I recently just finished my first Final Fantasy game, FF9, and I wanted to ask you guys, what are your favorite games in the series? I've played a little bit of the others, but I'd say 9 is my favorite one so far. Image result for final fantasy 9

The only one that I can list is the one that I spent the most time playing, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the Game Boy Advance. Sadly, I never finished the game despite going pretty far into it and I don't feel an urge to go back and finish it. The last time I played it was way back in 2004 so it's been fourteen years since.

I have played only a few of the series (those being III,IV,V,VI, and XII). Also I played the Dirge of Cerberus spinoff of VII.

Favorite by far is Final Fantasy IV. III and V are pretty much garbage with their dumb freelance system and lack of an actual storyline, hadn't really played that much of 6, (though I can already see why it's probably the most popular game in the series) and 12 was pretty good aside from Vaan just being extremely boring. Dirge of Cerberus is a game I find underrated, feels like literally nobody talks about it, but the game is actually really good. Surprised that Square Enix could actually combine Final Fantasy Elements with a shooter that well.

Final Fantasy XI is my all-time favorite. The players there are nice and helpful. Well my brother got me into the game so I got a lot of experience from him, but further than that, got more experience from other people based on their main jobs they play as. Exploring and going to the areas takes a long time to travel based on large the areas really is, but i'm that type of person who explore a lot. The Music is good, but mostly I just listen to ronfaure, aht urghan whitegate / al zahbi, jeuno, chocobo theme, abyssea battle theme and battle in the dungeon 3 music which is the most that I like.

Never played a Final Fantasy game... they've never really appealed to me.

However, that will be about to change as I got Final Fantasy III (which I believe is VI according to sources) with my SNES Classic. Apparently, it's one of the best in the series. I may not be a big RPG fan, but this'll be the chance for the franchise to prove I've missed out over the years.

My favorite is Final Fantasy IV. I haven't actually played the original version (only the remake), but I don't think I've had quite as much fun with any other FF game. This one defines the RPG genre for me.

Final Fantasy 9 is also one of my favorites. The comedy, the cities, and the card game are just a few of my favorite things about the game. For a long time I used to think I'd like to live in a city like Treno but lately I've been into Steampunk and airships so I'm becoming more attached to Lindblum.

I like Final Fantasy 7. The summonings + Fanfare music is my absolute favorite in that game. Playing it on low res PS1 is what i preferred, i don't like the highly detailed on PC or other systems since i feel it ruins the emersion i had with the first game.

My favorite games in the series are VII VIII & IX, but my absolute favorite, by far, currently is XIV, partially because you can create your own custom character in the game (it's an MMORPG), and partially because the online friends I made in-game have helped me get through some really rough parts of my life, and I even met my very best friend in RL through the game (it turns out she lives about half an hour from me).

Here's a quick pic of my character as a level 69 Astrologian (I have all mage classes except Astrologian at the current level cap of 70 right now):

  • 1 month later...

FF IX is still my favorite game of all time, mainly because of its variety of characters and its story based on the relation between life and the fear of death.

I also like FF VI, VIII and I a lot. :)

Final Fantasy V is my all-time favorite. Ever since my dad and I have played it on our old Windows 95 Computer, and then the PS1 (Still have the Discs of Anthology), the music and job system really does good on my part, especially "Clash on the Big Bridge," the iconic theme for the Mighty GILGAMESH! I put the GBA Script Port on my SNES Classic Edition, and before you ask, I DO own the game, in PS1 Disc and Digital Form. I only wish that "Project IV: Final Fantasy II was compatible with the SNES Classic Edition.

I also like Final Fantasy X, because you can overpower your characters with the Sphere Grid. I only wish the Level 4 Key Spheres were more accessible. I don't even play those Online installments like FFXI or FFXIV, because those would take up TOO much of the wallet. I just hope to one day get the NES Classic Edition, and put games like FFII and FFIII on there.

I like the first Final Fantasy game on the NES. Its my favorite of the bunch, but I won’t deny how awesome the later games were.

My favorite Final Fantasy are the ones that’s not so much about storytelling, but more into gameplay.

I, III and V deliver well so I really enjoy playing them more than any entries in the series despite being some of the most difficult. Really like the job system of III and V. It’s more about the gameplay more so than storytelling.

IV is meh to me. Not bad, but not great. Still enjoy it though from time to time.

VI is good, but not my cup of tea. Still enjoy it from time to time.

VII is similar to VI so I have the same opinion with it.

VIII is experimental like II (which I like more) for my tastes. Both II and VIII have gameplay mechanics that seems counter-intuitive with high learning curve. But as soon as you understand how the mechanics works, you can break and cheese the game like a walk in the park (provided you have the patience of a saint that is ).

XI is simply a throwback to the oldschool FF games from NES/SNES era, but I’ve yet to play it.

Never played any of the later ones.

So far i have only played Final Fantasy 1,2 and 13. My favorite would probably be 13, even though it could just be because the game has so much better graphics than the other two. Graphics doesnt madder that much to me, but i still prefer better graphic if i can can choose. XD

Cant say much about the Story, since i never fully played a Final Fantasy Game. But i plan on doing so in the future.
