S.V.R. Stop. Violent. Recreation,

I know it's tuff but let's all try to stop playing violent videogames, violent TV, violent thinking, and just violence in general.

Put "SVR" in your signature if you support Stop Violent Recreation!

I'm a lover of the 90's. With catchier songs, and real baby-makers than genuinely get you in the mood, what's not to love?

90s hands down. Now is also good, but I didn't vote for it because a lot of artists sold out

The 60's were amazing, especially towards the end and it only got better with the 70's.

It started going downhill after that for me though.

I would have to say the 80's for rock, because that is when rock was at its peak, and a ton of well-known and loved rock songs come from the 80's. I also like rap, especially Eminem, so for rap I'd have to say now, considering now being from 2000-Present. Eminem was popular in the late 90's too, but I think his best music comes from the 2000's. The 70's were good for funky music, but I'm not a big fan of that kind of music. But in the end, I believe that music from the present is probably the best, from all of the mixtures of genres.

70s, 80s, and 90s.

Only music I like from today is Dubstep, techno, and house. Heck, I like all three of those genres from anytime when they existed.

Music from the 80's were great. Absolutely love the classical music from the era.

And by 80's I mean the 1880's.

(I'm so sorry but I had to do this joke.)

Out of the ones listed I am going to have to say the 60's with the 50's not that far behind them. Doo wop, the Beetles, lots of great rock songs and many more reasons of course if the 40's were on this list I would probably pick that. Overall though I would have to say it is a bit of a toss up between the Classical Era (Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn) and the early 20th century with rise of rag time, jazz and blues.

The 80's, because of the arrival of Thrash Metal music with bands like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Kreator, Sodom, Tankard, Destruction, Overkill, Voivod, etc... and contains classic releases from these bands and with the first wave of Black, Death and Progressive Metal bands (Notable bands: Bathory, Possessed, Death and Fates Warning) it maked the 80's the greatest decade of music IMO.

The 60s and 70s, for sure. It'd be hard for me to describe why I pick them. It largely has to do with instruments - more winds/strings (well, you know me - mainly the winds xD) and hammond organ as opposed to synthesizers. What synthesizers they did use were used appropriately.

But it goes beyond even the instruments. And that's where it is hard to describe for me. And as much as I hate to say it, it is hard to find (pop) music outside of those two decades that I can see of as just as good. I find more good from today (the last ten years) than I do the 80s - 90s, though, I'll add that.

It's hard for me to choose between the 60's, 70's, and 80's. But I'll go with the 80's. Lots of bands I like came from that decade. Though I like the 70's because rock music sounded good back then and the 60's because it contained many influential British bands, Motown soul, and psychedelic music.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I selected all of them. I don't let my music taste be limited by it's time of release. I've got favourite songs ranging from almost every decade listed in the poll.

60's 70's and 90's. No doubt there's good music out now, but during these periods we got so much great music from both "mainstream" and underground bands.

The 60s, the 70s and the 80s

Just look at all the great bands and musicians that came out at that time.

60s: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

70s: Black Sabbath, The Who, Rush, Pink Floyd, Genesis, etc.

80s: Queen, Duran Duran, Metallica, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, etc.

These where the greatest eras ever.

I’m going to say the 70s an onwards:

The stuff I like to listen to and love the sound of flourished mostly in the 70s, and then that progressed into new styles I also love afterwards in the 80s and beyond.

I don’t hate the 60s or before though, it just isn’t quite as appealing to me musically.
