acting demo reels on Casting Call Club, if you'd like. Deleted3133333 3,560 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 Yeah, Dash in 28 Pranks Later was not good. Neither was Newbie Dash. But when it comes to best characterization, I have to go to Tanks For The Memories. You want loyalty? Try sabotaging winter for your pet tortoise. She showed that yeah, although she can get egotistical at times, she actually does care for others... a lot. After that, I'd probably have to go with Wonderbolts Academy. Her being willing to give up her dreams because it's placing other ponies in danger... that's amazing. Something I wish I could do. (But don't wish I have to do) 7 Everyone has good inside them, if you look hard enough
Megas 27,669 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 (edited) Wonderbolts Academy is still her greatest moment by far. Quitting her dream because she didn't want to support something she didn't feel was right is always something worth applauding Her worst? Newbie Dash, episode blatantly ignores literally everything she's learned up to that point just for that fucking stupid imitation joke, and the never gives her a chance to show why she earned the right to be a WB, instead it constantly laughs at her and treats her like garbage. The fact that this is supposed to be the apex of her character arc still pisses me off to no end. It's the complete opposite of what we've come to expect 28 Pranks Later is arguably worse, but by that point the writers were just being *insert expletive that would get me banned here*. "Hey lets remake that episode no one likes, take everything everyone hated about it and make it worse. Only this time everyone will like it because lolzombies". ugh Edited June 7, 2017 by The Undefeated of the East

Dark Qiviut 22,426 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 (edited) My favorite's Fluttershy: Best: Flutter Brutter and Hurricane Fluttershy. The former shows how Fluttershy should be when the character development sticks around. She cared when needed to, but put her hoof down when Zephyr refused to stop manipulating everyone. HF for shedding refreshing light on her shyness by transforming it into a crippling phobia that she has to fight to overcome. Worst: Is it no surprise? Putting Your Hoof Down makes her so unrecognizable to where it hurt her reputation all the way till The Cutie Map. The fact that she abused her friends for their livelihoods with such a sadistic voice and smile puts her at a level that even Discord wouldn't sink to. Colt 45 148 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 My favourite is Applejack, and in my opinion, she had the worst characterisation in "Applejack's Day Off". I know that she is supposed to be stubborn, but in that episode with the chores, the things that she was doing that were obsolete didn't fit her character. She's usually portrayed as being clever and logical, but it was just common sense to not be doing things that were very obviously pointless.

Zantetsuken 364 June 7, 2017 Share June 7, 2017 (edited) Rarity Best (in no particular order) -Sisterhooves Social (205) [I don't think I need to explain this one I think it's pretty obvious.] -A Dog and Pony Show (119) [Showed that she could stick up for herself and hold her own in the face of danger... also whining] -Inspiration Manifestation (423) [Dark magic Rarity is very interesting] -Rarity Investigates (515) [I like detective stories and I loved this episode and how rarity solved the crime right under RD's muzzle] Worst (again in no real order) -The Gift of Maud Pie (603) [WAY too hyper] -Forever Filly (706) [Too hyper again] -The Cart Before The Ponies (614) [Selfish bitch, also applies to Applejack and Rainbow Dash in that episode] -Spice Up Your Life (612) [Rarity wanting the restaurant to be the same as all the rest during the song I think severely conflicts with her character. I thought she was all about uniqueness.] Edited June 7, 2017 by Zantetsuken
Prospekt 11,018 June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 (edited) Twilight Sparkle: Best: -The Return of Harmony, Part 2: The scene where Twilight gives up and loses her color, then gets dozens of her own friendship report letters back from Princess Celestia, is one of the more emotional moments of the entire series. Probably her best-written moment, one that really completes her transformation from antisocial bookworm to, well, heroic and selfless bookworm. She probably could've graduated as Celestia's pupil then... Worst: -Feeling Pinkie Keen: Great Pinkie episode, terrible Twilight episode that portrays her so OOC that I almost refuse to believe it's actually her. Thrond 3,263 June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 Twilight. Best - My favourite episode remains "Lesson Zero," where even though Twilight is really creepy, I'm able to sympathize with and relate to her. She's not in her right mind in that, though, so I actually want to single out "A Flurry of Emotions," which is one of the few episodes to capture both her nerdiness and her anxiety about failure. Can't think of an episode which combines all three perfectly, to be honest... part of me thinks she's been almost too friendly post-season 1, but her versatility is another reason I like her so much. Worst - I said this elsewhere, but any if her focus episodes from season 4 through 6 would fit, although I always return to "No Second Prances," which makes her unlikeable for almost no reason. Twilight being controlling because she's worried about Celestia's approval could be brought somewhere interesting, but instead our only reward for watching Twilight at her most unpleasant is something she literally just learned a couple episodes ago, and any deeper issues are completely ignored.
DonMaguz 1,023 July 21, 2017 Share July 21, 2017 Ok, Rarity's worst characterization was probably at The Cart Before the Ponies, which was bad for all three big sisters (RD honorary at least). His best is at Canterlot Boutique, it shows most of her traits as a character in an amazing way.
Philweasel 139 July 21, 2017 Share July 21, 2017 (edited) I agree with Flutter Brutter and Hurricane Fluttershy being Fluttershy's best characterization episodes. I struggle to think of a episode where I really disagreed with her characterization, though I deeply dislike the episodes where she shows up in the background and yet doesn't get any lines, which happened annoyingly often at the beginning. And 'A Bird in the Hoof' and 'The Best Night Ever' both show her at her most obnoxious and childish. For Starlight Glimmer I have to say 'All Bottled Up'. She's both very Glimmer, yet remains profoundly sympathetic. She's falling into the same old patterns, but you can see her reasoning. Worst? The comic strip 'Chaos Theory'. She shows little personality, makes constant speeches about her dark past, and ultimately steals the show at the end with very little lead up. It's like they were intentionally trying to make her look bad. On 6/8/2017 at 0:39 AM, Zantetsuken said: -Forever Filly (706) [Too hyper again] DWK posits that Rarity was drunk for most of the episode. It is a very plausible theory. JH24 385 July 21, 2017 Share July 21, 2017 (edited) Rainbow Dash: Best: Sleepless in Ponyville. (How she took Scootaloo "literally" under her wing) Wonderbolt Academy: Rainbow Dash willing to give up her dream because she didn't want to support something she didn't believe in. Very powerful. Top Bolt: I really enjoyed Rainbow's (and Twilight's) portrayal here and how she did everything she could to help Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail. Parental Glideance: Love her relationship as a big sister to Scootaloo, and how she shows her parents how much they mean to her at the end of the episode. As weird as it may sound, Newbie Dash. Yeah, she had to endure a lot in the episode but I never felt the writer was mean-spirited toward RD at all. I appreciate the episode for what it tried to do. Rainbow Dash became too cocky and completely obsessed with her nickname (I can relate to that as I've experienced something similar years ago) so I could understand the lesson she had to learn in the end, even if it was painful. I can't see it as humiliating, but more like Rainbow Dash maturing and growing as a character. It would have been humiliating if there was no lesson at all. But Rainbow showed humility, she realized what she had done, she felt genuinely sorry and would accept the consequences no matter what they were. It may sound odd but RD admitting she was wrong was a powerful moment for me personally. It showed that there are times you need to speak if there's something you don't like, that sometimes standing out from the rest isn't always a good thing if teamwork is required, and that you shouldn't be acting like someone you're not. Spitfire in particular saw right through that. But what really sold it for me was the ending scene. Rainbow Dash finally being at peace and happy while cleaning up the mess from the event. This short scene is still one of my favorite moments in the show. The Wonderbolts aren't blameless, but they have a kind of "military" command structure, and this is just their way of "doing things." ----- Worst: Mysterious Mare-do-Well: It's been a long time, but I can remember being quite frustrated with that episode. 28 Pranks Later. That episode just felt like a regression of her character to her earlier days. It just felt out of place. === It's funny how I had trouble getting used to her character in the first few seasons. But now I enjoy almost every episode she's in. She has matured and grown so much. She also seems to be more composed, more humble, less inclined to get angry, less impulsive and more patient (Like she was with Zephyr and Quibble. I'm not sure the RD from season 1 or 2 would have tolerated them as much) while still being herself. Edited July 21, 2017 by JH24
Ingoma 75 July 21, 2017 Share July 21, 2017 Applejack wasn't my favorite. BUT SHE ACTED WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO OUT OF CHARACTER IN HONEST APPLE! 1 If I could rewind, change my mind and do it all again With all the answers ahead of me, and know how it would all end. Hierok 11,831 July 22, 2017 Share July 22, 2017 Bad Discord best in the season 2 premiere. Good Discord best in Tree's a crowd. Worst Discord characterization in Discordant Harmony. But I'm not complaining, cause it was one of his better episodes, he just wasn't himself. Here you see, if a character goes out of character, it doesn't has to be bad. 1 If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. Celli 4,338 July 22, 2017 Share July 22, 2017 Best, Amending Fences. It really showed Twilight in a more mature light, and she really felt remorse for her actions towards Moondancer. Worst, probably No Second Prances. Her behavior towards Trixie was uncalled for, and she really should have backed off of Starlight. Definitely the worst moment for her imo. Philweasel 139 July 22, 2017 Share July 22, 2017 Twilight was nice to Discord after he betrayed them to Tirek. I still think she would have expressed concern about Starlight choosing him as her best friend. Doubly so given Starlight wasn't necessarily even looking for a best friend - just ANY friend, so that she could show progress to Twi (of course, Twi then made it a big thing with Celestia being invited to see how Twi was doing as a teacher - which wasn't required at all, and just put more pressure on Twi) ᚾᛖᚹ ᛚᚢᚾᚨ ᚱᛖᛈᚢᛒᛚᛁᚴ - ᚦᛖ ᚠᚢᚾ ᚺᚨᚦ ᛒᛖᛖᚾ ᛞᛟᚢᛒᛚᛖᛞ
