I have never been to a prom and would never desire it. When I graduated from Junior High and left public school behind me, I didn’t even stop for the graduation party. I walked briskly to the car, avoiding the attention of everyone I knew, and disappeared into my future life without looking back.

Prom, Ameribros is prom like they are in movies. I feel like here mostly they do some wild drinking parties not so much dancing. While I never went to prom, I would occasionally go to events like it. Though people were too up and personal for my taste my friends.

My school did have one despite it not really being the culture here but I didn't go to it as I didn't like the people I went to school with.

Well, prom doesn't exist in France 
But if I was from the US I don't think I will have gone. I think that instead my friends and me will have make our own party and will have way more fun ! 
I know it's a tradition in the US but here I've never heard of any high school doing a prom, even in the private school with a lot of financial ressource they are not prom, you'll find some parties from time to time but nothing as big as prom.

I don't know if I missed something or not, as a french I don't think prom is such a good idea since you can drink as soon as you turn 18 and high school ends when you're 18, except if you skip a grade.
I don't imagine schools allowing parties with alcohol so student will bring their own and it will be a huge mess...so I think that's the main reason it doesn't exist here.

Yo dude that's like how it was they had something like prom but it was not the ameribros type of prom now was it. Rather it was more like celebrating school being finished.

Personally I do like the tradition though. I don't think it is a thing in most of the European continent, then again it might be I know the Swedes probably would have a prom.

I never went to prom. I had no desire to go there, as I was far more interested in reading things on my own (I learned far more via autodidactic methods than I did in school), as well as posting on forums (they were an introvert’s paradise in the the early 2000s) and learning about how to work on vehicles.

Yep, went to prom in 12th grade. Crazy story, the girl who I went to prom with...we became friends the very first day. Then the second day of school, already declared prom dates.

Hell no. Even if I had some desire to dance, even if somebody would have gone with me and I had the courage to ask, prom is a massive money pit(much like weddings and funerals) gouging millions out of Americans every year for an overblown school dance that's not really any fun to begin with.
