Generation 4 is Ending

It has come to my attention that Generation 4 is coming to a close.  My reasoning?  Wonderbolt Academy.  Rainbow is finally achieving her dream; which is good, no doubt.  But, that means that she will be away from her friends in Ponyville; which means that she will also lose her strength as one of the Elements of Harmony.  Another reason for which I make this claim is Celestia's saying that Twilight will find her destiny.  There is a lot of contraversy surrounding that particular topic, so I'll leave it at that.  With 1 and, possibly, 2 Elements of Harmony leaving the stage, it would be quite difficult for the show to continue.

Your thoughts?

Everypony holds a job so I don't see why being a wonderbolt would prevent dash from participating in the usual crusade against the forces of evil.

Except being a Wonderbolt isn't just a job.  You're constantly training, you're doing live shows, and your traveling around Equestria to do those live shows.  While villians may halt all that, there is still the issue of actually having a connection with your friends.  Long distance relationships rarely work.

Actually I believe a 4th season is canon. Or so Ive been told.

This episode was probably one of those episodes that won't keep continuity with the rest of the show. Just like in any episode where Fluttershy starts to become more assertive. Not to mention, why would they stop a series that's making them so much money? G3 went from 2003-2008 so I highly doubt the show will stop soon.

She could travel at the speed of sound or faster so I doubt that it's a problem for her to drop by anytime and there's always the teleportation magic twilight uses.

Rainbow Dash can be anywhere in a very short time. She already lives in another town from Ponyville. :P
It's very unlikely that this is the end of anything.
Rainbow should show up as often as usual.

Wonderbolt training is her thing now. They created a new plot device that is more interesting than just clearing up the weather or finding a pet.

Twilight has her magic studies, Rarity has her boutique, Pinkie Pie works for the Cakes, Applejack works the farm, and now Dash trains with the Wonderbolts.

And Fluttershy... flutters... shyly...?

G3 lasted a LOOOOOOONG time. It was crap anyways. Considering that, G4 is way better and it has literally millions of fans. They're not going to end it anytime soon. Why would Hasbro end it when they can make so much money off of us bronies? When in doubt, excuse it on the money.

Rainbow Dash isn't a Wonderbolt yet. She just became a lead pony for the rest of the academy. And since Wonderbolts membership was never guaranteed at the end of the academy, I'm going to assume that there are more steps leading up to induction into the Wonderbolts. Until they explicitly say that Rainbow is a Wonderbolt, she isn't, and there is no reason to think that the show is about to end.

Actually no. Rainbow Dash is the element of loyalty, and will still be loyal but just not able to see her friends AS MUCH as before. also twilight is the element of magic, and will be able to keep that as it is her special talent also.

plus like rainbow dash said at the beginning of the episode "see you guys in a week" meaning the wonder bolt academy only lasts one week and I cant remember where I read it but there is a season 4 confirmed.

I think Firebolt is somewhat right. Sometimes there is a lack of continually between the episodes like Fluttershy' assertiveness. Who knows this may even be the first and last time we see Dash doing things like that. Even if she did achieve her dream I seriously doubt she'd be busy as to not being able to spend time with her friends. It would kind of be going against her element of loyalty not being there for her friends.

Why does everyone think that we won't be seeing Rainbow Dash anymore just because she's becoming a Wonderbolt/going to the Academy? Whose to say that we'll see her at times, or see her leaving occasionally usually saying something like "I have to go to training now, later guys!"

Actually season 4 has been confirmed by Hasbro and DHX Studios.

Therefore, more pony.

Therefore, this topic is invalid.

Therefore, more pony.

Wonderbolt Academy is a week long event. After that, it's uncertain if Dash will become a Wonderbolt. But if she does, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that it won't last very long. More than likely Dash will be faced with the dilemma of fame with the Wonderbolts VS staying with her best friends in Ponyville. Wonderbolt Academy has already shown that Dash -is- mature enough to decline her dream if something she holds in high regard isn't safe ('If being reckless is what gets awarded around here, then I don't want any part of it'). Ergo, it's also fully possible for Dash to decline a permanent position in the Wonderbolts, if it means she'll hardly ever get to be with her friends anymore.

This is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Not My Little Pony: Achieving Your Dreams. I seriously doubt the show writers would just begin to fade Dash out of the show from one episode onwards.

Seeing how this show exceeded the expectations of Hasbro regarding success both financially and entertainment wise, I don't think they'll be stupid enough to end the show so quickly. MLP:FiM will be with us for a long time and u can count on that.

Who said Rainbow Dash will become a wonderbolt? she might not get picked or refuse to join, just to be with her friends or something.

But i hope Twilight's little destiny thing is a temporary thing

Generation 4 is most likely not ending.

For what reason do people believe that Hasbro will end this series?  It's making them too much cash for them to even consider making an entire new generation that's as well built as this one is.

Having Rainbow Dash go to the Wonderbolt Academy, that's just for the show.  In the show, she is still the Element of Loyalty, and she wouldn't abandon her friends no matter what due to her loyal behavior.

It's silly for anyone to even think she's leaving the cast, just because she's participating in what should be considered 'Boot Camp' for the Wonderbolts.

It's an Academy for a reason, people.  A place to learn how the Wonderbolts do things around there.  And even then, it showed they were doing things wrong, what with Spitfire owning up in her own mistakes.

Does going to the Academy, and showing she's a great flyer to them, mean she's a Wonderbolt now?

No.

It just means she went to a school that the Wonderbolts set up, possibly made to look for recruits into their ranks for the future.  Doesn't mean she'll become one any time soon.

This rainbow-maned mare will be sticking around for a good while.

Rainbow Dash is the element of loyalty. She would be the last pony to leave her friends behind. She was offered to join a flight team before (Shadowbolts) and refused because of her friends. What makes you think she wouldn't do the same thing again? Even if she did join the Wonderbolts. I'm certain she would find a way to make ample time to spend with her friends.

As for Twilight becoming a princess. That is all speculation, and I don't think it's even true. Celestia says "You find your destiny." Why did so many people just go: "OMG TWILIGHT'S GONNA BE A PRINCESS DERP DERP," without even having any proof? Maybe Twilight's destiny is defeating King Sombra. Or maybe it's saving Equestria at the end of the season, maybe it's simply hanging out with her friends in Ponyville. Instantly assuming that she's gonna become a Princess without any proof is just dumb.

Season 3 is going great, I love it. It hasn't even been 6 months since I discovered MLP. I don't think season 3 is the reason why so many people are claiming that MLP is dying. I think it's simply because they're becoming bored of the show after so long...

Actually I do believe they are testing each of the six elements' virtue/ability--this case would be Rainbow Dash's loyalty.  When she finally achieves the dream she'd always wanted she would realize that she could no longer see her friends.  That would lead to her stepping down from the academy/wonderbolt position and rejoin her friends.  It is the same as how Twilight was tested on her magic, and pinkie was tested with her laughter.  (Am I sensing a theme of overcoming trials? Yes.)

If I had a dime for every time a "The end of Friendship is Magic" has shown up on forums or discussion posts I'd be rich enough to buy at least seven or eight Ferraris and seven mansions.  -_-

I really doubt Rainbow Dash training at an academy means no more RD and it certainly does not mean the end of the show.  Worry about that if and only IF Rainbow suddenly doesn't show up at all for the rest of the season, which I'd say is pretty unlikely. Stop the doomsday talk/theories/Hasbro Overlord conspiracies until after there is some concrete evidence of it.  Like, for example, a press release from Hasbro saying that there will be no more new episodes and that it is the end of the show.

On a seperate note, why are so many people focused on the end of the show rather than enjoying the here and now?  Wasn't the message of "It's About Time" something on the lines of not worrying so much about the future?
