Hello, roleplayers of MLP Forums! I have one more announcement to make to cap off this exciting week of changes to our beloved Roleplay World.

 

Some of you, I know, are deterred from roleplaying with all but the closest of your associates, whether out of fear or shyness. Others, I'm sure, are beginners just starting to taste the air, and you just don't know where to start. And a lot of you (heck, even I'm guilty of this one) have clumped together in a few select roleplays over the months, with the same group of people, again and again. But no matter where you stand in RP World, wouldn't you like to participate in a large community event of some sort? Get to meet a few new faces, while still roleplaying with the friends you've grown accustomed to? Wouldn't it be oh-so-gleefully confusing to roleplay with many dozens of people you've never met before in an epic adventure of a lifetime, making new friends in-character as well as out?

 

Wouldn't it be nice to have an all-inclusive event that brings the community as a whole closer together?

 

That's exactly what we've been thinking, and I'm proud (and quite anxious as well) to announce the first of what I hope will be many RP World community events, designed to bring a friendly air and sense of camaraderie to a subforum that many have complained as having an intimidatingly steep learning curve. Naturally, you're all a large part of this. As this is our first time launching such an event, we're anxious to hear your thoughts. Is it a good idea? The dumbest thing you've heard in your life? "Reserve a spot for me!" or "I'd never join this in a million years"?

 

Most of all, if it's something you would like to see implemented, we'd also greatly appreciate any plot ideas you have. There's no way we can satisfy everyone, but if a large majority seems to want a specific plot (Example: Slice of life in Manehattan, quest to recover the 6 elements of harmony...etc), we'll base the community roleplay off of that and try to work in everypony else's suggestions.Don't feel too pressured about committing to anything, but please leave a comment below if this interests you. ^^

 

Edit: In response to what seems to be the number one question...we haven't actually figured out what to do yet. All I'm trying to do is see if anypony would be interested in the concept of a large community roleplay. :3

Sign me up. I'd love to see where this goes, and I'm really hoping for an adventure. I've never had the chance to do adventure, and I think I would love it. My vote goes to vague adventure plot!

Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh! This sounds awesome and I would sign up for anything you throw at me and it would be so fun and I would meet new people and BREATH I would get to role play with a bunch of new people and it would be fun and did I already say that and BREATH and so many OCs in one place would be awesome and a huge story like that would become like a legacy and I can't wait!

 

My only concern is that it would be extremely easy to get ninja'd or lose the story or get drowned in other posts.

As far as an idea goes… I really do favor a sort of vague adventure type thing. To me, that seems like the type of thing that is most likely to be a success with a mountain of random players. I could be wrong though…

And then a catastrophic disaster happens involving villains (Lookin at you Discord; your the reason Lenora in PB kept using retaliate to murder my pokemon) that are working together and all the normal ponies work together to win.

We're currently in discussion on how we can specifically avoid these circumstances. As to how things will work have yet to be decided, but I assure you that we are looking at this from all possible angles to make sure that it runs smoothly and effectively. The last thing we want is for somepony to get left behind in a community event.

 

As far as a main plot is concerned, we're still working on that too. I do like the vague adventure Idea that we can fine tune with.

This seems like an interesting idea. It would also give me a chance to use my OC that just kinda sits there and does nothing. It seems every RP I use him in dies or I just stop posting. I'll join, though I can't say I have too many ideas for the plot. I'll sleep on it and maybe something will come to me tomorrow.

The archetype that I've been seeing a lot around here has been an Equestrian War. I've participated in a few, but they usually either die or end in a total shitstorm/pissing contest. Maybe if one was organized by the staff, it would be better.

Great idea! I like roleplaying with the people I've already roleplayed with, as I more or less know their "style", and meeting new roleplayers is as good, because I get to make new files in my brain. I'm in! When do we start, and am I already allowed to make an OC?

 

As for an idea, here's a short list:

-A party!

-Something associated with the elements.

-A slice of life RP.

-A giant version of the Mystery Murder RP we're working on, maybe with two or three murderers working together

-A travelling party, or some kind of immigration. Lots of death there!

 

That should be enough to get things rolling.
