Brushables or Fixed mane ponies?

I'm trying to decide what I want to buy. I really like the ponies that look as much as the show characters as possible, but I also like the idea of loose hair. What should I get?

Definitely fixed hair for me. I cannot stand the brushables. I can't get their hair perfect and that drives me insane! But even the fixed hair isn't perfect but it's better than what I can do with brushables. Which is why I use them.

 

So I'd recommend brushables if you're talented with it. Otherwise fixed hair for sure. If you're like me that is.

Play acting mostly. Sometimes I just keep 'em near the window, and watch as the light surrounds it. It's fantastic.

Ohh I much prefer the brushables. But I like restyling so that it actually looks like their hair. I can't do it with all of them, but I did pretty well with Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie. I mean, well, ok Pinkie isn't that great, at least she doesn't look totally like her show-self, but she's still cute.

Brushables, some look really good and some do not. OtakuSquirrel on DA does a magnificent resin hair mold for those who do not like the normal hair. Gonna get some soon!

I hate the brushables :/

they don't even look like the show and their mane usually gets tangled and ugly looking.

The brushables are hard to get show accurate. I'd go for the fixed, but it's your choice.

 

The brushables hasbro sells look creepy...

Absolutely brushables for me. I love brushing their hair, it's soothing and gives me a chance to "play" with my ponies. My fixed hair ponies just kind of...sit there, and I don't like how it makes them look even more plastic-like and lifeless. At least with the brushables it gives them a sort of individuality, which I like. It doesn't bother me if the hair isn't 100% show accurate. My ponies have personality, they're not carbon copies of the show

I like both equally, but I wish Hasbro would make nonbrushables (like the blind bag ponies) in the same size as the brushable ponies. If they did that and made them look like they do in the show, I'm sure they'd sell like crazy despite not having "real" hair.

 

I like the brushables just fine, but boy, their hair gets tangled and horrible looking really fast! I pretty much just comb mine until they look good, then sit them up on a shelf and don't touch them. My four-year-old daughter plays with her ponies (she has more than I do), and of course the hair always looks like a total rat's nest because she won't comb them. LOL.

I think both toys has their pros and cons, brushables manes don't look like the original characters manes, not in a slight bit. However, if you're a gifted hair stylist it would be pretty easy to reacreate each character mane like the show originals, it would have this 'real' look to it.

fixed manes, are static, but it looks really good, I don't know, I've never seen original Hasbro MLP toys with fixed mane, but I've seen some pretty cool custom manes and they look awesome!

Finally, my daughter is with her daddy today, so i got a chance to take a picture of the ponies I fixed up. They're not prefect, but they look alright Also, my camera recently died, so I had to use my husband's phone. Not that fantastic, sorry.

 

But... I think they're fun anyway, and they'll sit around her cake. I don't have them all, wish I did, but alas.. not right now.

Thanks. Yeah Fluttershy was the hardest because of the glitter. No, I didn't put it there, they came with glitter strands of hair, which is really annoying... but whatever. It doesn't straighten out very well, so Fluttershy's got a funky thing going on, but my 3 year old will love it! It was kinda tricky to do it, but it was fun.

I like the figures of the brushables better, but the true-to-show fixed hair is worth it. Plus, I am in love with Pinkie's fixed mane--so curly and adorable <3
