Bill Clinton: Presidentential Brony

Recommended Posts

Well guys, according to this article here

http://www.smosh.com/smosh-pit/articles/president-bill-clinton-brony

Bill Clinton, our former president, may be a brony. Apparently, he answered several questions about Friendship is Magic with shocking detail, such as cutie marks and Nightmare Moon. If this is true, our influence as bronies has expanded far enough to make an internationally recognizable figure one of us. Discuss, my fellow bronies.

... do we care that much about who is or isn't a brony, seriously if he is a brony what will happen will we all jump for joy and acheve an all new smugness level over non bronies, hell any celeb could be a brony we already know Chris Evens played with the toy and may be a bronie.

i mean seriously should we be happy when a famous person come out of the brony closet, because justin beiber could be a brony. just thought id relay that to people

Snip

I dunno, I just thought it was kind of cool that a former president, someone who had major influence, has something in common with me and all of us.

Call me shallow or whatever you want, but those are the kind of pegasisters we probably don't want. (No offense to Bieber fans, but if you join a following simply because of a celebrity... You need to learn to think for yourself.)Clinton has always been one of my favorite presidents, and this only adds to my admiration of him. :P

I have a sort of split opinion on this. On one hand I feel it is wonderful our influence has been enough for famous people to say that liked it (i.e. Gabe Newell, Bill Clinton, Notch (liked clips he saw, though not a brony because he does not identify as such)). I think it is wonderful to spread our fanbase and as a reason to people that being a brony is not so wrong. It is a sign our community has blossomed into something incredible.

On the other hand, they are just people. We follow them and look up to them for their popularity, while in many ways, they are like us. They can have opinions and likes, they have personal friends and lives, they often even have children *gasp* Really, people look up to them (at times, not always) just for how big they are. It's in some ways sad we follow a select few people. On the other hand it has become an incredible tool to get less well known things more well known. As bronies have demonstrated, however, that can happen when large groups of passionate people pop up and rise to the occasion.

I really didn't have much to say about it other than that, to be honest it makes me happy to know that he is a brony. It makes me happy it will help spread the word. Logically it just doesn't make sense to put so much control over media in the hands of few.

When someone famous (in a good way) became a brony, you guys all like "OMG SOMEONE FAMOUS IS A BRONY, WE ARE FAMOUS AAAA!!! HATERS BE DAMNED!"

And when someone said that bronies are nothing but a whole bunch of fapping furries, you all like "DON'T JUDGE US JUST BY ONE MAN, YOU NEED SEE THIS FANDOM AS A WHOLE!"

Oh dear, I pity this community

I hate to rain on your parade, but look at the original NPR segment where former President Clinton answers the questions (http://www.npr.org/2011/06/25/137386121/bill-clinton-plays-not-my-job). The multiple-choice questions asked to him about the show had very obvious answers (the other possible answers were pretty much jokes), so the fact that he answered the questions correctly does not necessarily indicate any familiarity with the show, let alone being a brony. I think the article which the OP cites is exaggerating when it suggests that former President Clinton is a brony.

This is true. I have read what questions were asked of Bill. They gave him three answers to chose from on each question. Two of those answers given were stupid and were clearly the wrong ones that anyone, even if they had no idea what MLP was all about, would know that those were the wrong answers. So it's really no surprise that he got them all right.

To be honest, It might even be possible that Bill has never watched MLP ever. The show he was quizzed on probably made the wrong answers so stupid, that they knew he would pick the right answer, so then they could perhaps humiliate him about him liking MLP even though he's probably never seen it in his life.

With how childish some of these TV talk shows in America are acting like, I wouldn't be surprised.

It's not just America, there's even a few here in the UK. They're probably all over the world. :(

I don't think he would consider himself to be a brony personally. I could see him like the show but I do not seem him calling himself a brony anytime soon.
