Discordian 6,015 November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 Anything and everything from Nier, Sonic and the Black Knight, Wild Guns, Wild Arms 2 and The World Ends With You. No seriously. All of these games have the best soundtracks in all of gaming. Oh whoops, I didn't realize I posted in this topic already. lmao My bad, my bad. (Little bit of filler to fill up the post so I can actually, ya know, post.)
Descant 1,898 November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 (edited) I love the new music for Halo 4, I gotta say. The sounds, there, too, are just amazing. Whoever did the audio for that game deserves a medal. Other than that, I like the Pokemon Route 2 theme, and basically any music from the Legend of Zelda. Tetris has a catchy theme as well. How did I forget Glados's songs from Portal and Portal 2? *facehoof* Edited November 27, 2012 by Descant Find the Heart of the Jungle! Still searching for players! Join today! Aaramus 449 November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 (edited) I can't seem to find the name of it but the music in first boss fight of Super Meat Boy is simply great. Also as I already like Cage the Elephant, hearing "Ain't no Rest for the Wicked" on my first Borderlands play through was quite special. Can't go without mentioning "Still Alive" and "Want You Gone". DusK 1,264 November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 I can't seem to find the name of it but the music in first boss fight of Super Meat Boy is simply great. You're referring to "The Battle of Lil' Slugger", composed by Danny Baranowsky. I'm a big fan of the guy; I'm a VGM remixer and aspiring game composer, so I tend to look up to the guys in the industry like Danny B., who started in the OverClocked ReMix community. .

dar tunsh 446 November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 (edited) I gotta post the two classics that I love the most: I dunno what it is, but something about Gourmet Race is just really catchy. I'll love this 'till the day I die. [/media] The other is the menu theme frome Metroid Prime. I love it when electro 'n' orchestral choir are mixed together. Magpie 623 November 29, 2012 Share November 29, 2012 (edited) Final Fantasy 6 Dancing Mad and Devil's Lab are two of my favorites. Dancing Mad really gives me a feel of Kefka's madness, and Devil's Lab fits perfectly with the Magitek facility, it gives me a feel that this is where the world's problems are stemming from, while also big just a good industrial feel. EDIT: And the portal/portal 2 ending themes. Forgot about them till I started to read through the thread. A Blithering Div 247 November 29, 2012 Share November 29, 2012 Another one of my favorites from one of the best FPS games to come out: Heard during highway 17 when you're underneath the train bridge. I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you? Envy 6,189 November 29, 2012 Share November 29, 2012 The Kingdom Hearts series has great music, I particularly have loved this one since I played Birth By Sleep: The Zelda series has great music, as well. I have plenty of favorites, but I tend to mention this one since the Oracle games are probably less played. I simply love the theme, and I wish Nintendo would reuse it someday. Enigma 200 November 29, 2012 Share November 29, 2012 It's also my favourite game of all time~ Outside of gaming music though, Vicarious by Tool is my favourite song without a doubt and has been for nearly 5 years = w=; "The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma." Kamarat 103 November 29, 2012 Share November 29, 2012 I got one thing to say, JESPER KYD. His work is outstanding, He can really give the feeling of the atmosphere. I really like his all job in all hitman series but he also has an outstanding work in Assassin's Creed series but I have just started to AC so only hitman soundtracks are here. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1JBuAkP3H4 http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=izvpK05_mMA http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-oJZQVDllc http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=dok4wJ4pqo0

Antismurf9001 1,271 November 30, 2012 Share November 30, 2012 (edited) Final Fantasy 6 Dancing Mad and Devil's Lab are two of my favorites. Oh dear, don't even get me started on Dancing Mad. I had the honor of being able to see it performed live at a Distant Worlds concert (and they had a pipe organ! A REAL PIPE ORGAN! LIKE WITH PIPES AND ORGANS AND EVERYTHING!!!!) and it was perhaps one of the most awesome moments in recent memory. If you haven't heard the Distant Worlds version, I would recommend giving it a listen. The fourth tier music is a little meh in the version with the rock band, and they don't include the transition music between the third and fourth tier, but otherwise it is something you will not regret. Oh, um, I guess I should contribute as well. I'll try to make this short, but be warned, I have a lot of music in mind to put here. I'll try to limit it to four, or maybe five. Well, six shouldn't be too much... But then I'd still have to cut out that one... (or is it Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright...? whatever). It's awesome on its own, and even better in context with the scenes in the game. (or just Fire Emblem in the English release). It's really best if you hear it in context though; the first time that it plays as a map theme is absolutely perfect, and is part of the reason why Chapter 16 is probably my favorite chapter. . A remix of Companions which is your fanfare as you and your friends charge forth one last time against impossible odds. Again, best heard in context, but a wonderful piece nonetheless. Cyan's theme from Final Fantasy 6. Also again, best heard in context, because it really is the definition of Cyan's character. It's still beautiful otherwise though. (and Yellow I think as well). I know that there is a more updated version of this for Fire Red/Leaf Green, but this is quite literally the first in-game song that I ever fell in love with. The nostalgic value of the original is worth the downgrade in quality. Also also again, best heard in context. Otherwise it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Born Anew from Final Fantasy XIII. This is actually the only one of these game that I haven't played. I hear that this is the theme for the first part of the final boss battle. It includes an amazing choir singing in Latin and definitely does not need to be heard in context to be enjoyed (perhaps it is better in context, but I wouldn't know...). Oh crap, I should stop. Sorry about that... If you couldn't tell, awesome music excites me. TailsIsNotAlone 3,695 November 30, 2012 Share November 30, 2012 (edited) I can point to a few tracks that are still playing in my head now. I don't care how sophisticated the consoles are now. No faux-orchestral theme on surround-sound will ever compare to what the real masters pulled off with only beeps and boops at their disposal. The first Dr. Wily stage theme from Mega Man II is still as epic as anything I've heard. Diddy and Dixie jumping through the vines...I died many times on those stages, but it was worth it to hear that music. If there's ever a contest for best video game soundtrack of all time, I will nominate Donkey Kong Country 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IDudDgfcgQ And how can I describe the final boss theme for Xenosaga Episode I? Yasunori Mitsuda's magnum opus of battle themes, I guess, and if you know who he is I don't have to tell you anything else. ^^ Edited November 30, 2012 by TailsAlone 2 "Human beings fascinate me Being just the way they are..." Played 7(Forgot it's japanese name) Sacred stones, path of radiance, radiant dawn, shadow dragon, and Thracia 776 (that one on Rom) It's one of my fav series, and i can't wait for the next to be released.
