Twilight's parents

If you guys know Twilight's parents, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, I have noticed something. Why do they look young? They LOOK like they were born with Twilight Sparkle at the same time.

Maybe Twilight Velvet's youthful appearance has something to do with her lifestyle (she appears to be quite a daredevil). Actually, Rainbow Dash's mother doesn't look much older than her daughter either.

I noticed this as well. Twilight's mom looks like she could actually be younger than her.

It’s mostly this. Despite the various leaps in quality the show’s look has taken, it still doesn’t use significantly different models between varying ages of adults. The moms who do look older achieve that effect largely through how they’re dressed.

Or how they sound, I know a lot of people who think Starlight is older than the main six because of her voice.

Or mane style  . Seriously, Betty Bouffant (Rarity's mom) is clearly older, Cloudy Quartz has her glasses and mane, likewise with Mrs shy. Twi Velvet, her mane only makes her look a bit more refined, AND WINDY WHISTLES COULD BE AS WELL BE HER DAUGHTER'S SISTER

Mane does almost every thing about a ponies age it seems.  The bodies are pretty much all in the same till a surtan age, so the mane makes the pony.

I still think Starlight's like 32 compared to the older 3 of the M6 who are 29-30ish (I'm too lazy right now to go back over my evidence and figure out if they've hit 30 yet or not).

And in regards to the thread, yeah, Twi's...err...Twi Spark's parents look a bit young for grandparents, but I think they very well could be in their 50s looking like that.

No need. I also think there in their mid to late 20's at the youngest. Starlight can go either way.

Just headcanon based on stuff throughout the show.

There's actually a bit of a theory behind this, and it's that the 3 races don't age the same.

We've seen many old earth ponies. Only a hoof full of 'old' pegasai, and only 1 old unicorn. 

Based on how long it takes to establish a town in our world, and how much time has passed in the show, Granny Smith is estimated to be in her 50s. And earth ponies only live till late 40s/early 60s. There's also a substantial number more earth ponies than either of the other races. They need to breed more to replenish a rapidly aging populace. 

Based on the wonderbolts timeline, pegasai are estimated to live around 120, hence why Spitfires mom, who should be Granny Smith's age, looks decades younger. 

And since we've seen only 1 old looking unicorn, and that there are fewer unicorns than the latter races in Equestria, unicorns may live centuries.
