[UPDATED] Dashie statue for my sis ^_^

Wow, that's quite good. Now it only needs a coat of paint and glazing, if you're going to do it of course. (it would look even better IMO)

 

As a fellow sculptor I approve this statue. :)

Hey guys. I just finished making a small Dashie statue out of polymer clay, baked it just now, actually. And yes, I forgot the tail. I'll bake it as soon as temperature outside drops below 35 degrees

I'd go with painting it. Dash is the most colourful pony afterall, so leaving her uncolored would almost seem wrong. I'm sure your sis will be overjoyed with such a great gift either way.

Coming from a sculptor it's huge since this is my 4th work ever, 3rd with this material. O_o I'll paint it. :D

Thank you! I'm currently trying to get rid of the color from places it's not supposed to be on. And I also managed to tear both wings apart. But whatever. -_- :D

Amm... I'm not a major sculptor, it's a hobby that I have. What I mean to say is that I'm not THAT good as you (supposedly) think.

And have fun painting. :P I always hate the painting part.

If you're confident with your painting skills, you should definitely paint it! I think Rainbow Dash looks best when you can see why she's called that.

I think just painting the hair and tail would make it look cooler than painting the rest of it, but hey it is your project :)

Okay, painted it. It was hard and also my 1st time... So bare with me. I can't help it, but it looks SOOOOO much better irl and I'm not saying that just as an excuse. :D

Now I'm envious... Damn good job man! A perfect gift indeed. I'm unsure though whatever would it be better to leave it as it is or to paint it... Since the mane and tail are the most symbolic parts of her body, it seems enough as it is now.

I decided to give it to her for Christmas actually. She is leaving country and we don't think it would survive the flight O_o. (Well, she is afraid, I trust my creations xD)

Well, I'll make other sclupts for her... Maybe the whole mane 6!

 

Speaking about wanting one... How much would you be willing to pay? I'm not saying I'll be making them and selling them, but I would still like to know the raw estimate of value of my work! :D

Ah, I see you did end up painting only her mane, I think it turned out pretty great, the tail makes it look much better than before as well. If my sibling gave that to me I would love it. I think it is a really good gift idea with thought behind it.

I got like... Super used to my dashie statue, so I ended up making a different one night before I met my sis... Here she is!  :wub:

She is about 20% bigger (well, actually even more) and I really like her mane tail. It's a shame her right wing fell down when I was baking her. :(
