TMNT 2023 sounds really bad, and yet people seem to love it

Judging by "Rotten Tomatoes". They cant be other than... phone users as i call them. I dont think intelligent people could say "Oh this was a great movie". I would rather have Adam Sandler back over Seth Rogen.

But few people seem to hate it. But my reaction from hearing some of the plot in the movie

"Splinter learns martial arts from watching old Kung Fu movies".

That right there. This right there should have gotten Seth Rogen banned from making any movies ever. Thats the worst low IQ writing i have ever heard. I have not seen the film, because i dont want to watch something i know i will not like.

But i will trust this guy's reason is good one for why its bad. It really looks like a movie made by people who hate TMNT or something.

TMNT stuff i know is good is 1980s cartoon, 2003 series. Not seen the 2012 tv series however, i have heard that one is also good. But let me know what you think?

I love a lot of TMNT movies, but I hated Mutant Mayhem. They really dropped the ball on this one. As with so many movies over the past few years, they derailed any integrity of the franchise by adhering to an agenda rather than just making the movie audiences wanted to see. Maybe I’m just more sensitive to it than most, but when I feel I’m being indoctrinated, even in subtle ways, to some Hollywood board room’s checklist, I am aware of it and immediately feel like I’m no longer a paying patron, but someone else’s tool. There were some things I liked, such as Superfly; I thought Ice Cube played him well. But April O’Neal was turned into a frumpy, uninteresting character that was represented as wildly attractive, but they could have found a fire hydrant with better looks, personality and fidelity to the original character. The animation style was okay, if not a tad of a gimmick, but I can roll with that. Overall, the film shot itself in the foot before it was able to get up to speed. Hard pass on this one.

I didn't like the animation style of Mutant Mayhem at all and I didn't care about the story or the characters.

Bummer for a "TMNT fan" like I claim to be but I have a really difficult time accepting changes/new additions to this particular franchise.

I'm stuck on the 80's cartoon and TMNT: The Movie, Secret of the Ooze and the Turtles in Time video game.

I usually hate reboots but turtles(like all superheroes) has had a ton of different versions since I was a kid so I'm more forgiving of that. You should try the 2003 series? I think it's the best of them all.

I watched the movie, and I thought it was... Okay.

Mid.

Not the greatest thing under the TMNT franchise banner, but not the worst. There were some minor things I didn't care for, but they were mostly nitpicks. To me, the biggest thing that stood out was the ending of the movie. They really took me by surprise when they tried to go for a wholesome ending. ...Not sure who was wanting to see TMNT taken in that specific direction, but I'm sure some people will like it.

Still, while it might not be the greatest, it must have been successful enough. I heard there is a video game based on the movie, and there's a cartoon series based on the movie? And unless things have changed, I think a sequel movie has been in development. :ooh:

It does make me think. How does Seth Rogen keep getting to make movies type of questions, because clearly he lacks any form of intelligence to make any previous property grow to begin with, outside (DRUGS AND WEED jokes). I imagine he is the type of guy who wouldnt use nostalgia member berries for, lets say "NARC Arcade game".
