My first MLP fan art

This is the first drawing i have done of any of the characters in the show, just want to know what people think of it.

 

I just decided to redo rainbow dash in a different pose, this one doesnt have the line below her ear that makes it look like it is stitched to her head. this one is also more proportional.

It looks pretty good, the colors are neither dull nor too saturated. Though you should touch up on the ear, it looks stitched on because of that one line. Good job though.

Wow, i didnt realize that this was that good, there are so many drawings and renderings that are amazing on this forum so i didnt think it would be that good compared to them...i used to draw simpler things on paper, but this was the first time i ever tried to draw something this complex , and even when i used to draw i only drew like around 4 or 5 things and then i got bored

For a first time drawing, this is astoundingly good; you even managed to get the body proportions correct which most others, for a first time, never get right. Especially good job on the cutie mark. Kudos.

 

On Constructive Criticism -

 

You shouldn't use the line tool when doing work unless you're trying to find points to line up on figures, you left a line right across the ear by mistake.

 

On the line tool again, the top hair looks strange without it rounding with the hair.

 

And as for the hair on top, putting out a tad more would definitely help it's image.

 

You dark toned the legs on the bottom, but forgot to do the wing up above.

 

This once again is a very good first time piece on Rainbow Dash and hope you improve with time.

i didnt draw the cutie mark... i probably should have said that in the original post, i tried to draw it but i just could not draw the cloud, it always looked awkward. The rest i drew though, and about the ear, i just layered it wrong, it wasnt a line tool i used a pen tool for basically the entire thing

Interesting, that's exactly what I use for my Illustrations for nearly the entire project in Adobe Illustrator.

Still, even with the cutie mark and the ear problem you still have a good handle on how to do proportions fairly well.

well, i cant fix the line going across the bottom of dashies ear because i only saved a .png file and .png files are just the solid image, not the broken down pieces of the drawing.

 

well i drew Fluttershy, and i saved two different files so if i need to fix something this time i can

Nice job on this! Certainly better then my first fan art drawing, and I started out with Rainbow Dash too! Some constructive criticism would be to shade the eyes and make the legs a bit more stable. Additionally, it would be nice if you drew her cutie mark instead of copypasting a vector to make it completely your creation, but that's a bit difficult. Keep drawing, I can't wait to see more from you!

yeah i dont really like how i just imported a picture of the cutie mark, but i spent a while trying to just draw the cloud... i dont understand how something that simple is so hard for me to draw.
