Remakes needs to die. Just think of something new already!

If you're going to adapt something stick to the source material! If you're not gonna do that write your own damn story!

Cinematic universes are overrated and rarely work.

Copyright laws juat make big corporations and mediocre artists rich.

I don't care about Kingdom Hearts anymore.

The long wait between Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3 made Kingdom Hearts 3 feel underwhelming when it was finally released. :worry:

Hmmm, I like Doom 1 more than Doom 2. Not to imply that Doom 2 is anything less than stellar, but I don't go back to it nearly as much as the first game.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Hollywood doesn't need to try so hard to be cinematic and high quality with it's movies and theatrical productions.

I'm not saying they need to go full-on cheap budget, like an old school tokusatsu or anything. However, they don't always need to use extreme amounts of CGI, tons of visual filters and effects, etc. Especially if it just translates into making visuals dark, hazy, muted, and washed out. Are you really enhancing anything by making it look like this? What's wrong with color or a stronger emphasis on practical effects?
Again, don't need to make a super cheap or lazy production. Movies all ready have bigger budgets that TV shows most of the time anyways. Just prioritize having a good story, good characters, and a good experience.

I would love to see Hollywood break away from this idea that they need to throw away tons upon tons of money to make movies look as high quality and cinematic as possible. You could dial it back a little and still make a great production. Do it right, and I doubt most people would notice that much of a difference.

I don't think the flood of Marvel after Endgame is bad, just mediocre, especially compared to what came before it. A lot of it just feels unfocused and uncoordinated because it doesn't tie together as well as the previous acts which makes a lot of it feel unnecessary if you don't really care about the universe or characters. Even if you do care, because there was so much content being released, it's hard to keep up with and keep track of everything. Instead of just keeping tabs on maybe around 2 movies a year, they're releasing stuff quicker, both movies and shows either in theaters or on streaming.

I feel like a lot of people just dismiss it as trash, but I don't feel like that's entirely right. I think a lot of it looks okay, and there's good ideas somewhere buried in there, but they just don't do a lot to grab your attention and it feels like a lot of the stories have the same vibe or format. I think you could probably argue that being boring is worse than being bad, but that's just up to personal opinion. I think if they just slowed down a bit and started focusing on building a cohesive story, they could redeem themselves and start to win back trust from their fans.

Also probably not unpopular, but I really think Disney should stop focusing on sequels and remakes. It's so tired and boring, I want to see more original content! I love Toy Story, but we do not need a 5th movie, I honestly don't even think we needed a 4th. I feel like if they're going to reboot or focus on any old property, it should be The Muppets.

I’m a little reluctant to share because I have rather a lot of unpopular opinions across various fandoms and I really don’t want to get into arguments over them so please just know my opinions are completely subjective I’m not claiming any objectivity here. This is all just my own personal perspective on things. I’m not looking to debate or have my view changed.

I hate Breath of the Wild, it’s by far my least favorite Zelda game. It felt too different like it wasn’t a Zelda game. Like it was trying to hard to be like other games like Minecraft by adding things like cooking and crafting and tools and weapons breaking. The voice acting really did not work for me. It felt odd to add voice acting in this late into the franchise. I already have distinct established voices for these characters in my head after years and years of playing various Zelda games so the voice acting just comes across very jarring for me. I also hated that your horse can die! (my animal loving heart can’t take such realism). I’ll admit I gave it my best shot, I really tried to give it a chance, but I didn’t make it far into the game before giving up on the whole thing. It just didn’t work for me at all.

Similarly was not a fan of Animal Crossing New Horizons. Again this adding of crafting mechanics and tools breaking (even golden ones which is insane) was something I was not a fan of. I didn’t like having to build the town up from scratch and being in control of everything like some god. I prefer the earlier games where the characters had character and could make their own choices about where they lived or what they wore, etc. Where as sad as it was they could even move away if they so chose. They felt more real that way. I didn’t like that New Horizons had goals and objectives and tasks for you to follow and complete. The thing I liked about the previous Animal Crossing games was how free and chill it was where you could choose to do or not do whatever you wanted with no real objective to the game.

Toph from Avatar The Last Airbender is overrated and my least favorite character in the show. She’s rude, bratty, obnoxious, and immature and has in my view little to no growth compared to the others. The show just kind of treats her like she’s awesome the way she is and doesn’t need to change which I disagree with. I personally find her very unlikable.

I really do not like BbRae as a ship from Teen Titans. I just do not get why it’s so beloved. They acted more like siblings to me and Beast Boy rarely ever respected Raven’s boundaries, wishes, or privacy. Yes they do to grow to understand one another better over the course of the show but I ultimately feel they are far too different to ever work as a couple. I don’t usually have this strong of opinion on ships but this one I just really can’t stand.

I don’t get Spirited Away at all. It’s one of the most beloved Ghibli movies but I just don’t get why. The whole thing feels like a bizarre fever dream to me more than an actual movie (even after watching it multiple times in an attempt to see what everyone else is seeing here). I wouldn’t even say it’s bad or anything it’s just too weird and confusing for my tastes. (And yes people have tried to explain to me why they love the movie I still don’t get it).

I hated the second and third How to Train Your Dragon movies and basically pretend they don’t exist. My reasons for hating them are too long to get into here.

I’m not really one for sequels in general though to be honest. More often than not I find them to be either unnecessary or ruin everything I loved about the first one.

This is getting pretty long so I’ll end here even though I unfortunately have plenty more unpopular opinions. I wish I didn’t but I do.

reboots/adaptations dont have to be THAT close to their source material. of course theres a limit to how much you can change from the source material before its no longer the same thing, but if the reboot/adaptation is the exact same thing as the OG then it just ends up boring and adds nothing of value that wasnt already there. if something i like is getting a reboot/au piece of media, i actively *want* to see a new take on it, not just the same exact thing ive already seen but again and in maybe a different medium.

Minecraft is simply the greatest game of all time. As beloved as it is by many, I'm sure a lot of people would be ready to toss bagels at my windows for having such a view.

On a similar 'bagels hitting my windows' note, and I may have said this before, but Elden Ring is extremely overrated and not even close to FromSoft's best work.

My Little Pony The Movie(2017) was really mid

I actually thought it was awful. It very much felt like a "TV show on the big screen" affair, trying to hit everything in a checklist. Then there's the Twilight scene, you know, that one and I ended up hating it upon retrospection. The ending song was quite nice at least. The G5 movie though? Amazing stuff. The jump in quality from FiM's to G5's was awe-inspiring. Just a shame it set the bar up in space and the show simply had zero chance of living up to it.

I don't think it was a bad movie myself. I mostly enjoyed it. But looking back at it now, it was just painfully average and by the numbers. A few great songs, sure, but ultimately I find it pretty unremarkable, and it's just a movie that I don't think should be glazed by the fandom as much as it is, as it's neither the best MLP movie or even the best G4 movie
