Alpakachii 164 November 30, 2017 Share November 30, 2017 There is always People who are suprised and never expected that I like listening to all different kinds of rock music, because Im always really quiet and shy in puplic. Or people who are suprised that I like to play more violent video games or MMO's altough im a teen girl (wich is actually a really dumb stereotype that girls don't play games) I've also owned some He Man action figures when I was younger, well it was for me and my brother but still. I'm really curious to see what people didn't expect you to have or like. When you were younger or maybe right now. Since people automatically assume that all girls like fashion and guys like sports and that sort of stuff.

Jeric 46,854 November 30, 2017 Share November 30, 2017 I'm actually full of surprises. Since we are on the internet, my favorite is how people form an opinion on how I sound. When they hear my voice, which is highly energetic and almost cartoony, they tell me how shocked they are. On this forum the first time people realized I had teenage kids, it also made people surprised as there is a perception that the majority of the fandom is young (which is fairly accurate). My tastes in media, tech, and IP's don't shock too many individuals. I do look like a nerd. =D

Lightwing 12,975 November 30, 2017 Share November 30, 2017 Heya @Alpakachii! Seeing the content of your thread has less to do with ponies and more with a more open discussion, your topic has been moved to General Discussion. Thank you! But now that we speak of unexpected traits, my one trait that nobody expects from me has to be my high capacity of advice. It sounds like boasting here, but there are many, many people that did not see me as a person that had a good advice sense at a first glance of me by observing my more carefree nature and seemingly careless way of looking at life, but I ended up surprising them more often than not, even more so by giving them, according to them, "Some of the best advice and guiding I've ever been given". I am no god nor master of advice and there are many things that I am green in that regard, but in the fields I know, I have been told that I know what I speak about. 6 ~~ Forum Rules - Forum FAQ - What do you think of me? ~~

I have actually done that for friends before, but because of all of the reporting features we've had to put in place in our production workflow, it's impossible to get away with making the company absorb the cost now. Or just doing it in general. We used to make the books in-house, but now it has to bind and ship from a business partner where I can't hide all of the far-out pony pen names and questionable content. Oh, and copyright investigations, of which I would be the only person involved in. I'm sure Hasbro would be so understanding.

Envy 6,170 November 30, 2017 Share November 30, 2017 IRL, people don't expect me to be as old as I am. There are still people who think I'm 18. Lol. I don't understand, because when I look in the mirror I very clearly see the fact that I am aging. People also for reasons I don't understand (perhaps because I was in orchestra for several years) think that the only kind of music I listen to is Classical. I've even been called "Ms. Classical" by some people IRL. So they're not expecting it when I tell them that I not only enjoy pop/rock music, but I enjoy heavier music and punk music like Streetlight Manifesto. Although, if someone assumes I like my music softer, they're not completely wrong. The punk bands I listen to are more the exception than the rule. Still, classical is not all I listen to! I mean, I didn't even get into classical music until right before my junior year of high school. 2 Everything needs more woodwind!

Alpakachii 164 November 30, 2017 Author Share November 30, 2017 @TBD exactly! I knew someone in school who dressed like she just came out of a punk rock music video. But she was pretty nice and listened mostly to really emotional pop songs and actually very few punk rock bands. It's really weird how someone's style can be so misleading. JonasDarkmane 19,787 November 30, 2017 Share November 30, 2017 Things that people would never have expected of me. Well, watching a show full of pastel colored horses. My interests usually revolve around violence and struggle (hence video games, Lord of the Rings and history as well as politics), but sometimes you just want some peace and quiet and some good laughs over cute bright horses. Other things people did not expect of me was for me to be a small guy. Most people are larger than me, even those who used to be smaller than me (at least I am taller than my big sister). Other things some people have come to expect of me is intolerance due to my political ideology and philosophies, that I can only hang around like-minded people. Trouble is, I really don't care about people's beliefs as much as long as they are not committing direct actions (the one which I condemn the most is political violence). My sister is a complete socialist, even bordering Anarcho-Syndicalism, which is in stark contrast to my own beliefs. Still great friends. Got a ton of Marxist buddies in Uni as well. You just get the wrong idea, I find arguing to be fun (my interests in struggles). Could go on, but I think I will leave this shorter. I'll end it with, that people who know I play the piano, expect me to be some kind of Mozart. True, I learn with my ears, however, my fingers tend to go everywhere, as they are not long enough, plus, I can't read notes. 14 hours ago, Jeric said: I had teenage kids When I knew that you were a father, I first imagined a deeper 'fatherly' voice.
