So when I stepped out of my room at 5am, I found this nice little surprise.

(Note I already killed them when I took the pictures)

And this is the reason I hate Texas.

Stupid. Freaking. Ants.

Anyone else have this problem?

i used to have a crack in my house in the kitchen, and ants would get in from there. someone patched it up but i have no idea how the crack got there

I have no clue where they come from.

They just sneak in and bite me.

Burn your house down. I guarantee it will kill the ants.

Ok, in all seriousness, not really sure, ants are quite the problem. I used to live in Arkansas and we had ant problems quite frequently. Ant baits work kinda well, they won't get all of them but you'll have a lot less, usually.

Don't leave any remnants of food around. They will find it and before you know it that crumb is gonna be covered with ants. ._.

I don't leave any food out ._.

They just come in and start searching.

  • 6 years later...

We had an ant infestation before but they're not as bad as raccoons. We had those in our attic before. I had to go up there all Rambo style with my pellet gun and lay down the law, even had my Bowie knife in my teeth. (I did not actually have a Bowie knife in my teeth, I probably would have dropped it and cut my tongue when the raccoons mounted their counter-attack and chased ME out of the attic)

It is not the ant infestations you have to worry about, it is the Uncles.

Also, depending upon where you live, they are often coming inside to find water or warmth or escape from it. Ants, like people are looking for the perfect home to protect them from the elements... sometimes they just prefer to take over yours instead of building their own.
