Hello every one, so in this guide i will tell you:

how to avoid forum drama

how to fix the problem

and how to state your opinion respectfully

 

 

so first things first, how to avoid forum drama all together, well the biggest thing to do is not be a jerk, if your nice and respectful, you should have no problem. but say you do do all of this, and some one tries to start something with you. the first thing you should do is not pay any attention to them, if they cant express them selves in a respectful manor, then they are not worth your time, if they continue to bother you, use the forums nifty ignore tool so you'll never have to see them again, and if some how they still bother you, tell a mod or feld0, the mods around here are awesome people and some of the best mods I've ever seen! now in the unlikely event that you do see a mod acting like a jerk, tell fedl0, you can always trust on him to do the right thing. The important thing is is to keep a cool head and not let anything get to you, remember, this is the internet, don't take anything too seriously, especially jokes, remember on the internet, apathy is your friend!and by any chance you do get made, stand up from your computer and walk away, return when you have calmed down. another tip you can use is, if you see a topic or status update that you know will rustle your jimmies, walk away and don't even bother with it, don't even click on the thread! now lets say your part of a debate, or argument, and you want to state your opinion, be respectful of the other persons opinion, they are entitled to their opinion just as you are, and be polite, don't lower your self to petty insults, if you cant make a point with out being rude, then don't bother, just leave the argument, and keep in mind, in those kind of arguments, nobody wins, and if you find your self in a discussion, don't be afraid to admit defeat, don't lower your self to insulting the other person, its ok to lose an argument on the internet, no one will think less of you, however if the winner starts boasting and calling you out for admitting defeat, either ignore him or report him,

I totally agree with you, and I respect you for knowing this, which so many people don't know. If you're nice and people aren't nice to you, then there's a problem with them. Stating your opinion is kind of risky, but you can always find something that you agree in in another person's opinion, and try to agree with that one little thing, and you won't seem like your offending them.

I do admit I get sucked into all the drama every once in a while, but really, it's easy enough to deal with a hostile person by being vanilla nice and remaining completely calm. This will drive them absolutely insane, and end up getting them in trouble instead of yourself. Problem solved.

Don't create anything and call it "official" without asking Feld0 first. This also applies to things that may not necessarily use the word "official" but may still be mistaken as such. Just ask nicely - it's only a problem if you do it without permission, and Feld0 will usually say yes. If you're wondering why we have this policy, please take a look at this post.

This is very unnecessary. There is just one simple way to avoid forum drama. Stop talking about it. Drama is just a temporary thing. Don't treat it like a big deal, and it all goes away. There has not been forum drama in a while. Talking about what has happened does nothing for the future of the forum. Just let it go, and let people move on with their lives. Simple.

Respect is the key for everything, and I really think the internet needs a lot of it... Respect other members, respect their opinions, be polite when sharing your personal opinions, and be open for any kind of critics. Other than that, know how to take jokes and don't exaggerate when making them either. Keep in mind that some kinds of humor may be offensive to some...

 

But you pretty much summed this all up already, so meh~

Oh for Gods sake they're just mods. Maybe zoop does a lot of work, idk. I seriously have not seen them do the super-amazing-awesome-impossible work you people imply they do. Some of them are fine, sure, yeah. But they're not Gods.

 

 

This forum worships its staff, and if ANYONE even slightly insults the moderators, their fans come out in a frenzy and berate them and praise how great the mods out.

The mods on this site are just like every other site I've been on, pretty much nonexistent except for the occasional locked thread, except this is the only site that praises them.

 

And once again, Feld0 is a person. He picked a bunch of users he thought were good. He's not a God who magically knows who the best mod is.

i dont see your problem, its the mods jobs to take care of this sort of thing, the mods here are a heck of a lot more friendly than in other places and feld0 is very mature and trustable

So, according to this guide, my SAD is my friend?? Haha, I knew it would come in handy someday.

 

Anyhow, a great guide. It didn't really help me, because I somewhat already was doing what you wrote in the guide. But I am certain that it helped other people.
