Debatable as every scenario is different. I think it makes more people want to watch it and boosts ratings imo. People talk about it before it comes on T.V. boosting curiosity.  

Have you ever sat there and thought you wasn't going to watch that show, watch that movie, play that game, read that book until you learned something of a spoiler that made you curious?

First, all Hasbro accidentally uploaded was a clip and not the whole episode. Don't really see how that would hurt ratings. Second, the show's future is more dependent on toy sales than TV ratings.

Hasbro doesn't care about ratings. At all. If they did they would not air this show on Discovery Family. MLP even at it's prime on DF was well below it's prime on the hub. I realize they are technically the same, but as the Hub it had so much more going for it. MLP gets most of it's viewers on things like Netflix, internet, dvd sales, etc at this point.
