Otaku-sempai 662 Wednesday at 05:45 PM Share Wednesday at 05:45 PM Variety reports: Quote “My Little Pony” is getting ready to gallop on to the big screen in a live action feature from Amazon MGM Studios and Hasbro Entertainment, Variety has confirmed. Based on the popular toys that date back to 1982, the ponies have cantered into numerous animated series and feature films since the 1980s. The most recent feature-length outing was “My Little Pony: A New Generation” in 2021, which became popular on Netflix after its theatrical release from Paramount was canceled due to Covid. This will be the first live action project for the 43-year old property, which has captivated several generations with its rainbow-hued animals with colorful neon manes and tails. The project is still in development with no creative team in place yet. Yeah, probably. Those movies were popular so they're probably hoping to cash in on it. I really hope it's good. I'm a bit tired of CGI cartoons nowadays (regardless if it's full animated or cartoon-ish characters in live-action). I would personally prefer just a 2D movie or another 2.5D movie like the 2017 one. But I understand why they don't want to use those techniques anymore. Well I just hope that the ponies will look visually appealing, even though I have no idea how exactly it will work, but I'm curious about it, so I'll be waiting for any future revealing images.
