Yet another difficult decision... for other people but not me in this case. I'm going with Spike as he's proven time and again that he has what it takes to resolve an issue--even the ones that he caused himself. Plus... He's the main focus of my favourite episode in the entire series--The Equestria Games--so call me a little bias.

Thorax's home field advantage might be too much to overcome. Whichever one goes into the draft pool will surely make a huge impact for another team.

Oh, Spike, you created a monster! I mean, the character whose fate was radically changed by Spike can beat the dragon now. It feels weird. But Thorax not being on the Changeling Kingdom team feels weird too.

Gotta go with Thorax. He's the more interesting and consistent character, even if the change in his look kinda contradicts the whole message of being accepted for who you are. 

I mean come on, how can you say no to that face? 

That and he has a stronger connection with both Trixie and Starlight than Spike does.

But his new form IS natural like how caterpillars become butterflies. Just look at these fan made cards.

No. The message with Thorax was that sharing mutual love is more powerful and important than deceiving and stealing love. Also, As Starlight says, "A true leader doesn't force her subjects to deny who they are. she celebrates what makes them unique and listens when one of them finds a better way." 

They were always meant to become "butterflies" and Chrysalis was keeping them restrained. Besides, Pharynx kept his colors because it suits him as an aggressive warrior type.

Hm. What a shame that I’m not particularly fond on either. I almost didn’t vote because I dislike both of them probably more than most characters on the show, but I just had to contribute and go with Spike.  Guess he deserves a little love.
