I see this idea everywhere all the time, and I think it could make a really funny episode. Except I'm really not sure if something like it could be on MLP or not.

Well, since Applejack and Rarity are polar opposites, i think they're the most reasonable candidates for body swapping. Maybe it can be Twilight messing up some kind of spell and accidentally swapping the bodies. I dont know. We'll have to find out

I'm shocked that this idea hasn't aired that. It's one of the standard episodes that they play in ALL kids shows, but the scenario sounds interesting, but they have to swap with the pony that's the opposite of them.

Now this sounds like an interesting episode, would cause chaos and I can only imagine the shenanigans that the mane six would get into while trying to figure out how to reverse the spell.

Sometimes it can seem like nopony else understands what you are going through, and you may find it hard to believe that what they are going though might be even worse. It took one wild adventure for me to learn, nopony's life is perfect, and only together can we work though some of our biggest problems. I already thought about this once and here's the pairs I thought would be the best.

 

Rarity and Rainbow Dash because they're complete opposites

 

Fluttershy an Appeljack because AJ is strong while Fluttershy is kind of weak.

 

Twilight and Pinkie because, Twilight is super serious while Pinkie is... Pinkie.

I could see it happen, but only if they put a funny twist to it as well, such as Rainbow Dash becoming Applejack and not being able to fly. I'd also like Pinkie becoming a unicorn, just to see what she would do with magic.

 

I'd personally also like to see Spike become an incredibly handsome unicorn and impressing Rarity-and everyone else, for that matter.

The problem with body swap episodes is that you can only do so much with them. They have been done over and over again are they are good for a few cheap jokes but for the most part I would hope that the writers of MLP would show more creativity and pass on making a body swap episode.

Since many of the characters were originally supposed to be different designs (Pinkie was originally going to be a pegasus, and Fluttershy the earth pony), I think it'd be cool if they catered to that. Pinkie in Dash's body, for example. Everypony's bucked.

I love the body swap trope, so I'd be all over this! In fact, I'm sort of surprised that the show hasn't had one already.

 

Anyway, what really interests me about what would happen if the cast got switched, is the fact that some ponies have abilities that others don't. For example, if AJ switches with Twilight, she'll have Twilight's magic. Rainbow Dash switching with Pinkie wouldn't be able to fly. The unicorns use magic as casually as breathing and RD almost never has all four hooves on the ground, so it'd be interesting seeing how they'd cope. Or what AJ and Pinkie would do if they suddenly had magic or were able to fly.

I wouldn't mind such an episode in the show however im not sure exactly how they should execute the episode. Personally the whole "A Mile in their shoes" (or hooves in this case) would seem a bit bland.

I'd love to see this done. Sure practically every kids show ever made has a body swap episode, but it's always a lot of fun.

 

I think it should be a full shuffling of the mane 6, not just swapping in pairs. And to give it an interesting twist, some of them are actually a little disappointed to get back to their own body at the end.

 

Pinkie in Twilight's body would just be too hilarious to pass up. Total destruction of physics

 

Fluttershy in Rainbow's body would be really interesting... on the one hand, she can't communicate with animals as well, but on the other hand the raw physical strength and flying speed is fun! It would be awesome if the experience had lasting effects, resulting in Fluttershy spending more time flying with Rainbow in the future

 

Rainbow in Rarity's body... the magic powers would give her something to do other than be depressed about losing her wings. Hair might be a little frizzy by the end of the day, but it would be adorable if she was actually impressed with how nice her body looks, and sneakily plays dress up with the clothes around the shop

 

Applejack in Fluttershy's body would be entertaining, seeing her struggle to get along with all the timid critters, and panic when flying. Also, in Soviet Fluttershy, apple tree bucks you

 

Twilight in Applejack's body... aside from trying to figure out how to undo the whole thing, she'd probably actually kind of enjoy the farm life. Also would be awesome to get some Twilight/Celestia interaction, with added awkwardness of being in the wrong body

 

And finally, Rarity in Pinkie's body... I think she'd spend the entire episode trying to untangle her hair, eventually accept her defeat, and then it deflates on its own. But due to being happy about straightening it out, it poofs back up again. Finally, Pinkie teleports in and magics it to look however she wants

Anywho, I think having all six ponies switch bodies would be too much for one episode. Having to follow all six would mean each pony only gets a couple of minutes screen-time max. The concept is cool, though. It's been suggested multiple times in the episode idea thread (from all six ponies, to just AJ and Rarity).

I love bodyswapping in general, though I'm more used to it as the primary plot point of a whole series rather than a one-time episode in something that otherwise isn't about that. I can see the potential in it even just for one episode though.

I hope this does become an episode one day. The way I see it:

 

- Rainbow Dash should be in Rarity's body, because a tough and tomboyish Rarity sounds adorable

- Rarity should be in Twilight's body, because a proper and elegant Twilight sounds adorable

-Twilight should be in Pinkie Pie's body, because an eggheaded Pinkie Pie sounds adorable

- Pinke Pie should be in Applejack's body, because a Random and Party loving Applejack sounds adorable

- Applejack should be in Fluttershy's body, because a cowgirl Fluttershy sounds adorable

- Fluttershy should be in Rainbow Dash's body, because a meek and shy Rainbow Dash sounds really adorable

I've mentioned that a few posts ago. If they were to swap bodies, they would keep the voice but the accent and tone would be closer to that of the other character. (Rarity having a Texan accent if Applejack is swapped into her.)

It's a good idea. Overused, but the writers of MLP could make it really funny. I imagine there would be fanastic gags used and the message at the end would be super sweet.
