@Califorum

At her response, I grumbled, rubbing my head again in frustration.

"Uuuuggghhhh... I can only be so patient..." I grumbled under my breath. I started to walk slightly forward trying to keep a bit of distance. I could tolerate a lot of things, but her? I didn't really know at this point. It had something to do with the fact that I couldn't read her. If anything it was starting to get on my nerves...

She continued to walk forward. Occasionally looking at him as she walked. He couldn’t read her, but she could read him well enough. It seemed he was rather uncomfortable and frustrated.

Then she stated, “Patience is a virtue. Like a rock, you must have patience.” she’d say calmly.

Ok, no. We're not doing this.

Ignoring what she said, I decided to keep walking slightly faster than her to keep my distance, but not too far that I couldn't see her. I wasn't trying to leave her alone, but I definitely did not want to deal with her shenanigans.

The stallion chuckled as he listened to Briar, "There really is no tempering your enthusiasm is there? You're free to come back if you like, but the rest of us are going to rest, some of 'em have families to tend to as well, can't spend all day working. Besides, relaxing is important to a good balance in life. I know you might be used to it Taters, but you gotta think about what's best for your little friend there. She might like some of the entertainment up on top."

He spoke as he led the way to the same cafeteria they had eaten at earlier, "So, what do you two eat? Pony food? Plant food?"

"I hear your words friend, but Brittle is not doing well around a lot of new faces. That there are less here when we return, are frankly a gift. It will help her get some breathing room, as I introduce her to a routine, with limited new beings, so she will see they wish her no ill will. It were what helped her ease up before the crisis, and Earth Mother be willing, it will work again.

That being said, I do agree she would do well with some entertainment of sorts. Do you have any particular ideas for something? Puzzles perhaps? Card games could be tricky as I have issues with pictures, so it would be harder to play with her. But really, I know not what options may be there, to even fathom some real guesses. Could you please enlighten us?"

He'd make sure to play with Brittle later, when he knew she felt like trying that, rather than simply covering behind him. Perhaps they could try throwing bad potatoes between them, like it were a ball? That once made her happy to do.

As they reached the cafeteria, and that other question then came, Briar would chuckle, and send his new friend a wide grin. One that would properly show off his razor-sharp teeth.

"I am a carnivore. Well, omnivore I suppose. I do need my greens and other vitamines, but I am reliant on proteins for survival. I had my fill of that earlier though, so that should mean I have a few days before I need to think further of it, so I believe a nice salad will suffice now.

As for Brittle, she eats emotions. Her stomach can't handle too many things, though we have found certain things, such as honey, oats, and regular, no-nut cookies. Not gluten free though. It does not please her tummy to ingest that."

@C. Thunder Dash

The quartermaster (who is female and a diamond dog) raised an eyebrow in surprise as Thundy manifested a full sword from seemingly thin air. "That's... rather impressive. I wouldn't have believed you if not for the demonstration. Frankly I think you'd be far more useful in the foundry, if you can just conjure up parts like that they'll never have another shortage." She shuffled around some other papers on her desk. "How many swords could you make in a day? And could you, theoretically, make anything? Or are you limited to weapons?"

@Windy Breeze

(If they're far enough north they could reasonably have made it to the Blackwater Protectorate and be safe, if you want that.)

Serene wouldn't be disturbed for several hours until there was a knock at the door, "Hey, you in there?" It was the dog from before, "I was heading to dinner, you want to come with?"

(It's Plein, not Pleid)

Plein would lead the way, hardly waiting for Shadow to keep up as the trotted through the halls with the boundless energy of youth. "The cafeteria near the hospital is the best one in my opinion, they have all the comfort foods there!"

It wouldn't take them long in the halls to find the line for the cafeteria, the sight of which made Plein sigh, "We should have left sooner, they'll be all out of my favorite before we get to the front!"

@Califorum

Pom's dog was not a fan of the dark magic apparently, as it grew aggressive midway through Spiral's demonstration, forcing Pom to take a few steps back from Trixie and growling loudly enough to drown out anything they would try to say until the soul was returned to the body. Even then Bisquik is very wary of Trixie now.

Pom didn't seem very phased by it all however, "And?" She didn't wait for a response, turning to Dazzle, who seemed very confused about what was going on, "I'd like to see the livestock areas if that's alright. Bisquik will need a good run if he's to calm down from" she shot a side eye at Trixie, "that."

Dazzle nodded, "O-of course, just head out that door we came in through and I'll be right with you."

Once Pom and her dog had left Dazzle would turn her attention back to Trixie, "Alright, what in all the silty sands was that!? You trying to traumatize that poor filly more? Like a lot of the young ponies on this project she watched her parents get brutally murdered in front of her. Not a single creature on this project got here without losing something, not that it's a contest for grief." She sighed, "Our main purpose, the whole reason we have performers, is to prevent suicides. Boost moral. You're not going to do that by doing... whatever it was you thought you were doing."

She shook her head as she started walking away, "Hopefully she's alright, I'll see you around, maybe. Put yourself on the schedule when you feel like you're up to performing."

She gestured to a large whiteboard on one of the walls that showed a top view of the Project, lines connected areas of the ship to timetables, essentially you signed up to perform for specific hours in specific areas. At the moment there were a good number of openings.

@Califorum @Jack Baker

After a bit of exploring they would come across what looked like a sort of workshop, stone workbenches along the walls with a few bits of scrap metal dashed about. Whoever had been there before had left in a hurry, but that hurry had also been a while ago judging by the layer of dust on everything.

If either of them knew much about Minostralium they might know that the minotaur used it to power their golems and machines. So where there was a workshop they likely had a mine or a collection of the metal nearby. There was also the concern that their golems might still be active and protecting the stash.

@Kujamih

Dr. Coxa smiled at Light's compliance, "Well, there's a few paths forward, Kilroy, that's the minotaur you were working with, wants to have a memory scan done, see if any evidence of altered memories can be found, or if his crazy theory is correct. There's also a few notes here that you have a... strange... understanding in relation to changelings? Care to elaborate on that? I'll preface that with letting you know that the changeling dynamic here on the project is likely far different from what you might have been used to outside."

The stallion thought for a moment, "If she's not much for interaction, she might enjoy the library? I assume you don't read, but they have more than books available to check out there, they have a good collection of games and puzzles too. Apparently this place used to be a cloud city like Cloudsdale before it became what it is today, so they just kept all the things from the toy stores that used to be here and turned it into more of a toy depot that all the younger ones could share. I'm sure they'll have something she'd enjoy."

... Light pondered and thought that maybe they didn't clearly get what he meant by related to the changeling part of him.

" I am related to the changelings due to Chrysalis adopting me. Thats all."

" And as for the scan... make sure it's not magic oriented because implanted in me is CHRYSALIS'S THRONE.  You know. The one that absorbs magic. And was also infused in canterlote castle."

@Illiad Easle

Trixie would have a visibly enraged look on her face when Pom would refer to Trixie as 'that'. But she knew she had to contain herself here. And by the time Dazzle had scolded her she rolled her eyes. "Trixie's days of performing are over! Trixie will not perform for ponies who do not appreciate her skills! Hmph!" Trixie would say in a rather snooty way as Dazzle walked away. Trixie would also walk away until she saw the whiteboard. She felt unappreciated and deeply offended by the actions of Pom and Dazzle.

As Trixie looked to the whiteboard a devious idea crossed her mind. She looked around to make sure no ponies were around it at the moment. If there was, she would still go ahead with her idea. Spiral was the one that would goad her onto it. She would walk up the white board and look it over, seeing the time tables. With a spell, she would perform some sort of illusion around the white board that made it look like she was signing up. She'd then switch out certain names and give them the wrong time tables, the wrong areas, generally messing up all the performance schedules. She did her best to make the writing the same as it was on the board. Then she'd drop the spell, and Spiral would remove any traces of Trixie's magic or tampering on the board.

Feeling satisfied, Trixie would then proceed to a random area of the ship. She didn't exactly care where, but would locate stairs and head to another floor of the ship. She just wanted to get out of the area where Dazzle, Pom, and the Whiteboard was.

@Jack Baker @Illiad Easle

Maud would have sped up walking and stayed close to Raze. Upon locating the workshop, she went on over to the plans and what was on the tables. She would say to Raze, "Given the properties of Minostralium, it is likely that there is a mine nearby. They use it to power machinery. Which is why we are here. We should be careful though. There could be those who do not want us to have access to it within these tunnels." she'd warn Raze.

She'd have overlooked the metal and anything else that was of interest within the room. If nothing else was found, she would turn to leave.

(Let me think about that)

Serene laid on his bed in the wrong way, his rump on the pillow and his face buried on his mattress and dozing out several times when he heard knocking from his door. Wiping saliva off his mouth, he got up and answered the door revealing his new friend in the Æther, Gypsum. He quickly put a smile

“Uh-huh!" Shadow had a hard time keeping up with Plein until she made the decision to use her flexible wings. With Shadow flying beside the filly, they arrived at the cafeteria and quickly went for the line.

As they wait for their turn, Shadow decided to try making a small talks with her and the filly, “So what foods do you like here in the Æther?”

And I will take your suggestion about the library to heart. Perhaps there is something there for her to enjoy."

Quite honestly, he weren't sure how she were able to read, and she didn't want to talk about it, but maybe a nice, calming book, would be good for her. A few smaller toys too, and some corner of the place without too many others there. The approval of foals were often easier for her to get than adults, as a good deal did not have prejudices, in his experience, until a certain age, but their enthusiasm were a bit much for her.

@Windy Breeze

"Ah yes, the gathered emotion jelly. She ate that last we were here. It were acceptable I hope?"

The question were directed down to Brittle, who'd slowly nod in agreement about that. The jelly had gone down fine, and though she were used to more direct feeding, she hadn't much issue eating it properly in this form either.

"Sounds as if we have a plan then. As do others, who seem to have arrived here too for a well deserved meal."

He were referring to Shadow, whom much like Windy, he did not have an extensive story with. However, he had been from the same group as them, and they had been wandering together for a little time at least, so it would be rude to consider them strangers. Which the one he wandered with were, and as he assumed they may have important things to speak of, and the two of them had not spoken together that much, from what he recalled. Lest he were addressed, or found that an input on something were required, he'd give them their peace for now. There would be plenty of time to catch up another time, if Shadow had any interest in that.

Though currently, it sounded as if he had more interest in speaking to her about food. Seemed a reasonable place to do so as well.

I nodded silently at Maud's statement while I continued to look around. The workshop itself looked pretty impressive, and I was thinking about how the smith who created my sword would love this place. All the while, I was on the lookout for anything that might be a threat. I knew minotaurs loved their golems, and those things were built to last, as with anything built by them. I slowly ran a hoof over one of the workshop tables as I kept walking.

Dr. Coxa looked incredulous, "My Queen Chrysalis?" she snorted, "As much as I do respect my mother, I know as well as anyone that she was... misguided? Prideful is likely the word. She thought changelings should be the dominant race given our abilities, always looked down on ponies, earth ponies especially. So forgive me if I find it hard to believe she would even consider 'adopting' a pony. As a pet maybe, a love slave, but not so far to be considered one of us."

She moved to another page, "Tell me more about this Throne you speak of. My mother's throne was nothing special I assure you."

@Califorum

(You like causing issues don't you?)

Trixie would nearly run into another performer moving to enter the room as she left, a lanky and tired looking stallion who had the familiar garb of a street performer, "The shift right after the cycle is the worst am I right?" He chuckled to himself, "Don't think I've met you yet, you one of the new performers Dazzle was talking about? She was real excited about one mare, I think Tricky was her name? You wouldn't happen to know her wouldya? I was thinking of offering to partner-perform with her and show her the ropes, though I'd be happy to help you out too if you like?"

He wouldn't react negatively if she just shoved past him, simply shrugging and waving, "No worries, you have a great day!"

If she was determined to get somewhere, she'd notice that a good number were accumulating at the several cafeteria areas on the ship, she could either join them or enjoy some quiet time in the areas that would usually be busy like the library.

@Windy Breeze

Gypsum would smile and lead the way to the cafeteria, coincidentally joining the line behind Plein and Shadow.

Plein was surprised by the question, "Hmm? I'd say the normal sort, but It's all I've ever really known. I was very young when Mom and I came aboard. I like sweet things best, which is why I need an adult with me. They won't give me any more candy by myself because 'that's all I'd eat' and I don't see why that's a bad thing."

She noticed Gypsum come in behind them, a smile growing on her face, "Hi Gypsum! I made a friend! And it looks like you did too!"

@Courageous Thunder Dash

The quartermaster looked thoughtful, "Even so, there's a number of more custom and intricate parts that need replacing on a semi-regular basis. I'll send a message down to manufacturing and see what they think. If you want to do that more power to you, but if you feel passionately about being here I'd be happy to see where you fit in. How's your aerial combat? You just as good in the air as you claim to be on the ground?"

She started to walk around him, getting a visual appraisal of his physical stature as she waited for his answer.

Wandering further they would find an interesting sight: the hallway they were in connected to a much larger hallway running perpendicular to theirs, very large doors stood on either end. On the right the doors stood ajar, and they could feel some faint wind through the opening. The doors on the other side stood closed, flanked by a pair of motionless golems holding polearms. Both golems appeared damaged, and there was a worrying quantity of spawn corpses strewn about the hall, as well as a few destroyed golems.

(I suppose so. I got that idea for switching stuff around on the spot. Made me laugh as I typed it out haha).

Trixie would look to the tired stallion and stop in her walk. Spiral took over for Trixie. "I'm afraid I haven't heard anyone by that name. Good day to you. I hope you find who your looking for." she'd add casually and then left. Trixie and Spiral cackled at how they so easily fooled that stallion, and greatly enjoyed the thought of the chaos they had caused with the whiteboard. Serves Dazzle right for talking so downly towards the greatest pair of ponies that had EVER existed! (Or so they think)

Once out of sight of the stallion, she would pick up the pace and head to the largest cafeteria she could find. She would hide behind a corner and would poof her cape and hat away. She'd look like a normal pony instead of a performer, plus those that were performing had not seen her cutie mark or her entire mane. She would head into the most crowded area of the cafeteria for maximum cover. Trixie intended on staying in really busy places for as long as possible. Any ponies that were after her, if any suspicions arised around her they would not only not know where she went, but would have to search through tons of ponies to find her.

@Illiad Easle @Jack Baker

Maud would observe the carnage seen in the area. "Spawn were definitely down here attempting to retrieve some of what we can get. Or other things, really. On your guard." Maud spoke and would lead them towards the right. Maud was on high alert constantly, and paid attention to that strange wind that was coming through the door. She'd make sure none of the golems or spawn would provide a threat to them.

Shadow didn't know how to respond to Plein's statement, Windy's a lot more better when it comes to making and keeping coversations unlike her who's just trained to infiltrate and take intels from Canterlot Castle for her queen. Her raspberry eyes shied away from Plein “Well, I guess we could some candy and two sweet potato what do you say to that?"

However, Plein turned around not hearing Shadow's offer and noticing a Diamond Dog behind them.

As one who have lived through a few life altering experiences, I can say with certainty, that it is hard, but you will make it, and in the end, perhaps find yourself a better being, because of it. And just because you cannot be fully what you once were, does not mean you cannot take advantage of the knowledge you have. Perhaps you could be a wilderness guide? I know those were in high demand in certain areas, and it would give you the chance to show others the splendor of nature, whilst ensuring that they know how to stay safe. I can imagine once we return down there, things may be somewhat... Primal, in the forests, so those with knowledge on the wild, may well be in substantial demand."

A filly. Small, innocent, and harmless, right? Not to Brittle sadly, who'd respond to the wave by covering even further behind Briar, to a point where it looked as if she could almost be attempting to push through him. Though she did look at Plein, with eyes filled with fear, and expectations of horrible things. Not so much physical, but after escaping the circus, her experience with foals had not been different from how it had been in the circus. They were still laughing at her, and calling her out to be a monster. Casting her aside and throwing stones and words... *whimper*

Briar would bite note in the movement too, as well as Brittle's reaction, and would turn his head to face the small filly, and rise a hoof up to his chest, before giving a cordial bow towards the filly.

"I apologize young lady, but Brittle sadly cannot handle regular interactions all that well. Though your welcoming attitude towards her, are highly appreciated. It is heartwarming to experience. As is it to hear the presence of Shadow in your vicinity. Sadly I know far less than I'd like to about your company, but by association, I think only the best. Windy seems to think highly of you at least, and I trust her judgement to be good.

Though if I am overstepping my boundaries, I do apologize in advance. I try only to be kind.

Ah yes, and to go through with introductions: This is my work companion, whom I shall introduce as *Wilderbeast*, due to his penance for nicknaming others as well. My friend, this is Shadow. He and I were part of the same group, that were saved from the grasp of certain doom."

I observed the carnage in the room, taking note of the destroyed golems. Not only were the spawn in here, they seemed to be pretty tough considering how many golems they took with them. I narrowed my eyes at the remaining two blocking the doorway. As sturdy as my blade was, I wasn't sure it would fare well against their sturdy armor.

Alright Than... on my signal. If they move, take 'em out.

Trixie would find herself in the same line as Shadow, Serene, Briar, Brittle, Gypsum, and Plein, though it remained to be seen if they would recognize her first or if she would interact with them of her own accord.

@Courageous Thunder Dash

The quartermaster nodded, "Come with me then, I'll let High Tower evaluate your skills." She would lead the way out into the hallways and up several stairways until they were on the upper decks where there was an areal training area that overlooked the leisure and entertainment areas towards the middle of the ship. They were at the rear of the project, sitting over the hangers. An old, but still fit pegasus stallion stood watching a trio of pegasi go through an exercise.

The quartermaster walked right up to him, "General Hightower,"

"Quartermaster Taaffeite,"

"Got a recruit for you, got some strong boasting points on him, wanted to demonstrate his abilities."

The General looked Thundy over with an eye that betrayed a good amount of experience, "Hmm, better than the kind we usually get." He motioned to the trio flying above them, "Bring one of them down here, unharmed."

(They won't come willingly, and will fight back if physically coerced)

The line would move at a reasonable pace, and they'd soon be at the point where they would break off by their dietary needs. Before that though:

Plein and Gypsum would catch up a bit amongst themselves as their friends Shadow and Serene did the same.

The stallion that Briar had nicknamed Wilderbeast chuckled at the name he had been given, "You're Silver's foal aren't you? How is your mother doing? The hydroponics she installed have been working flawlessly."

Plein shrugged, "She's no worse for wear, she's better at times more often than before."

Plein in regards to Briar would look down, "That's sad, but she's not the only one like that, maybe Silver Lining could help her like she did for my mom? Gypsum works with her, maybe she could help?"

Dr. Coxa was a bit taken aback, "Hey now, I'll be the first to admit she wasn't perfect, but that's because I'm her daughter. It isn't nice to speak ill of others dead parents. Queens in general are a sensitive topic around here, most everyone's died so they could escape, there's only like three left when there used to be dozens. Queen Permu is the only one here on the project and has been kind enough to 'adopt' the rest of us who no longer have a queen. She's well over a thousand years old, maybe she knows something about this 'throne' of yours? I'll have to ask her."

She noted something down, "Speaking of, you mentioned something about the throne being bound to you, I assume you have some level of control over its abilities? Maybe its magic has corrupted you in some way? Most ponies who get bound to magical artifacts do suffer mental degradation after some time. Some sort of stable-ish form of antimagic then?"

The wind coming through the open door felt dry, like a desert wind, on the other side of the door was likely an exit to the labyrinth, or rather then entrance, which would explain how all the spawn had gotten in, they had overwhelmed the doors but had not been able to push much further than that. Closer examination of the doors would reveal that the hinges of the doors were golems as well, indicating that the closed doors on the opposite side might be the same.

Getting close enough to the door they'd hear some faint voices, "-ave sent more our way by now. We're never going to get through those doors. We're better off trying to mine around them."

"The walls are full of golems for that reason, you try to mine through and they close the cave on you, if they don't straight up murder you."

"Which is why we let the spawn do it, they're disposable, then we can break in and get all those riches for ourselves."

They didn't sound like anyone from the mining group.

Trixie wouldn't interact with any of the other ponies here. It was entirely possible that she herself would be recognized but she didn't recognize anyone here. This was a large crowd, all dust in the wind. The only thing that mattered was Trixie's own goals and aims. For now, that was to evade any of the performer ponies or anyone searching for her to the maximum extent possible. Upon getting her food, she would sit with the others. She wouldn't be talking with anyone unless if they spoke to her first. She was thinking about her plans. After the cafeteria break she would think about visiting other areas of the vessel they are on.

Maud would hush Raze as she silently listened in on their conversations, whispering Maud would speak. "Sounds like raiders. We better be careful. You, you have that spirit within you. You can fight them and we can find ourselves on into what we need. Do not worry about me. I am strong. But proceed with caution." She would stick to the walls, moving aside silently as she focused on where the voices were coming from. Finding out what they were up to came first.

Thundy stooped down and leaped into the air releasing a pulse of energy for a boosted launch. He headed towards the trio of flyers and flew in a shape that sort of resembled electrons orbiting an atom. He then gathered some electricity and let loose what seemed to be a trail of soft light around the trio. He kept his distance.

"In due time, I would appreciate help to perhaps address her understandable nervousness. Though despite that, I must ask that she please just gets some time first, to realise that this place is good, and that we are in no danger. I would prefer not risking her taking unneeded risks until that point. Your kindness are greatly appreciated though, young lady, and know that I will take your words to heart. When the time is right, I will set a meeting with Silver Lining. Might I ask whom she is though? I am curious, and uncertain if I have met her, or Gypsum, already. Things were somewhat hectic on arrival, so I have sadly not memorized many names yet."

He would smile down at her as he spoke, though doing his best to cover his teeth, as he had found that some younglings found it somewhat unnerving. A fear of getting eaten, even if he assured them that he would never do such a thing, perhaps? Maybe just a general instinct to be wary of predators? There could be many reasons, but he may as well try here, yes? nit sounded as if she were the daughter of someone important, and he surely didn't want to cause offense, or fear, with that in mind.

He would momentarily change where his head faced though, to face Trixie directly, and give her a minor, cordial bow, before returning his non-gaze to Plein. He would speak with her in due time, yet now did not seem to be the time, nor did she appear to have much of an urge to mingle. Perhaps when next they met.

“Nice to meet you again, Briar” Shadow said. She would say nothing as she listened to Plein and to the stallion's discussion who was probably accompanying Briar and would later find out Plein's more works in hydroponics. Serene too was listening and when he heard Gypsum being mentioned, he turned to ask you “You also work in... Uh... Hydroproponics?” in the town where Serene lived they don't know about hydroponics despite being an agricultural community, he only knew plants could be grown in soil as he and many local pegasi would help the farmers grow their crops and orchards for future successful profitsble harvests. Shadow knew some anout hydroponics due to her former job as a freelance photographer. She once visited a small facility in Horseshoe bay focused on creating alternative ways to grow plants.

Unsurprisingly, it was Serene who spoke first. Shadow was bad at giving advice since she grew in a family who praised a villain, “Depressed ponies should take time to talk with a lot of ponies and have fun with them” Serene chimed in, “I'm not saying she has to stop working, what I'm saying is she has enjoy all the stuff she did in the past”

Light face saddened when he heard that the Chrysalis in this dimension had died.

" Oh.... I'm sorry to hear that. I would've loved to talk with her again... I guess i was to late..."

" Well maybe... Or maybe not.... Again Chrysalis's throne absorbs magic... So any magic related degredation to me is absorbed by the artifact... Meaning magic poisoning, back fires, side effects, corruption or anything related to magic has no effect on me. And yes i do have control over it. And i suggest you find that material if you guys want to have a fighting chance with Discord... Or you can use grogar's bell."
