Older than dirt! And considering dirt is billions of years old I really am an old fuck!

I'm not surprised. I've never heard of it either :yay: Then again, I'm not American, so that might be why

  • 2 weeks later...

I think it is around 75-85 you start feeling old. That's what my grandma and grandpa said, though they didn't really stop running around doing stuff even after they got old! :dash:

As soon as I turn 26 :maud: . It's not the old that I have a problem with.. it's being where I am now and being 25.

Now I gotta run, to get even.

Honestly? I'm not sure. I'm 21, and I still feel young as ever. Which isn't really the best thing in the world, but isn't the worst either. So I dunno.

I guess you start to feel "old" when your physical problems start popping up. Like I said, I'm only 21 and I already have a "bad" ankle. I feel old any time it acts up. :P

I'm not there yet, but I would say when you notice a decline in energy, start losing hair/hair color, or start getting wrinkles.

I'm 31, feel fine, and have my fastest mile run time ever.

Now, of course! A decade was long enough, it feels like I shouldn't be here...

I swear it's not a Final Destination reference Dx

It's not something I like to think about, part of the reason I was working on my MLP FIM fan fiction although I had other distractions recently but never mind, point is this, one of the reasons for it, is a desire to be young again, sure, I could fantasize about reincarnating in this world, but the truth is, this world sucks. I've gone over several reasons why, some are political, but due to forum restrictions discussions like that are best saved for Twilight's Soapbox. Given that, even the Monarchy in Equestria is looking a lot better right now. Princess Luna post reform is not dangerous, neither is Princess Celestia dangerous, despite the criticisms from the fandom about her, she can be a bit ill tempered at times toward her sister, yes, but then this mirrors sibling rivalries that can happen in real life, lots of people do argue from time to time, being close to someone does not change the reality that we disagree with another's opinion or something they did at certain points in our lives.

Daydreaming about my fan fiction helps me feel young again, in my mind I am free.

I started feeling old when I turned 18 because I was leagally an adult, but I was wrong:mlp_maud:. I really started feeling old when I was 20, but how wrong I was there...:mlp_maud: When I turned 22 and I saw al my friends graduating (except for me), I felt old:mlp_maud: (and lonely). Then at 25 I thougth "I'm a quarter of a century old" and I felt old:mlp_maud:. Now I'm about to turn 26, so I thought "I'm more than a quarter of a century old" and I'm feeling old :mlp_maud:.

Jokes aside, I like to think we all have 3 inner selves: A baby, who expresses vital needs (hunger, cold, sleep, etc). A child, who expresses emotional needs (attention, love, hate, boredoom, etc.). And finally an adult, who expresses more complex social skills (faking feelings, responsibility, rationality, emotional intelligence, etc.).

Since the baby doesn't even know the concept of being young or old, I focus on the other two:

The more I feel identified with the child, the younger I feel: truly feeling the company of friends, embracing the experience of love without control, letting curiosity lead you, being able to stay in the moment; playing, joking, laughing and even hating.

The more I feel identified with the adult, the older I feel: schedule tasks, work, social compromises you don't really enjoy, responsibilities, money management, etc...

I think watching mlp makes me feel like a child before adult things strike back again; and given the over-rationalization I'm doing here, you might guess how old I feel.

But this is just an absurd model I've built in my head to make me think I have control over my own life :pinkiecrazy:.

I've yet to feel it. Physically I still very much feel like a teenager at times, I look and feel the same then as I do now just with more life experiences.

I think it's less about a specific age and more about how you feel in the moment. Some might feel "old" when they start noticing things like longer recovery times after physical activity, or when their interests change. As for cartoons like MLP, I don’t think it’s about age—it's more about what makes you happy.

Well, I just added another year to my count as of today, but I feel like the same rickety ol’ gal I was yesterday. Honestly I started feeling old(er) when parts of me started falling apart and becoming less limber. That started a couple years ago and I’m 34 now. On the inside I’m still the same person I was when I was 13; alive, ebullient and ready to rock, but my mortal meat suit doesn’t want to keep up as readily. I’m not quite ready for the old folks’ home, but I sadly have to cancel any plans for bungee jumping I might have had for the future. Bummer.
